The county of Los Angeles, along with the State of California, has single-handedly destroyed black families through child support, foster care, welfare, and section 8. All these programs have purposely broken up black families. Remember section 8 alienated fathers and husbands from being in the household? They used to do random house checks to make sure a black man was not living in the home. Ya'll really not going to address that though? But y'all for reparations though? Thats not equity or inclusion. Then, the same county used children as a way of profit and control through child support to weaponize mothers to break down and alienate the fathers from their children. Creating poverty and criminalization in the black community. If I were this administration the very first thing I would do is cut off child support arrears and its interest. Make section 8 for 2 parent black family households. Hold these judges and DA's responsible for the accumalated wealth they have collected throughout the years. They are still making profit off of broken black men, women, and children till this day. The county has financially enslaved generations of black families for decades, while preaching like they are the saviors and care about black families. Look at the conditions of your policies and legislation. There are Black & Brown men in these streets homeless behind the County's & States destitute policies. And you wonder why they don't want your help when you offer them? You put them there. Along with 30% of the youth are homeless due to a failed foster care system. Opening up beaches and museums is an absolute joke and smack in the face of black and brown men and their families you've torn apart. If I were her administration. The first thing I'd do is cancel all arrears of Child Support. Keep child support in place. But the arrears is only hurting, not helping anyone. Cutting that off would give these men a fighting chance to get off the streets and getting back into the workforce. Its like how do you see the obvious and not address it? Ya'lll want to keep the arrears and make it easier for men to pay it. Go out to the streets because the majority of men out there homeless are due to most of these systems railroading them. And they wonder why so many of them refuse service from the county?
She isn’t serious about reparations. Also, MLK was an advocate for Black American descendants to be paid the debt that is owed. Just like native Americans. Japanese Americans. And resources provided to Jewish Americans.

It'd be good, and would be physically doable if all approvals existed and already fully funded. But adding it to the already existing list of projects? Done before 2084 maybe? And if we're thinking long-term extensions: keep going east from Long Beach. All the way to a Metrolink station. Build an interconnected network.
So does the C line end at the Transit Center station, or does it continue north to the E line? So if I'm coming from Norwalk and want to get to the E line, do I get off on either of the two shared stations with the K line and hop on the K line to get to the E line? Or, do I just stay on the C line train all the way to the E line station? I'm asking because I could easily see myself doing this to get to Santa Monica. Thanks.
When LAX station opens, the C will end there. At the end of this year you will have a direct ride into LAX with no transfers. However, the C will end at LAX, and a transfer to the K will be required in order to get to E service. The K is mostly grade separated in this area so it shouldn’t be too long
This is great to see! I hope that very soon we can start talking more about extending the C Line east to connect with Norwalk/Santa Fe Springs. A direct light rail connection from Metrolink/Amtrak to LAX would be amazing.
Yeah, this is the wrong side of the current C Line to be expanding. Directly connecting Metrolink with the C Line is much more important than this. Oh well.
@mrxman581 When the line was first constructed, leaders in the city of Norwalk refused to allow it to connect to the existing station. So ever since then, we've had a terminus with a terrible park and ride lot and a 2.5 mile missing link to that network.
Long long overdue... LA needs tons more light rail, heavy rail and streetcar/tram lines including anywhere they were removed during the Yellow and Red car eras... With way more people, congestion and pollution a massive investment in public RAIL is the only way to get people out of their cars and onto transit!
@slimshady6359 But several of the more important ones remain and are owned by LA Metro, including this one. Same is true for the ROW being used on the G line and the upcoming Southeast Gateway line. The E and A lines also partially use old Red Car ROWs.
@@mrxman581 they're all important.. that new line they're talking about has a right away all the way through Long Beach and all the way through seal Beach and all the way through Huntington Beach and it ended up where Newport Beach... We need to work on inner city rail way more than some high-speed train to two shit hole cities

It wasn't the greatest electric rail system. It was an early twentieth century trolley system that was used by real estate scammers as loss leaders to promote property development.
I'm no expert but many of the streetcars were running on the really wide boulevards that we still have today like Santa Monica Blvd. So these can and should be repurposed in the future as BRT routes at the very least.

Hi Supervisor Holly Mitchell, we need to set up new law and regulations on AI Artificial Intelligence due to mistakes and misinformation etc. We also need a faster response on how to improve regulations on RV on the streets especially when these RV’s don’t have plates and make trash and noise at night when people are sleeping at the neighborhoods. My auntie's been a homeowner in Culver City for nearly 60 years. She just turned 100. She's seen some things, but nothing like the filth that has infiltrated the area, with RV's parked helter-skelter and addicted individuals roaming around. It's gone straight to hell in a hand-basket. Why? When I lived in Redondo Beach and worked at Merle Norman Corporate in LA, in the 80's, it was very expensive to live then too. I signed up with a temp agency. We worked hard and lived within our means - it cost first, last and security for apartments then too. Same as now. My Auntie pays extreme taxes to be exposed to criminal nonsense. Shame on every single one of you who condone this socially deviant behavior. Get those nasty, rat-infested RV's off the public roads, and burn the tents too. Make the "unhoused" get a job and share a room in an apartment, within their own means, or move on down the road with their lack of conformity, refusal to follow rules, and deeply held addictions.
