Some unlikeable, know it all ass at work dropped this quote a couple months ago in an unofficial email involving a hundred or so co-workers. The context for the quote was OK, but he totally shit the Smart Guy bed by mis-attributing the quote to some fringe economist/conspiracy theory guy instead of Nietzsche. I couldn’t resist. I replied to the chain with and embedded this video, and said that his conspiracy guy literally had less to do with the quote than Higgins from Magnum P.I. Ive been getting all sorts of love, adoration, and even free beer from co-workers and even management ever since.
I was 13 yrs old, and I lived just a few miles from the Middle Ga. Raceway. My parents wouldn't let me go, but my dad went with his buddies. He was gone for 2 days.
O' La-dy Fu-schia Your spi-rit wan-ders the Glen Cry-ing there at night O' Lady Fu-schia Why did you take your own life From the ca-stle wall ? Why did your fa-ther For-bid you to pass these gates In-pri-son you here ? Since you were a child You were al-ways by your-self O' Lady Fu-schia Your au-burn hair flowed As you ran down the long halls Play-ing chase with ghosts Did you dream of love In the brave arms of some-one That ne-ver did show ? You heard the owl pray As you looked at lone-ly skies Took then your last breath And fell to your death Brok-en on the rocks be-low In the dawn-ing light Birds flew from the trees Scat-tered by the sud-den sound Into morn-ing's mists Where her bo-dy lay Her green eyes were wide open Staring in-to space Her crypts on the hill Weathered from a thou-sand years Her name still engraved I touch each let-ter Want-ing to be there with her Under the cold stones I'll wait for her there In the dark-ness of the Glen Till she comes to me O' La-dy Fu-schia I hear you out in the Glen Come to me to-nigh
I believe the song was inspired by the character of Lady Fuchsia from Melvin Peake's GORMENGHAST novels, and not a new character imagined by Hudson and Ford. The lyric contains several direct and indirect references. The song is even more effective when you know her story. She's a dark-haired, olive skinned Celtic type, overshadowed in her royal family that thrives on male heirs.
I've always hoped to work with someone called Howard and be nearby when he makes a fatuous comment so that I could say "Oh, blow it out 'yer ass, Howard." I have lived in disappointment.
I'm not hawking to say get a RU-vid subscription to avoid ads, but I have one because I love to create playlists and listen to hours-long interrupted music and videos on subjects of interest. Streaming RU-vid ad free is a great pleasure for me.
The premise of this song is quite sad and profound....YES.... .St Genevieve and the saints can hold back the worst of natural disasters from becoming a total end.....BUT.....when it comes to the the poor of the south in the the 1939s what can anyone do?? Saints too?

Jeunesse défoncée...lamentable...Dire que ce sont parmi ceux là que figurent les cadres actuels. M'étonne pas que tout parte en couilles dans le monde d'aujourd'hui Bad youth... deplorable... To say that these are among those that the current frameworks appear. Doesn't surprise me that everything goes balls in today's world
If I was given a time machine I would go back and experience all these festivals that I missed when I was young, it seems to me I belong with those people travelling in a VW Bug to have good times !! Screw world events, just give me music !!
I was there for all 3 days ….. I was a teenager, saw everybody on the main stage, and some acts on a second stage because there was so much talent booked. Mondo crazy.. never witnessed anything like it since. Life altering
