I love your tutorials. They are professional, with concise instructions and easy to follow. I bought this pattern on revelry, and currently working on it. Thank you for sharing your talent!❤️
Hi there! There's really no right answer 🤗 It all depends on how many hours a day you can dedicate to knitting and your own pace. The most important thing is to enjoy the process and not worry too much about the time.
@@knitwithesenique Thank you so much for the advice. I'm planning on completing this sweater as a school project. If I was willing to dedicate around an hour every day, do you think the sweater can be completed in a month?
Another wonderful pattern, already purchased and awaiting yarn. Thank you so much for all your patterns, I have already made the mellow mood sweater and top. They fit so perfectly and I have another mellow mood on the needles. Can’t wait to start this too. ❤
Thank you so much for your kind words! 😊 This project can definitely be addictive! Enjoy your knitting journey, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions along the way.
Thanks for your thoughtful instructions. I'd like to knit this sweater with an additional mohair thread. I'll have to use larger needles. Is it possible to adjust your pattern to my different needle size?
Thank you for your kind words! Adding a mohair thread will create a beautiful texture. Since it usually increases the yarn weight by one category, I recommend pairing it with DK or Sport weight yarn (around 125-150 meters per 50 grams). Just make sure to swatch first to ensure you get the right gauge.
Fantastic Pattern and super guide. I love when designers do this. Thank you very much Julia. 😊 I subscribed some time ago. This is my first post to you. Are you knitting the purls with a double wrap on the ralglan lines?
Thank you for your lovely feedback! I’m so glad you’re enjoying the pattern. For the purl stitches, I use the standard purl method without a double wrap. 🤗
Thank you for your kind words! You can definitely cast on more stitches to create a more open neckline. In the set-up round (round 0) all sizes add stitches before starting the yoke. Feel free to cast on any number of stitches for the neck, but make sure it’s not more than the total you’ll need at the end of round 0. Happy knitting! 😊
Thanks for your question! In my experience, superwash wool yarn tends to feel less scratchy, but it can be tricky for beginners because of its stretchiness. If you're looking for something softer, a wool blend with alpaca (like Drops Nepal, Drops Lima, Drops Alpaca, or Hobbii Uncycled Alpaca Blend) is a great choice! These are definitely less itchy and have a nice softness compared to 100% wool yarns. Wishing you a cozy and enjoyable knitting experience! 😊
@@knitwithesenique thanks so much! I am currently making my first sweater with drops Alaska and it turned out to be a lot scratchier than I wanted it to be. I am gonna finish the sweater but was hoping to find a softer alternative from drops so that I can make a softer material for the next time haha 😊
Hello Julia. I have received my yarn (a DK weight cotton blend) at long last. I know I am a loose knitter, so think I will start my swatching with a size smaller needles. I notice that you say to measure the stitches in the stitch after blocking. I have two questions. 1) Should I expect the swatch to be larger or smaller after the blocking? And 2) can I reuse the yarn, to make it a part of the sweater, after it has been blocked and unravelled?
Hello! 😊 1) Cotton blends usually don’t stretch after blocking, but the stitches do relax and become more even, so the swatch might get just a little larger. I usually have a good idea of the gauge before washing, but blocking helps confirm everything. 2) You can reuse your swatch if needed! Just unravel it, wrap the yarn around a book, tie both ends, soak it for 20 minutes, let it dry, and roll it back into a ball. Here’s a Reel showing this technique: instagram.com/reel/C7OjnXvs-fi/?. The trickiest part is avoiding tangling, but using a vase as a stand makes it easier to pull the yarn.
@@knitwithesenique Thank you so much, Julia. All your information is so useful. I did find that it stretched out (width-wise) just enough to make it exactly the gauge you suggest, just as you said. I'll save the swatch in case I need it. I'm just starting the third row of the yoke. Thanks again!
Aww, thank you! 😊 That’s so sweet of you to say! But honestly, it’s the knitting that brings out the best in any outfit, right? 😉 Wishing you lots of fun and stylish knitting ahead!
Yay, I’m so happy you like it! The drop-shoulder construction is fun to knit - hope you enjoy every moment of making it! Feel free to share your progress, I’d love to see how it turns out! 😊
I just found your channel and I am so in love with what you do. Your generosity is huge putting all of this work available for free. I am wishing you only growth, prosperity and success with your present and fututre projects 🤞
I have bought your Mellow Mood pattern and can’t wait to start it and this also looks fun. But I am a new knitter and have only made socks so far. I’m afraid I may not have the skills for sweaters. Any advice?
Knitting is a journey, and I’m always learning, just like you. This grey sweater taught me to slow down and enjoy the process - it truly makes a difference in how smooth the fabric turns out! Never rush through something that brings you joy. So take your time, savor each stitch, and I'll be here every step of the way to cheer you on 😊.
For a 35-inch bust, you can either choose size S with less positive ease or go for size M if you prefer a more relaxed, looser style. It depends on the fit you’re aiming for 🌷
I watched this video tonight and am excited to try it out. I tried to purchase the pattern with the discount but there was a problem and it wouldn’t go through. Perhaps my bank is worried about the transaction in another country. I will try again in the morning.
