Education and Workforce Committee republicans are committed to their masters the corporations. They are trying to fool us thinking that condemning OSHA is a good things because for some reason the don't cover tree workers. I have never seen where OSHA has ever overreached itself and I worked retail. But these republicans do far too much overreach in trying to destroy workers rights. But that does not matter to these republicans only corporations count. The American worker is nobody.

I really think that why all of a sudden it is OK to support Israel when in the tiki torch parade those guys were chanting "Jews will not replace us" and no outcry for saying such terrible things about Jews. Until the war with Hamas, republicans condemn people for supporting the Palestinian people who are being killed. Where was their condemnation for the American men in the tiki torch parade?

“Break the cycle” These students, past and present have been looking up to these “leaders” and truly believe they are getting the best experience at HINU. May even be successful from whom they learned from or known, yet the students don’t realize they are continuing that cycle, whether they want to admit it or not. I have seen how students are after being around the people involved in this allegation, it’s DESPAIRING. The other half of the student body has seen the ugly true side of these people in position, who were in position before. I sure hope for the people under allegations understand for themselves one day that they hurt more people than they think. For them to not feel so entitled but have humility and see that life will continue to grow in goodness, not arrogance. I just hope that the new people at HINU will help and teach all students by not being afraid of moving forward and picking up the pieces of what these employees have broken within this campus. HINU is a beautiful community and there is absolutely nothing wrong with change, and that includes getting rid of pests who have done damage for years.

No one who uses the words 'Big Labor' has the best interests of the workers in mind. These politicians are just cynically using false antisemitism allegations to further undermine organized American labor and make it even easier to exploit workers than it already is.

Jayapal is wrong here. She is supporting antisemitism in unions. Some Republicans are indeed doing what she claims- using antisemitism as a way of attacking organized labor. Jayapal does not recognize anti-Zionism hostility and anti-Israel efforts as antisemitic when they are. She is blind to the Left’s antisemitism. I am pro-union but it is true that antisemitism destroys or harms whatever it touches. As someone who cares about both organized labor and antisemitism this hearing is important least our unions go the way British unions have gone.
@barryklarman2720
@barryklarman2720 24 дня назад
The problem isn’t Unions, it’s antisemitism. Enforce the laws, use the legal tools that exist & this can be taken care of. Antisemites cause antisemitism and they are individuals not the unions. Legal action is where it is at. The Jew hating union leaders who promote partisan and divisive motions need to be exposed for who they are and voted out. No place for hate- focus on wages, working conditions!

It's amazing that politicians support social media censoring lawful, constitutionally protected speach on the governmemts behalf, but business owners can't fire employees from their own busisness as they see fit. If happier employees, that you claim union workers are, are so good for the employers, why wouldn't all employers want only union workers? The government never has to force what is actually good for the citizens, in fact if they stopped "helping" we would all be better off.

@mattbailey6933
@mattbailey6933 26 дней назад
I know these politicians will never say this but every attempt to protect a specific group is unconstitutional as any federal initiative was never intended to benefit any specific group. Also any politicians who use the term "student debt relief or cancelation" should be removed from office. It is redistribution of debt, illegally by the way. Would doing this to mortgages be acceptable? How about auto loans? Of course not.

I'm 15 min and the first democrat to speak just said that public schools are just as segregated now as the 1960s. That is beyond false, it is an outright lie and if we allow politicians to lie like this and stay in office our republic is lost.

Seeing how the Republicans were so focused on proving that Democrats are more antisemitic than they are. Then the dems point out that the Republicans are completely against funding the very office that can handle these hate crimes shows we are at a complete stand still. This was a horse and pony show for both parties to feign responsibility for action while trying to make each other the fall guy. This was designed to show the country that we care about Jewish lives just enough to let them testify but not enough to actually take affermative action. No actual protective measurws will take place just like they are not taking place at our institutions. I believe that things will just get worse before they get better. People have become so desensitized and they do not see the history repeating itself. We are crippling free speech and equality. Both sides are to blame. I do not see any allies for Jews. Do not kid yourselves. This is playing out just like it did before Hitler rose to power.

I find it interesting that there seems to be two conversations going on, which seems to be normal for these hearings. The republicans who seemed fine with the tiki torch parade chant are now complaining about anti-semitism. It is interesting too that republicans are using their time to take pot shots at unions "allowing" anti-semitism and "elite" colleges .No solutions discussed except increased funding for OCR and EEOC by the democrats as I said two different conversations. These hearings are a waste of taxpayers money.

Well, this is another 2 hours I will never get back because this hearing is just another waste of taxpayers money by the republicans The first two speakers were concerned about violation of the NRLA yet the definition of the NLRA (paraphrasing) is protects workplace democracy by providing at private-sector workplaces the fundamental right to seek better working conditions and designating representation without fear of retaliation. John Ring seems to think that this should be a balance of Labor and management. Yet the mission as written on the NLRB website (paraphrasing here) that its main purpose briefly is to safeguard employees’ rights. It says nothing about management. He claimed CEMX case is an attempt to administratively rewrite the NRLA the agency was created in 1935. The previous decision created in 1971 was overruled but this was not the founding year of 1935 but 1971.That is not rewriting the original act so that statement was inaccurate. Ms Stock had “grave concerns” about secret ballots the ruling would favor mailed ballots instead of in person concerned about “mishandling” and increase of “invalidation” of ballots. the 3 cases they brought up were problematic cases. Stericycle has a history of employee-employer problems starting in 2014 Lion Elastomers LLC got into an argument with Joseph Colone for filing grievances about working conditions, from the article it sounded as if there was yelling and finger pointing on the side of management too. CEMEX case there were was intimidation by company hired security guards, spying on employees.

IMO - FOLLOW THE MONEY! These universities represent a “Fifth Column” (“a group of secret sympathizers or supporters of an enemy that engage in espionage or sabotage within defense lines or national borders” per my Merriam-Webster aka M-W). But I prefer the Wikipedia definition: “A fifth column is a group of people who undermine a larger group or nation from within, usually in favor of an enemy group or another nation. The activities of a fifth column can be overt or clandestine. Forces gathered in secret can mobilize openly to assist an external attack. The term is also applied to organized actions by military personnel. Clandestine fifth column activities can involve acts of sabotage, disinformation, espionage or terrorism executed within defense lines by secret sympathizers with an external force.” - Where is the funding coming from to fund these universities? By that, I mean the majority of funding. - Who is/are responsible for selecting/hiring the officials responsible for controlling the universities’ overall performance: the quality of its/their moral compass and ethical conduct, the extent of permissible student/professor interaction, and the degree of accountability for any person or group that is shown to have violated any university policy regarding hate crimes, harassment, and discrimination? - Why aren’t the apparent hate crimes and harassment committed against Jewish students being punished? Not even investigated, as testimony alleges. The level of demonstrable Jew Hatred is irrational. In fact, it seems to resemble the kind of rabid irrationality demonstrated throughout the Middle East. Is there a fifth column at work in the United States? This is not an implausible assumption. Oil money can turn a lot of heads and buy a lot of flunkies, lackeys, and stewards. The better the rewards, the stronger and more dedicated the underlings. Take Claudine Gay, for example. She was “fired” as Harvard’s president but retained at a yearly salary of $900,000. This, despite her inability to define the “context” of genocide, her lack of professional publications, and her propensity for plagiarism. “Hey, I’d buy that for a dollar!” (Quote from the original Robocop movie (1987), taken from “The Marching Morons,” an award-winning speculative science fiction novella by Cyril M. Kornbluth, in Galaxy Magazine, April 1951. The original version is “I’d buy that for a quarter.” Oh, how time and the economy have changed.)

This hearing seems a contradiction, when the tiki torch parade designed for the “Unite the Right” rally chanted "Jews will not replace us". The republicans seem to be fine with it. Not sure why the republicans flip-flopped but I am sure that it is that more Anti-Muslim than it is any support for Jewish people. I also wonder what the purpose of this hearing? What is the expected outcome? Are people who show support for Palestinians going to be censured in some way? pay a fine? Does this committee have the power to censure UCLA? Have them pay a fine? Why are they holding these meetings at the taxpayers expense. It is interesting that we never get any accountability or outcomes of any of these meetings.

She works at what is called Mt SAAC in Walnut Ca. Another Mt. SAAC professor Raul Chavez had organized a presentation on Palestinian history from “an indigenous perspective" scheduled during Native American Heritage Month. The purpose of the presentation was to show similarities of the removal of indigenous people of the US and dispossession of Palestinians during the 1948 Arab-Israeli war. The college immediately withdrew support from the presentation due to a “potential bias concerning the conflict in Gaza,” due to a complaint from a faculty member citing “antisemitism.” That faculty member was none other than Professor Golden. Ms Golden notified several college administrators, and the college police about the antisemitism. She objected to a film called "‘Occupation of the American Mind". The film presents the view that the Israeli government and other supporters of Israel have distorted the truth to the American public about the Israeli - Palestinian conflict. why the film could not have been removed from the presentation is not known but the students would like the presentation of professor Chavez back on the agenda. The pictures I saw on the Mt. SAAC website about the protest did not portray any violence, just some chanting. There are two side of this story and this situation could have been negotiated successfully for both sides without all this drama.

This has been an educational experience, as a senior on social security and a small pension which is helpful because my two 401Ks tanked. This hearing went on too long mostly due to lack of either listening to information on the part of at least one republican and a few of the democrats did not need to thank him. These hearings cost taxpayers' money and the speech about teleworking was completely unnecessary. This hearing should have been over after Rep. Norcross summarized the findings of the hearing.
