❤This is a bucket list item for me. I thought I'd test out if I like the style and fit of an anorak by ordering a cheap knockoff from China, and now I REALLY want the real deal! Unfortunately, the real deal comes at real high prices for my budget, so I'll have to start saving up😊 Do yourselves a deal, save for real anorak. Cheap crap from Amazon may LOOK the same, and may be advertised as WOOL, but you're buying polyester fleece which isn't wind resistant and will soak up rain like a sponge😢
Literally just spilled coffee on mine and was devastated. What luck to have you showcasing how to deal with coffee exactly. Absolutely adore my Anorak, thanks for posting this.
Look, I live in a caravan. Have for 20 years. Love it. But a few weeks ago I decided I wanted a mess kit like I've seen on RU-vid. I looked at different types and decided I wanted a GSI Glacier 1 Person Mess Kit - stainless steel. But I am a South African Pensioner and the current rate of exchange is 20 South African Rands for 1 American Dollar. So online my Mess Kit would have cost me R800. Well, I was in our local second-hand shop a few days later and there was the very Mess Kit that I wanted in a dark corner on a table. Old battered dusty box but the contents were BRAND NEW. Even the pot grabber had never been unwrapped. R120!!! Christmas came early for me! Now I want the kettle!
$209.99 for the cheapest one on their website and it no longer has the edge binding around the perimeter. Way too expensive even if it was 100% wool, which it’s not.
I have to ask how everyone is able to wear wool? How are you keeping it from coming in contact with your skin at the wrists, neck and under your chin? Just the thought of a Hudson's Bay three point blanket makes me break out in hives. When i was in the CAF, I had to wear long underwear under my dress uniform. Not great on a sunny 90°F parade square.
Have you ever treated your Anorak with a water repellent spray? I used that (water repellent sprays) with a great deal of success on some canvas jackets I own. I'm just curious if you've tried it.
Just discovered your videos Andy. How kind... sharing your cabin days. Have you ever tried Devil's Club salve, like the indigenous people make, on your back and shoulder? I make a potent batch for my own arthritis. A wonderfully effective natural medicine for inflammation. I will send you some. Yours truly, Bruce Hardy
You are VERY fortunate to have not had to experience a moth visit. I have had all my wool decimated multiple times by moths despite having it stored with cedar and inside a cedar wardrobe. Mothballs or a Permethrin based clothing spray are the only really effective thing you can apply but even then some moths might still make some holes. So garbage bags or other bags to wrap your stuff in is the only certain way to keep the moths off I have found.
Thanks for making a great product. If you can maybe do a video on the people making fakes. I just seen a fake for $79 on the Internet that looks almost the same and is trying to say that their shirt is your shirt. The one that they’re selling is not even made out of wool
Big fan of the Rough, my favorite piece of wool in a long lineup of wool. I live in Florida and run away to Virginia, UP of Michigan, Colorado, Montana, Wyoming and Utah in the late fall and winter for camping, hiking and fishing. Not used to the cold my clothing has to work and the Rough lives up to and exceed its reputation. If it is a warmer day or I'm really exerting then just a T-shirt underneath is enough and no itching or skin irritation, when it gets really cold, I put a Filson Virgin wool in combo with a Trachten Tyrol boiled wool sweater underneath and can sit in well below freezing and be comfortable. Just ordered the Titan Poncho to add to my expedition kit, let it rain, let it snow let it sleet, bring on the wind, nothing scares me now. Great product Andy, nothing compares to it and I've been side by side with a Lester River Anorak, yours is far superior. Got another so-called anorak years ago from a famous bow hunter and again, your product is far superior.
I was interested in one of your Anoraks and with your company being in Canada i thought ... bonus. i went to your website and was surprised to see the high cost of your merchandise, what a joke. The Anorak i was interested in comes to $600 Canadian ?? Are you kidding me ?? It's no wonder people buy knock-offs because that's highway robbery.
@@BorealBushcraftCanada That's some pretty poor justification for an overpriced product. People living in the bush as trappers with today's depressed markets can't afford your overpriced stuff. Your catering to yuppies. Shame on you for calling people who are trying to make a living from the bush in these rough economic times wana bees ?? The only wan a bee i see is you quite frankly.
Ive BOUGHT a Loden, I live in the UK. I paid $375 for it. However when it arrived I had to pay a third again in customs duties. Which took it to well over $500. The Anorak is really nice, warm and a quality garment, but done forget those Custom Charges. Outside Canada they wont be cheap❗️And It took over three weeks to receive. So be patient, it wont come the same week you order it. Finally the sleeves are not too long, so if you can I would buy the longer sleeves.
When purchasing a Boreal Anorak, DON'T forget, you will be charged Customs & VAT❗️I bought a Loden, and when it arrived I had to pay nearly a third again in custom charges, living in the UK. The Anorak is beautifully made, obviously a very high quality garment, warm and fits really well . But DON'T FORGET those import duties, outside of Canada it will make a huge difference in how much the Anorak costs overall ❗️😫
