I love how you two share the speaking floor and both speak clearly and make great points. I have a obsessive personality as well when it comes to Goals and becoming better. I love the high I get from overcoming a challenge . This is a great talk thanks you two. Subscribed
I really like what Maggie said about priorities. I’m going to start saying “that’s not a priority for me” instead of “I don’t have time”. What a change in mindset.
That is not a good takedown for white whitebelts, maybe blue belt who is not afraid of sacrifice throws. Even in judo it is not really taught to lower belts, too risky.
I did this as a white belt and wasn't sure where to go with it once I got through the legs and behind my opponent so I just pulled my other leg through, gripped both his ankles, stuck both feet on the butt and got a sweep and followed up into a wrestling ride position, which I didn't do much with of course, being a white belt but it was cool nonetheless, haha.
@@torresjiujitsu4413 so I have the same question but if they aren't going for an estimate lock or a toe hold but trying to underhook your leg and sit back for an ankle lock
@@craigcrissman4651 your question has a lot variables, you have to be prepare to react if they attempt a ankle lock grip. One are they sitting back or are they going to attempt to finish the lock standing? I like to “limp leg” out of ankle lock grips very early on. If they keep control and sit back just be prepared to make a “ boot”, push your foot through and fight hands. This is a timing thing and your ability to predict their attack needs to be precise. it’s super necessary to practice your ankle lock defense and any other leg lock defense. Keep drilling and show vulnerability so you can understand the attacks and positions better, and develop a way more confident defensive game. I also advise you to tap often and quick when practicing.
