Hello! I have taken August SAT and scored 1430(v:660;m:770). So, I have one question: How can I improve my Verbal section if I have already done all 6 practice tests? Do you have any plans for improving this score to 1500? I'd really appreciate!
I got 1570 on tests 4,5, and 6, but ended up getting a 1410.. (710 English, 700 math) any advice?? I’m planning to retake it, but I hate how I can’t know what exact question types I got wrong, even with the skills performance.
for test 5 , i was able to manage my time ( have a few minutes left) and ended up getting 660 for ENGLISH. how can i get a 700+ within a month? I'll take my SAT in October huhu
Hey ,I just want to say that your videos really help me to achieve a 1460 on the August SAT 🎉🎉 So I just want to say thank you for making these videos❤.I will recommend your channel to any of my friends who want to take the SAT.😊
Do you have any advice? I scored consistently 1560~1580 ( which was the score I got on practice six) on all of the practice tests. When I watch your videos, they all make sense! I implemented that on my exam but the level of difficulty were so much harder than the questions on bluebook and int he sat question bank. The math section even included a cause and effect relationship type question which I had never seen before... I ended up getting a 1470 on the August exam and im quite upset. Any advice or resources to get harder questions?
@@Spo_ng My understanding is that the English sections are more consistent overall. I’d be curious what people who took the test would say to that question.
There’s nothing that works every time. The variety in these questions is too great for there to be a single solution. I find that a good Dumb Summary of the claim or argument in the passage really helps me sort through the choices. But sometimes the graph is so confusing that I get lost in all the data. My favorite strategy for the graphs is to leave them for last so that I don’t get sucked into them and waste tons of time.
hey, my practice test scores were around 1440-1450, I got 1410 on real test, but it really was much harder, 2 modules of both sections had many more time consuming questions then there should have been(
I know that it’s technically lower, but 30 or 40 points is within the normal range of fluctuation. I probably should have been more specific about that in the video. What made the questions more time consuming? Did the normal strategies that shorten the time not work as well?
That’s still a great score! I know 1550 would have felt much better, but sounds like nervousness was a factor. Anything else I said in this video connect with you?
I like your videos super easy to understand. I wanted to request you to make a video on vocabulary. I am very weak at it. If you can like make a list and show vocabulary words that are mostly used in sat or can come I will be very grateful to you. Please at least consider it once 😇
I’m way ahead of you! Definitely go to my channel homepage to search “vocab” for lots of resources. But you can start here. There’s a link to the word list in the description. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YtBXMiM42lY.html
It's just "WOW!!!" I just opened your channel and started searching for graph question exercises because I found them difficult. But after watching your video, it's just easy peasy. Thank you so much!❤🔥
It’s not completely useless, but it’s a section from the old version of the SAT. I’ve kept them up because there aren’t very many official resources for the digital SAT. Some people find it helpful to see me solve questions, even if the format is old.
The keyword in the text is INCREASE. Choice A responds to increase with “rose more sharply”. Choice D does not respond to increase; “consistently higher” is not increase. It just means at an elevated level or a higher Y intercept.
Hi dear. this mustafa from afghanistan. I have problem with reading comprehension. if i read short articles will they help me to improve my reading comprehension.
Yes, I think so. But make sure you are looking up words you don’t know as you read. I think reading articles is better than reading novels. But nothing will substitute for practicing by doing actual SAT questions.
my dear. your Old videos don't show up as recommended but there are two reasons which i think you should delete them first you could refine their content and use their content in new videos for digital sat and second when first time someone visit your channel and see there are tons of videos they don't want to use your channel cause they think they couldn't find their way through as i thought first and just leave your channel. that is also i think the reason that you don't have lots of subscribers though you are the best while some other channels have more subscribers cause they just look good. thanks
I have hundreds of old videos so doing this is a big project, but I can get started on it. In the meantime, navigate the current videos by using the groupings on my channel homepage.
Some of the videos are available to paid members. Those are the questions that I wrote. You can click the Join button on any video or on my homepage. It’s another level beyond the usual subscribing.
Yeah, probably on Instagram. It filters my messages pretty strictly so some of them get labeled spam so I don’t get the notification, but I go in every few days to check regardless.
I’ll be releasing 2 videos a day on graphs all this week, so make sure you’re subscribed! I think there’s only one more set of them from the Question Bank, which I can tackle next week, but I hope to have my own lesson on them soon too.
Should I be practicing only hard level questions or incorporate both medium and easy level questions to prepare for the SAT? I am a 600-640 range english scorer
I think you should be doing everything. 600-640 tells me you’ve got some skills, but you’re losing points or losing time in a few places. I highly recommend you start thinking about bookmarks (link below) when you take practice tests or even do these exercises. You want to predict whether you’ll get a question wrong before you check the answer. If you’re getting stuff wrong that you don’t see coming, then you are either falling for traps or making careless errors. Those things can happen on easy/medium questions too. Plus, you want to make sure that you’re answering the easy/medium questions quickly and efficiently so that you save time for the truly hard ones. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-atH5msm9B4I.html
MH is equal to NH by construction. There is a simple proof by connecting line MN. Triangle GMN is an isosceles triangle (same radius), and so is triangle HMN. Angles HMN and HNM are equal being complementary angles of angles GMN and GNM respectively.
This is a giveaway question. The graph is a decaying exponential. So b has to be less than 1. Only Choice A has a value that is less than 1. We can still calculate b relatively quickly by taking 2 “accurate” adjacent points since b is a multiplier. (4, 60) and (5, 50) b = 50/60 = 0.833
The vertical asymptote at x = -4 tells us that f(x) is of the form a/(x+4). Thus, f(x+4) is of the form a/(x+8) which leads to Choice C as the only option. Choice C can be further verified with a point from the shifted graph (-9, -6). Get some easy points and move on!
There is no need to use Desmos. (8,0) eliminates A, B as mentioned in the video. (3,2) and (3,4) eliminate C. Maybe do a regression on Desmos using 8,0 3,2 and 8,0 3,4 to get the equations of the 2 lines. Lower line m = -2/5 y = -2/5 (x - 8) 5y = -2x + 16 4x + 10y = 32 Upper line m = -4/5 y = -4/5 (x - 8) 5y = -4x + 32 -8x - 10y = -64
With a = 1, it is easier to find the roots by completing the square. x^2 + 4x = 165 (x + 2)^2 = 169 x = -2 +/- 13 Or x = -15 and 11 The second equation is the vertex form with h = -2 and k = -169. This means that if you know the vertex form, you also know the 2 solutions.
Another system of equations with no solution. We first match the x coefficients by dividing the first equation by 2. 2x = 8y + 1 We now match the y coefficients. ty = 8y t = 8
There are too many ways to solve this problem. 1) vertex form 2(x+1)^2 - 8 2x^2 + 4x - 6 b = 4, c = - 6 2) vertex formula h = -b/2a b = - 2ah = -4(-1) = 4 c = -6 from the graph 3) sum/product of solutions There are 2 solutions, x = -3 and 1 Sum -b/a = -2 b = 2a = 4 Product c/a = -3 c = -3a = -6 4) factored form 2(x + 3)(x - 1) 2 x^2 + 4x - 6 b = 4, c = -6 5) Desmos Do a regression for fun. Set a = 2, c = -6. Solve for b. The quickest and safest is number 2.
In the discriminant b^2 - 4ac, b^2 is always a positive value. For no real solutions, a large value of 4ac would make the discriminant negative. You have the opposite case for real solutions. In this problem, we can eyeball that Choice D has the largest value of 4ac. 4ac = 4(5)(49) = 20(49) which is larger than 14(14) The only other candidate is choice B which gives a 4ac value of 4(49) and a perfect square [one solution].
