2:36:31 I’ve rewatched this so many times, but today was my first time ever seeing Iggy congratulate Crosby after the medal ceremony; what a great moment 🟥❤️🟥
I was never a big fan of ice dancing. It got to the point where the programs were getting too abstract and theatrical. Some of the costumes were elaborate and complicated. Then I discovered Tessa and Scott about 4 years after they retired. 😢. I have since become obsessed with them and their skating. I have watched all of their programs many times. I can tell what the program is by Tessa’s costume. Some of their programs are iconic - Moulin, Mahler, Carman to name a few. But my all time favorite is the Umbrellas of Cherbourg. They were so young, just starting out really. But the program was so romantic, about young love and they certainly relayed that feeling on the ice. Now they have gone on to pursue their second careers. Both are married with a child for Scott and one on the way for Tessa. I wish them health and happiness. Maybe one day we will see their kids on the ice! Camelot will live on.
The Russian National Anthem seems like it was invented and written in Heaven, and handed down to the people of Russia. The most beautiful anthem in existence.
1:24:27 The Olympic anthem was performed by Canadian opera singer and native of British Columbia, Ben Heppner. He did it in English and French to reflect Canada's bilingualism.
Учитывая уровень соперника, команда в красной форме безобразно играет в большинстве, тренера выпускают в бригады большинства игроков потипу у кого фамилии по круче, а там что нибудь придумаем, ну в 1/4 придумали!
I went to church that evening, holding to my commitment, Jesus first, faith first, no matter who won or lost the game. Returned to the campus in the final minutes of the game, shocked to see Canada was winning by a lopsided margin. My (American) classmates were like, "It's Team Canada, what do you expect?" I answered, "And that's Team Russia, the only nation who could kick our butts."
1:24:27 Canadian opera singer and native of British Columbia, Ben Heppner, was the singer if the Canadian national anthem, "O Canada," during the closing ceremony of the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy. Four years later, at the closing ceremony of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, he sang the Olympic anthem as the Olympic flag is lowered and carried out of the stadium.
I was 8 years old when this happened. And I still remember my dad waking me up to watch the game with him on the TV. We lived just outside of Vancouver. It was just the two of us, but it really felt like there were millions around him and I, all getting up and jumping as one. Tearing up right now because I know that this is going to be one of my fondest memories with my dad, and a memory I'll remember my entire life. I come back to this video every few years just to re-live the memory :)
