I love a good car show. And there were some very nice ones there. I have not seen any shows advertised in my area this year, but I've seen a lot of vantage vehicles for sale.
I don't go looking for car shows, but I was going to be here with our church anyway and figured it would be small enough that Goofy might enjoy the exposure. I gave away all my business cards that I had on the seat, probably 50 of them. I enjoy small car shows. Thanks Duke
That tiny red fire truck is an Anglia! Oh, and I've never seen a Javelin painted like that before; they're usually one solid color with a Le Mans Stripe (or 2).
You are right on where the Crosleys were made. This little truck was a Ford/Fiat, though the grill really reminded me of an Anglia which was also produced in the UK. Thanks for taking a look.
Finally recalled the name I was thinking and that's 'Crosley'. Marvelous mini vehicles that are so hard to find nowadays, as people turned them into racers and ruined the classics.
Sorry you didn't win, but I'm very glad you got to enter. Am AMX is certainly a rare bird anymore. I've no clue to the fire engine's maker.I was thinking the company that made 2/3 size cars from the 30's and 40's but you said it's not made here. Morris from England perhaps?
The fire truck was a Ford/Fiat, though it reminds me of the Anglia cars that ended up in the drag strips as gassers back in the day. Thanks for taking a look.
Hey George, they say imitation is the highest form of flattery. So you should feel very flattered. I was inspired by your hand-painting the letters. I used a different paint scheme, but actually think I prefer yours better. I got it all back together a week ago. The only problem is the hook on the inside of the return spring was broken, so I'm looking to replace that. Not sure if I can upload any pics to your channel, but I'll try. Thanks again for all your advice-- and mostly, your inspiration! Ben
I was brought up Baptist, then moved on to charismatic, but have fellowshipped in Pentecostal (I was licensed to preach in a 4 Square Pentecostal church), fellowshipped with Mennonites, Lutherans and others, preaching in most of them at one time or another. I prefer small churches myself. Thanks Bob
I just looked up where y'all are located. There is another church not far from there that I am interested in visiting sometime. I may have to make a tour of both churches. Do you mind me asking what denomination Mt Tabor is? I grew up in a Baptist Church and now am a member of a Church of God.
Well, there is no official denominational affiliation at Mt Tabor. It started life as a Methodist church back in the late 1800s, then became Pentecostal Holiness, then United Pentecostal, now I would say closer to a conservative charismatic church. I personally was brought up Baptist, but have fellowshipped in many different places over the years. When someone asks me what denomination I am I say, I am an Anibaptiluthercostal. It's not the church group so much as the individuals who make up a particular fellowship. You would certainly be warmly welcomed at our church. My family and I have been going to Mt Tabor for a little over 2 years now. Being a follower of Jesus Christ is the MOST important thing.
@@TheShadeTreeFixitMan My wife and I have been going to Living Faith Church of God for about 2 or 3 years, before that I wasn't going to church. It wasn't anything about not believing, I just didn't go. But that has all changed. I go to church three times a week, and I can't seem to read enough of the Bible.
how does that engine stay cool? without all the shrouds and fan it'll get real hot and pop a valve seat, blow a rod, blow a head gasket, etc. other than that, that thing is awesome. very cool looking!
Do motorcycles over heat, pop valve seats, blow rods, blow head gaskets and they have no shrouds either. The same principle, this engine doesn't sit at idle much and when it is being used it is moving much, much faster than a lawnmower. Simple really. Thanks for stopping by.
Thanks Tom, it could be a good airbrush compressor, but I have a silent compressor I built for that, made from a refrigerator compressor that is essentially "silent".
