I too have the same camper and have been using it for 23 years. Great people at Phoenix Campers and the product is terrific. I will be doing an upgrade and appreciate you sharing your ideas.
Thanks for the vid.. wondering how this set up is working for you so far? I’m looking at the same camper but a 2011 and I also have a 09 Taco with the 6ft bed.. do you know the dry weight of this slide in? I’ve got air bags but no extra leaf… appreciate your help!
Congratulations on the great build. Hope you're having a great time on the road. I too am curious about the weight. Thinking about going to a truck camper ourselves, We're sure we're going to exceed the payload capacity of our midsized truck. We plan on adding airbags on the rear suspension and keeping it as light as we can, but wondering about the truck's power and wear. We have an 01 Sport Trac with a supposed 1500 payload capacity.
Nathan, I also have a Phoenix pop up camper that I put on my tundra. I'm thinking about getting a tacoma and I need to know how much your camper weighs so that I know the tacoma I get can handle it with some suspension upgrades. Thank you
Tks, Nathan/Jill for the conversion highlights. I too have a Phx popup, just a little older than yours but still fundamentally in good working order. Have done several upgrades but nothing as elaborate as yours tho - changed the fridge, modified the H2O system, chucked the full-size bed adapter like you did, and other minor changes. Planning extensive xcountry trip across Canada next year and need changes to power system (incl solar panels) and refrigeration system with some freezer capability and would appreciate your added guidance, if you wouldn't mind. Anyway we could chat further ? Best regards Dale Hunt
