We publish your favorite casual tabletop games, including Tsuro and Roll For It! All of our games can be played with as few as 2 and as many as 13 players, play in under an hour, and have a price point of $40 or less. We are inspiring a lifetime of lasting memories for all who play.
Next time play a whole game. Do you only roll 3 dice on your next turn, if you put 3 on the cards? I do realize that you can take all your dice back on your turn if you want too.
Glad to see designers make videos explaining the game. Just wish there was a full time camera showing the cards played while you explain what you are doing. Helps to have visuals along with the audio.
Trying to understand the walk cards. If I am at a train station can I use a walk card to switch to one of the other 2 lines of transportation? I also understand that using a walk card only moves you to the next card. If I was at a train station can I move to the water on the next card (no station on that card) or can I not be standing in the middle of a road, water, or train track? Hope that makes sense.
Let me make sure I answer it all! First, if you are on a single card with multiple stations, you are considered to be on ALL the stations, and can travel via any of them, no walk card required to switch. You can always walk one card forward from a station. We say that there are sidewalks along the road/railroad/canal :) Hope this helps!!
You can indeed make a path with no stations all the way to the suburbs, and then walk the commuter the whole way, but you will be using at least 4 walk cards to do it, and that will leave you barely enough to walk the other commuters out of the city to their initial cards. So yes, it’s possible, but it’s incredibly dangerous!
Thanks for the solid tutorial, although would I be forgiven for thinking that the act of putting the star down on the board at all seems kind of unnecessary? Instead you could just pass through the square with a lantern on it, move the lantern, and then take a star from the pile and put it directly in front of you. Why put the star down on the board for 2 seconds just to pick it up again? That part kind of confuses me.
The star placement is important if you are making a big move across several tiles. The stars remind you of your path, and mark where the lanterns came from if you take a bit of time to deliberate. It's also important that you don't move them as you go and place them ahead to another tile you are about to pass through in the same turn (which is not allowed).
Replenishing you hand is mandatory. You must either 1) draw two cards, 2) swap two cards from your hand with cards from the train, or 3) draw one + swap one. The hand limit is 6, though, so if you chose (1) and drew a card that brought your hand to 6 cards, you would have to swap one so you didn’t hit 7 cards.
It is, but very difficult to sort the correct tiles and you don't have the starting positions marked out on the board. It's really makes more sense to play each game with the intended pieces... it's just simpler.
I love Tsuro so much.... It killed me that just could not afford this incredibly beautiful edition 😭 My ADHD driven FOMO and impulse spending almost pushed me across the line but almost 50% of my currently unhealthy bank balance was too much to stomach. Genuinely stunning edition though..... stunning.
This game is a mainstay in my library.... I can always table Tsuro, no matter the crowd! Non-gamers will learn fast and enjoy. Board gamers will chuck it on the table for a quick games night opener or closer. You're missing the elegance of this brilliant little game.
Tsuro was such a major stepping stone game for me when I first got into the board gaming hobby. I would love to have such a beautiful version of the game.
I have got a bit confused about traffic stops. I first thought that if you were stopped at say, a train station, you would need a train card to sort of "break free" of the stoppage and then ANOTHER train card to move to the next station. But is it just that if you are stopped in the train line you only need one train card to both get out of the stoppage and get to the next station. Which is right please?
@@michaelmcguigan8771 It only takes one card to move from one stop to another. For TRAFFIC STOPS, you must play a card of the same kind the commuter used to get there. For example, if someone played a bus card to move a commuter to a traffic stop, then only another bus card could be played to move that commuter off the traffic stop (to either a buds station or another traffic stop, whichever came first). You couldn't play a walk card to get out of traffic. On the other hand. if a commuter is on a TRAIN STATION, then either a train card could be played (to move that commuter to the next train station) or a walk card could be played (to move the commuter one card forward). I hope this helps!!
We are actually hard at work on a brand new, refreshed version of the game. Same fun gameplay, but with nearly 1000 new questions, new art and a smaller box. We expect it to be released the first half of 2022. Please subscribe to our newsletter at www.calliopegames.com for updates!
@@ChrisLeder this is great news!!!! Thank you. We’ll be covering this in the future in a video about our favorite party games! We hope production goes well!
almost unwatchable - the feeble attempts at humor were disconcerting and lame. Just show how to play....as there's a really good game here. You can do much better.
We're sorry to hear you did not enjoy the video. We strive to create content that fits a variety of needs, and this one is aimed for those who enjoy banter between players. If you are looking for a more focused playthrough, we think you'll enjoy this one with the game's designers: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WDdPJutEtxc.html
The rules are too vague. I have to use a walk card to get out of the city but can I move more than one card if there are no stations. Say I had cards with a train line out to a suburb with no stations. Can I go right to the suburb with that one walk card? Or does it only move me to the closest station?
You can only ever move one card forward with a Walk card, regardless of Stations. That might move you to a card with no Stations, and then you will need to Walk again to move forward, making Walk cards important but slow. Stations have no effect on Walk cards. Hope this helps.
Hello Chris and Kevin, this is a fun game, I've just got my copy. Before I start playing can you please clarify ? Rule book says: If a Commuter walked to a card featuring a Traffic Stop, it can only move on if you discard a card with a Walk icon. Can you please explain? Another rule says: e. If a Commuter was riding a vehicle when it arrived at a Traffic Stop, it can be moved again only by discarding a card with the corresponding vehicle icon.... what is the difference between those 2 use cases? Thank you!
Happy to help! Basically, you can only move FROM a traffic stop using the same method you used to get TO it. So in the first case above, you used a Walk card to get there, so you would need to use a Walk card to leave. If you arrived there with a Bus card, you would need to use a Bus card to leave. Hope this helps!
@@CalliopeGames thanks I’m a big fan of calliope games. I own several and enjoy them all. 👍 this is the type of filler game my Wife and I enjoy playing so often. I have been waiting what seems like a year to get this ever since I saw the playthroughs on ant lab games and knew the design is genius👍 thanks again. Any day now.
If you follow the path correctly, there’s actually no way to get into an endless loop in Tsuro. The reason for this is that you should always be able to trace your route back to your starting space. When people get into infinite loops, it’s because somewhere along the way, they accidentally jumped to the wrong path when they placed a new tile.
