Nice video! Thoughts on my current setup? Ion Max, Absolute Power, VEBO, Ion Pro, Fate, Hustle RIP (also have a Ruby and Pitch Black when needed). Any changes I should make or anything that overlaps too much?
I think you have a pretty well rounded arsenal, a few more asyms than most. But pretty solid. Only thing I’d add would be a Phaze 2. Strong symmetric solids are always a must. Absolute Power is close strength wise, but they shape very differently. More coverstock on the Phaze 2 as well. I don’t any overlap in your current bag. The Phaze 2 would fit between your Ion Max and Absolute Power/Ion Pro.
great comparison video. I have been liking the stuff from roto grip, I just got the attention star this year but I need a bigger ball for my arsenal. When the gem got discontinued I was a little worried, because I wanted to buy it for that slot in my bag. Now that we have the ion max, I think its a great replacement. Thanks Nick
I won’t be doing that comparison. For me, the Ion Max is way more versatile and stronger overall. Harsh Reality didn’t match up for me. Really early and really smooth. Ion Max fits my eye a lot better.
@@badknees82I have the Gem earlier and smoother. Ion Max is Gem strength, it’s more left to right than the Gem. It’s a really good addition to the line!
Great video. I recently changed to 14 lbs. looking to get 3 ball arsenal for league THS. Looking at Ion Max, Attention Star, n Lightning Blackout. Do u think this would be fine? Or should i add like a Summit Ascent? Thanks
The PBA conducted tests and found the Pitch Black and other urethane balls on the market, were too soft for the PBA hardness rules. So, the IQ Tour 78/U was the replacement for the Pitch Black, on the PBA.
@@stefandieben1141 yeah, bad break lol. Thank you! No, I’ve gotten to 857 once. But, not 900.. hopefully one day! Not many can say they’ve done that one.
Nick, how can I check my axis rotation when I have a full roller release and drilling , how much I want to get away from this and be able to drill and release the ball normally
Excellent question! For a full roller, you have very little to no axis rotation. Which is why you’re a full roller. Do you but your hand all the way in or do you use half your thumb like Tom Smallwood?
Shoot make a feeling on tips to clear your thumb better. My issue is my thumb swells and sometimes gets stuck when I’m trying to release it. I only wish to have your revs lol
It’s a little more complex, when it comes to the thumb. Many variables. 1. It could be too tight or too loose. 2. Your thumb hole could be misshaped. No one has a perfectly round thumb, so round thumb holes shouldn’t exist.. 3. Could be a pitch thing. Either too much forward pitch or not enough. It could be just one thing, or maybe a little of everything. Best thing I could recommend, is going to your local pro shop and get fitted, and if they can’t drill ovals. Run for the hills. 🙃
Great Great GREAT Comparison!!! Your videos are positive proof that you dont need 10-15mins for a great ball video. Let the ball motions talk for themselves. I appreciate you keeping the ball motions the center of attention....and not bragging about everything you've done in your bowling career. KEEP THESE VIDEOS Coming! #GotAFanHere
hi - i have a question. i throw a bowling ball at around 14 mph. The lanes are dry - medium. My question is if this bowling ball is suitable for me? Much thanks is appreciated for your response
@@RONNIEKRAVITZ1 with the IQ Ruby’s smaller core and weaker coverstock, should be a good option for a slower speed player on lanes that don’t have much oil. This ball is really good for dry lanes!
Cool 😎 video Nick wasn't sure about this my buddy storm staffer he has every peice plus my span is similar to his and struck with it. Love REX Infinite and The Road is it similar to the Road or big difference. Thanks 😅
