@@stoplogicmotorsports this is all about technique not shock setup to be frank. There is steps to the technique! In my rich Larsen video steps to learning the double blip he explains it well. You should go watch it and really dive in to the video. I suggest taking a course next time he comes if you wanna progress as a rider and learn these techniques
@@stoplogicmotorsports also my setup you would be surprised is not super plush and more so has more bottom resistance for bashing rocks, logs, jumping off rocks, etc. I custom built my setup with amp. Ask Jeff he was surprised the other day how stiff my rear was!! But stiff and bottom resistance are two different things in the stroke..
My beta has a hydraulic clutch along with the KTM husky and gas gas all have hydraulic clutches really only Yamaha’s are the one that have cable clutches still but for hard Enduro, I definitely recommend a hydraulic clutch as they don’t fatigue you as much and they have a light pool
Thanks for sharing your story and experiences. Sounds like it's where you need it to be right now. Did you consider getting KYB forks built for the XT, or is that not what you wanted/they were too expensive compared to the staged work you had done my AMP? I've had ORVS done to mine and it's certainly better, but I'd like more. I'm in Europe and there is no AMP here and sending to the Staes/import taxes back again skew the costs here for the same thing, but I am tempted by £1,200 KYB forks that can be resold as and when I'm done with XT's. I'm just curious how much of a deal they are above what you got done and paid Welcome any insights as I'm thinking you must have considered this. And yes, your riding has come on leaps and bounds 👍👍👍. Nice to see it grow in the area you wanted it to.
I consider different setups but at the end of the day where I’m focus on riding is more technical enduro/hard enduro riding so that’s why I went with the k tech and amp revalve and setup and cost! I wanted a plush ride still and the orvs is already plush just needed that bottom resistance and better valve for range in the clickers!! If I was gonna race fast cross country and that’s it maybe I would have considered a different setup but the setup I have now works greats for my type of riding and honestly was the xt is ment for!! If I wanna do different type of riding I will consider a different bike! It’s like right tool for the right job you know what I mean and thank you yes I have grown a lot in the last yr as a rider!! Always focusing on the basic as rich Larsen thought me recently.. he said if you can’t master the techniques on flat ground, then you shouldn’t be riding out in the trail. Master it there first 🤙🏻
I had Aaron do the suspension on my 22 Xtrainer and I could not believe the difference. I attribute this to the time he took visiting with me to get to know the style of riding I do, it was set up perfectly and I never had to change a clicker on it in the next 100 hours. I ended up doing his own valving which has been more than satisfactory for me as I have developed more confidence and gotten faster. Since then, I have had him do my 300 RR suspension, and it was set up perfectly when I got it back. As I spoke with Aaron, I could tell this wasn't just a job for him, he loves what he does and it shows in the quality of his work.
That weird turn at 24:50... I've seen my buddy Josh take that wide and send it off that rock to the left of where you went. Just have to keep the momentum he makes it look easy. I generally take the way you did.
He's the best instructor online, but why explain something simple with a more complex analogy, ''collection'' doesn't make sense. just say, throttle loads up the potential energy in the fly wheel, and clutch is the traction control. first load up the fly wheel, then use clutch to lift up the front wheel without spinning the rear tire.
I agree with you on both counts. 1) Rich is a phenomenal teacher, which makes it all the more surprising that 2) he uses such strange terminology here. I always think of it as generating power and delivering power. That is, you generate power with throttle and you deliver it with the clutch. You can generate however much power you want, and keep it in reserve for when you decide to deliver it. You deliver it through the clutch release. The amount of clutch release is proportional to the amount of generated power you want to deliver.
@@spookyroofus @David-lq2xg I appreciate both you guys and support of my videos and techniques! I really these type of comments because it helps me explain the terms deeper. The reason I coined the term collection it is used by 100% of the top technical riders yet no one has explained the intricacies of what they are doing. The problem here is in exactly the way that you described delivering power. Generating power with the throttle, then controlling the delivery with clutch, which is 100% true in a lot of situations. There’s a time in a place where riders are using their clutch to deliver power and there’s a time and a place where we use our clutch to collect our power. There are two very distinct differences in these forms of control and we can’t be one dimensional in our thinking. The piece everyone has missed as it pertains to the double blip is the understanding that the throttle is OFF when we release the clutch. This increases the speed in which the RPM descend or the way we COLLECT our power. Creating efficient traction. I could go deeper but we’ll leave it there 😂 Unfortunately these techniques are complicated!
@@IRCTireUSAMoto WoW, thank you for the clarification. I'm very literal, it was confusing when you first said "collection" without the definition. You did a great job explaining/demonstrating the term "collection" at the second half of this video. Maybe "pop/drive with loaded flywheel AND throttle off" captures the idea better. Fabulous work.
@@whitehollywood6447 I’m on the fence about getting an XTrainer or full on 300. At my age I don’t need to push the speeds anymore so maybe XT is the way. Will prob see you at TH pretty soon. 🤘🏻
@@Garrettactical I have mine modded out like a full 300!! There great bikes but lack stability like 48 mil forks and higher speeds! Suspension upgrades made it definitely way better but still not the same as a full-size bike, but it depends on what you like to ride tech or fast, every bike has its good and bad also depends on your writing style as the trainer is more of a trials type feeling bike/Enduro
Y'all may want to throw some of the trials specific stuff back around there for trials guys. Like the spread log jump and lone tire and big rock. Love the Enduro cross circuit though! Glad all kept it manageable for all skills and bikes.
Your getting better. It must be H with the rain we have been having. As for me I'll stick with the bunny trail. I also like you talking now about what you are thinking while you are riding.
@@whitehollywood6447 Hopefully in time it will get better. Keep up the good work and keep talking so people get to know what you are thinking. Hopefully things will work out for me on a job I hope to do to make enough money to get out there with you and ride. With this inflation I've have to go back to work to make enough money to have fun. Any races that you are planning to ride in this year?
It was alright not in my favorites! It needed mark better for sure! Some sections I didn’t know if I was goin the right way! Needed more tape off sections and would make navigation better!! Always cool to have a new place to ride though!! 👍🏻👏👏👏
Thanks man! Wasn’t pushing too hard but just going steady and safe!! The knee doesn’t allow me to push like I want and stand more!! 39 yesterday and the knee feels like 80 lol!!
Cool. That must have been yesterday. My starter locked up my motor at the end of the day at twin hills with loopy on yellow the other day. Having to wait on parts...
Ya it was cool but not mark very well!! Needed more stuff tape off in sections but pretty cool course!! Ya I seen you say something in the Gumby group something happened to your bike! When you get it fix up holler and we’ll go rip!!
Novu sam od pocetka 250 sve u blokadu vozio da crkne dok je u garanciji i mogu vam reci da sada ide preko 140km ladno, samo blokada od pocetka a fabrika neka razmislja kako su napravili
@@JakePickle I’m enjoying the beta right now!! Don’t necessarily need right now right away and they go down a couple thousand at the end of the yr around here before new models come out and also I wanted to see if tbi had issues cause next yr models are always perfected and little changes are made if I decide to get a 25 model
