Hi, welcome to the channel. To make a long story short, I am and have been fascinated by Elevators for as long as I can remember. This channel serves as a sort of archive of every elevator I’ve ridden, and would like to preserve. I am also a blind person, so love finding mistakes on Elevator braille labels. Probably not as common as you think, but they are out there and yes, they can be confusing. Thanks, and I hope you enjoy my videos!
For those wondering, although I’ve only been uploading for around two years at a time of writing this, this channel has actually been around since late 2009. That’s because this channel did not always belong to me. My father created this account all those years ago and never really used it. around 2013 I started using this account just to make playlists and what not and in 2022 I decided to upload my first Elevator video.
Agreed, no clue why these don’t go all the way down to the bottom. Maybe they do but the panel has one of those layouts where the bottom floor button is between the door controls? I’ll have to look more thoroughly next time, but I’m pretty sure both elevators have the same COP layout, so not sure how that works when it comes to fire recall and what not if they don’t go down to one.
Unfortunately, that’s just the way I recorded it and I didn’t realize until after I already taken the video. There is a better video of these on my channel though thankfully.
These elevators are very nice…do they still have the TVs in them? Also fun fact 57 was originally intended to be some sort of rooftop nightclub, but it never came to fruition
Hi, interesting about the night club thing. I never heard of that. No clue about the TVs. I’m pretty sure they do though. Sorry this video is so short, a better video of these is coming out later this week that should answer your question about the TVs.
Awesome! I rode this back in 2014, but unfortunately I had a data loss around then and the video is one of those that was unrecoverable. I was able to recover one still photo of the exterior of this elevator, and video of some of the passenger elevators. I'll be posting that later this summer.
Awesome! That’s good I’m not the only person that found/took videos of this thing. That’s cool that you were at least able to recover a photo of it. Hopefully you can re-encode the video file one day and get that back as well although since I’m assuming you’ve tried that already, the chances are probably… not great. Guessing this was not the only freight elevator you filmed in Atlantic City? If not, where were some other ones that you found? Did you see the ones in the bourbon tower? They have some low rise ones as well. I didn’t record any of those on this trip, but regardless, I think you’re gonna like a lot of my upcoming videos from Atlantic City as I definitely found some interesting stuff.
Yeah I’m Pretty sure the motors were replaced because they seem a little faster now if you ask me. I really hate to agree with you on some of these Mod projects lol, but this place did need it. There wasn’t really anything wrong with the old elevators cosmetically, but they ran pretty darn slow for the amount of floors they served. Glad they’re speeding them up now.
@@Dwall44 I'm staying here now and the 1st and 3rd high rise elevator has announcements still, the 4th (the one you rode) doesn't and i'm not sure about the 2nd one
@@Ih8kone sometimes yes, sometimes no. Most of the time though I do ride with people so generally I do have someone who can see with me it’s just a matter of will they read all of the signage and stuff like that.
Yeah they did I guess, but I’ve never really wanted to go back after someone very close to me passed away there. The elevators were pretty cool though. They were Dover right?
@@Ih8kone yeah but with the weird floor passing chime and mechanical bells from what I remember. Have you ever been to Chester county hospital? Some cool stuff there too.
@@Ih8kone oh, OK, they had Otis series 1 tractions with slanted panels. Service elevators for something older if I’m remembering correctly. No clue what they were though and no clue if any of it is still original.
Interesting take, I personally disagree because I love the Elevonic system. Why do you think they need a mod? Edit: forgot it was this video and not the newer one I made like six months ago. Guessing you’re saying that because of the obvious controller issues? Lol.
Sometimes yes. Generally no. Sometimes decommission elevators will have the doors sealed or call buttons removed, but generally places won’t pay enough money for that. This one was definitely decommissioned at some point. If you haven’t already, read the description for more info. Thanks for watching.!
