I love this so much, every time I watch it I fill with pride. So proud of my city, I love living here, I have a baby son and I cannot wait to show him this and to tell him how special it is to live here and be a very proud mancunian. On 23rd May 2017 I went in to the school in Greater Manchester where I teach much earlier than usual. I knew some of our students were really excited about the Ariana Grande concert. I think all my colleagues were already there. We were all so worried. We had some injuries but no loss of life. The neighbouring school were not so lucky. Tony is right. Choose love. For all the arguments, that should not even be allocated to a school-yard bullying tactic... Tony was commissioned 3 years before the tragic bombing.. He is giving royalties to the charity.. AND YES.. WE INVENTED COMPUTERS!
What makes you think I'm a Manc? Your initial comments were uncalled for as the poet was trying to console people after a tragic event.I personally thought it was a very good poem about a city I like.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion and a lot of people thought this was utter crap, It was opportunistic with all the lefties standing there with him on the podium to get their faces on TV. Furthermore it was all about Manchester, well many injured and killed were not from Manchester, it was in fact extremely bad taste to focus on their city and not on the lives of the kids killed by the Islamic terrorist scum.
