Awesome video, really helpful! As someone who is considering both cameras (only in terms of video features), if you could only pick one which would you pick?
You mention the tamron lens won't work in conjunction with IBIS. Is this because it's a non-native/Panasonic lens, so one is forced to choose between IBIS and the lens's optical stabilization?

the multiple record signals as well as the read outline around the screen is a massive deal for me. I cannot count how many times i have "buttoned off" during shoots.

Connor Rickey hahaha doing this really gets me out of my comfort zone and I remember the day of shooting this I was so nervous, even though it was just me in the room. I gotta get over, no better way that jumping In the deep end. Few more jobs and you’ll be on the S1H path! Excited for you bud

Thanks, man! This was such an informative video from someone who clearly understands whats makes this camera so good in real situations for the independent film maker. My GH5 and GH5s completely changed my corporate video work, and based on this I'm looking forward to what the S1H can add. Great stuff!

Great video! Best part about the S1H is all around 10bit even up to 100fps. My wishful thinking is that the GH5 inherits the 10bit 420 of the S1H so I don't need to drop 6k AUD on this beast haha. Atm I'm mixing 4k 10bit and 1080 10bit so I can stay In V-Log L.
This video was way less than shit! Quick question, have you tried recording to the Atomos Ninja V to get a true ProRes 4K 60p 10bit 4:2:2 image? I know they haven't released the raw update for ProRes Raw but I believe you should be able to get your regular flavors of ProRes such as LT, 422, and HQ in 4K at 23.98p or 60p.
SIXTYGRAND thanks mate 🙏🏽 yeah I have the ninja v and and prores 4K 10bit is beautiful. But you can only shoot in super35, not full frame. Looking forward to the update
@@Hoyts_Hillside_Farm Have been using one with the GH5 for years. Has never skipped a beat and is super handy having physical audio dials you don't have to dive into a menu to change.
