I'm Chris Khalife and I upload bass videos to RU-vid under the name "My Bassist Chris". I've been playing bass since 2005 and started uploading bass covers in December 2010. My first instrument I learned at the age of nine was piano, but transitioned to guitar at age twelve and bass shortly after. My channel mainly consists of bass covers and bass gear demos. I chose the name My Bassist Chris for two reasons: To pay homage to my favorite band My Chemical Romance and because being a bassist in many bands people would refer to me as my bassist Chris.

Thanks for this. I have two of the GJazz basses w/ rosewood boards, and have wanted something w/ a maple board. Knowing the neck is different and it being a P style, I might give it a try.
Bro! i have a question, i have this same bass (i think) but with a Jazz pickup at the bride, did you upgrade it with that humbucker??? if so, could you give some insight on how to do it? did you have to make modifications to the body itself? thank you in advance.
I remove the bass from the song uses Moises AI. For the bass tone I use elixir bass strings which are super bright and I take out some of the low end as well. When playing with a band you definitely need the lows, but for a bass cover you actually want to remove some of the low end for the bass to stand out. The Aguilar OD also helps bright out some of the highs/mids. Hope this helps!
He's no virtuoso but man, I never realized how far Mikey came on his instrument by the time MCR disbanded. That bass line on "the only hope for me..." is so sick.
