I’m… so confused how y’all have any sympathy for this cowardly and wicked demigod descendant who committed unspeakable acts for selfish reasons and fittingly failed miserably
Hey man, really nice video! You may have already fixed it in your newer uploads, but would you mind bumping up your voice audio a bit more? Because it has so much bass, it makes it harder to focus on compared to the treble in your bgm. As for Godfrey, I also think it might be relevant to his characterization that Marika told all the demigods to pretty much war or die, and that may have spurned him on to action, evil deeds be damned.
She left to find a new home for the Albanurics. It's theorized that she herself may be an Albanauric because she led an expedition with a large portion of Albanaurics to the Haligtree, but from what I understand, they were pretty unsuccessful. Obviously, she survived because she’s awesome, and a beast (and we fight her there), but I’m pretty sure that like every Albanuric she brought with her died.😢
my theory is that in the most fromsoft way, godrick despite being the weakest and the most insecure of the demi gods is right. looking at Tree and beast surcoat you can see how he is right about the golden order being wrong. this state of the lands between is the result of marika wanting to exclude the beast part of men and her order example:omens are shunned because of their beastly(crucible)looks and godrick is the only person who is using the "true heirs aka dragons"power as they are the original ruler of the land him being the mad idiot grotesque person that he is,is more true to nature and the origin of the this lands than any other demi gods as trutle pope said all things must be conjoined.
If you keep on using the veil it choses other disguises. Some enemies can see you if you if you are moving.Sitting still and moving while they are not looking you are fine.I mess with the black night at the road to lyndell after the lift. You can be right in the way of his path e will not see.Add spells and talisman they see nothing at all. When you have a lvl 713 with all items you can experiment with everything. Most people would think it odd for an inanimate object move by itself,But the disguise itself no matter what it is does hide you,as long as they are not looking at you.And it silenced your feet.
Godrick is cool yes and i love this video. But too many comments are basically painting him as a victom. He was an aweful and gross person who tortired killed and grafted others
I’ve always felt that his death audio sounded like he no longer saw the rays of gold, like he longed to see them again, which makes sense as he would no longer be blessed because he’s resorted to grafting.
Maliketh is a victim of almost everyone one his own half sister two ranni and three us the only use he had is being used by everyone or just overall being given the biggest burden
To be honest, I think Godrick would've become an actual problem for the rest of the demigods. I think the whole reason Morgott was there, was to keep strong enough being away from his grafting. Think about how he used rotten carrior to bring back a dragon, as his own limb. Imagine what that would do with any part of any other demigod. He could've grown in power exponentially up to that point, from more and more powerful tarnished, and Katamari Damacy'd the whole land. Edit: I flat out don't accept Godefroy as canon, it's such a shitty Ctrl+V of Godrick, that all I see it as, is padding out the game, like Astel somehow also living in a cave in a fuck-off dungeon somewhere insignificant.
I also don't see Godefroy as canon. Nothing can convince me that he isn't literally a self-deprecating gag from the devs where they're laughing at their own repaste, and I can roll with that.
I was expecting the commentary to turn more into the esoteric. Someone mentioned the dragon, and how it's a latter generation Dragon too, nevermind the problems that come with consuming dragon hearts. But Godrick was on to something right there. For it was with Dragons that at their pinnacle, represented the totality of life. In the time of the Crucible, a Primordial Elden Ring, where you can see in the weave there exists the domains of many different Great Runes, as well as the totality of Order at its top. He never copped it though. Sure he never even valued the Crucible Knight that was hanging around him to see if there was any thoughts about the nature of Runes and of the Golden Order, of the Totality of Order itself.
Godrick is the coolest looking boss in the game and the moment when u fight him and he starts cutting his hand off so damn epic i will never forget that
First time I fought him it looked like he tried to hit me but stabbed himself and just started screaming and then I laughed so hard I wasn’t ready for his fire and died :(
The first time you speak to Roderika she says that her people went willingly to get grafted. Almost like it was an honor.....It doesn't seem like he was abducting people, where does that information come from? Roderika was too scared to get grafted so she didn't go and felt ashamed. They had some type of belief that getting killed for grafting was a good thing.
Godrick isn’t a fraud because he was weak. He’s a fraud because he’s stupid and cowardly. He could realistically become the strongest character if he just put the work in. I’ve come up with a plan for how he could become Elden Lord. 1: Get off his ass and invade Caelid. Launch various attacks and capture Cleanrot Knights and servants of rot for experiments. Still fucked up, but it’s better than experimenting on kids and random people, and their leader did fuck up Caelid. 2: Really dive deep into the study of anatomy. Learn how to efficiently build new bodies instead of just slapping pieces together. Work on experiments to make normal people, plants, and animals have tiny layers of Caelid animal skin to make them resistant to rot. This will help him align with the reman arts of Radahn’s forces, growing his army. He might even be able to give Radahn a new body free of the rot. 3: Work on grafting to replace misbegotten and omen growths with normal human flesh. This will let him (possibly) ally himself with the misbegotten, getting a few more soldiers (and more importantly destabilize the Haligtree as there are a lot of misbegotten there)(this depends on where her or not the misbegotten want to become humans). More importantly, he could use these grafting experiments to try to make Morgott a human again. This would get him a tentative alliance with Morgott, either giving him a degree of authority over Leyndell’s forces or at the very least safe passage to the Mountaintop of the Giants. 4: Start grafting giants. There corpses are just lying around. It’s crazy how he never tries to get them. Hell, even without everything I just listed he could probably pay the Kaiden sell swords to chop up parts of giants and send them to him since they come from the far north. 6: At this point he’d seriously bolster his forces, becoming the strongest demigod on the map. He might have to fight off the other demigods in a massive war but I’m confident he can make it out on top because of his ability to make alluring promises to many followers of his enemies, thanks to the miraculous science of grafting whose secrets he closely guards. 7: Climactic final duel with Godfrey, then he moves on to Radagon and the Elden Beast. 8: He can go for any of the endings at this point. It’s possible that he comes up with his own idea on what a perfect world looks like but I’m not sure what that would look like. Maybe using the crucible and grafting to give everyone equally perfect bodies to usher in an age where it is impossible for anyone to become stronger than anyone else and everyone lives in eternal bliss under the watch of Godrick (probably not, he’s probably just become the Elden Lord in the normal ending). Godrick’s usage of grafting and his status as a weak, underestimated joke actually give him a leg up on his competition and once they take him seriously it’s too late. Unfortunately this is Elden Ring so he’s a castle-squatting child-experimenting Godfrey-glazing bargain bin Ultimate 4arms lookin ass bitch who accomplished nothing and falls to the Tarnished, an even weaker nobody who actually managed to get shit done.
This would actually make an amazing fanfic. But i do think this assumes too much about the limits of grafting, seeing as Scions are the highest creation of his. I personally believe there is an upper limit that he can hit, which is not very high
Kenneth calls him a "big girls blouse" in one of his dialogues. Maybe that's what the Mimic Veil disguised him as, allowing him to flee among the ladies.
rennala was my favorite character i love how she wasnt even a demigod yet could contend and even beat them in battle before her loss and heartbreak, I do love how they show how debilitating betrayal & having ur heart broken can truly be
Hot take: Godrick is my favorite demigod fight. He is the most horrific of them all, and has the best music in the game besides the theme, the intro music, and maybe the Lichdragon Fortissax battlesong.
I think you missed discussing the thorns infestations in the castle. Did Godrick attract his ancestor's attention with all the deaths from grafting? The castle seems to be slowly coming apart.
What I don't understand is how he expected to get stronger by grafting a bunch of tarnished arms. Way too small for his body. It'd be like a normal person grafting baby arms instead of adult arms. Hell, why not graft a bunch of troll arms, and have weapons infused with every damage type? If I were him, though, I'd be focusing my efforts on claiming Godwyn's still living body as my own, especially once I found out Miquella and Malenia were out of commission.
What I've always wondered is, who is Godrick referring to when he says "We'll return together. To our home, bathed in rays of gold." It can't be the tarnished, Marika is already at the erd tree, he probably doesn't know that Godfrey is alive. Maybe Godefroy or the Grafted Scions?
despite this, i would still serve the lord of all that is golden. to possibly help him regain his humanity and reunite the realms between. honestly i wish we could communicate with him more in the game, maybe even learn grafting from him.
A weak wannabe dictator who is now despised by his own side, insults one race while blaming another race for his own actions.... hmmm sounds more like the guy who's in power now
I feel kinda sad for Godrick, he is a runt of the litter and he tried his best to break this mold, unfortunately he and his rune exist only to bind others to itself.
The only thing wrong in this video is the fact that Loretta is not an albinauric, you can clearly read that on her shield piece and her legs works a lot to control her horse in the Haligtree fight
Limgrave is propably my favourite location, maybe because it seems most "lively" out of the every other major location, others seem like the residents are merely surviving while limgrave and stormveil castle are strongly defended and You can see some action going on (like in morne castle) other than: i'm trying my best to not let this shitshow fall apart 😂
I feel like Godrick gets too much hate He isnt the strongest, or most powerful, but he quite clever I know its just a game, so they can get away with unrealistic stuff But i like to think Godrick was just very well versed in anatomy and medical practice, since he did graft himself so he had full control of his limbs, and in a manner of seconds grafted a dragons head to his arm he cut off. I feel bad for him, it seems like nobody believed in him, he just wanted someone to recognize him, i wouldn't be surprised if grafting become a coping mechanism/distraction from depression of sorts
