I can't count how many times I've heard such news, but I think (now, and unlike years ago) that such news is just being spread as chicken feed. And I think that when something like this happens, subjects like James Woolsey are bound to a lifelong obligation of confidentiality and are just doing their job.
They found her “living her best live” - so they trapped her and put her back in a cage so humans can gawk at her like she is some sort of freak. What a happy ending.
"...costs will fall to customers ?" Customers have paid 100X over the cost of putting these criminals right. So long as successive Governments refuse to teach these s`bags a lesson they`ll never learn.
I’m in the USA so I don’t understand the big deal. Do her parents have a different accent from the child? Would this be equivalent to New York baby speaking with a USA southern accent?….
I remember the 1970s and my parents and grandparents telling me that I should drink water from the tap because it was free and healthy, instead of guzzling carbonated drinks. Could I say that to my children or grandchildren? I hardly think so on both points.
The worrying thing is that these are all constantly being talked about as preventable one off incidents but the big fear is this is yet another systemic infrastructure problem, only fixable with a lot of money and there is little of that for anything. Could it be the UK just not have the capacity any more to treat its sewage? We of course know there will never be any hint of that in the information made available to the public?
Sewage "spills?" ?!?!?! They're not _spills_ for Gods' sake... They WILFULLY piped tonnes and tonnes of raw sewage directly into the waterways. This is Sooooo easy to verify with a quick Google check. In "certain situations" the water companies are LITERALLY allowed to dump raw sewage into the waterways. They do it willingly, knowingly, intentionally, and with legislative authority.
David Black is clearly in the pocket of these organisations. I am sure money (taxpayers money) is being siphoned into an offshore bank account for him.
Record breaking fines will be followed by record breaking price rises, record breaking dividend payments to (mostly) foreign share holders. Nationalise ALL water now.
Since 1989, shareholders of water companies have received up to 900 billion pounds in dividends. The UK urgently needs new reservoirs. The last reservoir was built when it was still under public ownership. The UK is the only country where people pay for the water they use. The money paid to shareholders could have paid for several reservoirs.
