I’m so happy that I found these headbands for little girls!! I will be a Great Grandmother in 2025 to a little girl, and I’ll be a Great Aunt to a little girl and also a Great-great Aunt to a baby…don’t know the sex yet. (My nephew’s other children has always called me ‘Mimi’ {so I’ll be a Great Mimi}; then my Great-Niece has always called me & my hubby: ‘Grandma with the Papa’ {so we’ll be a Great-Grandma withe the Papa’!}. Her other Grandma didn’t have a husband. I’m crocheting a blanket for my daughter for Christmas, then I’ll have to hurry and make 3 baby blankets before late March-early April 2025!! But now, I’ll have to play with your pattern so with each blanket I’ll make a couple of headbands to match some clothes and the blanket!!! Thank you again for your patterns and tutorials!! Bless you! 🥰🙏🏼 GREAT-GRANDMOTHER FROM TEXAS

Would it be possible to do this without the second color of yarn? If so, would you need two balls of the same color, or could you make it with only one?
@yarncraftee
@yarncraftee 22 дня назад
Yes it is possible. To be safe, I would suggest 170mtrs of yarn in the same colour. Happy making!

I have been crocheting over 55 years now. I learned at age nine after my mom died. The counselor thought it would help me deal with my grief. My dear Auntie also taught me a lot. I also do some bead work and cross stitching.

I have always liked working with my hands, when young 9-10 years old I learned macrame, then knitting and cross stitch and needlepoint, I stared to crochet just about 10 years ago, with the book I taught myself to crochet and I have been learning more and more crochet from there on. I crochet shawls and lapghans for elderly people living in residences and hospital long care, so this is what I would be doing with the yarn if I win. Like all that you share

Oh i wanted to crochet for years because we had my grandma thread crochet bedspread. She passed when i was under 2. It took a long time to find someone to teach me the bare basics. I was 12 13 somewhere in there when a friend of my mom's needed a babysitter and offered to teach me in exchange for babysitting a couple of times a month. I ran with it from there and kept learning from anyone i could, i taught myself how to read patterns and charts. Now i could make anything lol. Fast forward a decade or so and we had internet and what a wide wonderful place to learn even more.

I learned from my ex Mother in law when I was 16 and newly married. I am not 62 going on 63. She taught me the basics and than I sought out written patterns and went from there. I have RA and its hard for me to crochet at the speed and volumes I use to do to my limitations. But I crochet mostly for gift giving so that it is enjoyable to me and not I have to craft. I do many things as far as crafting I take things and repurpose them and make them into useful items or as gifts.

My grandmother taught me how to crochet when I was around 11 years old ( a long, long time ago). I also loom knit, am learning to machine knit using an Addi, and learning how to weave on a rigid heddle loom. I'm in the process of weaving my first rug on a rug loom. I crochet prayer shawls and baby blankets to give away and am making my first big blanket to give away. I think I might use the yarn for a blanket.

I just typed a comment and now it's gone. Guess I pushed the wrong button. Anyway I've tried starting my projects by crocheting in the back bump of the chain but so far it hasn't worked well for me. I need more practice I'm sure. I know I shouldn't give up because the few times I successfully did it it was much nice than the "usual" way. Thank you
@justagramma
@justagramma Месяц назад
For some reason, Rose, I just can't seem to get the back bump method right. I know that I need to try more.It's kind of like the chainless foundation. I can do the half double and double but my single just keep twisting on me. I need to practice that more also. And thank you for this video. I've made bag handles but really not all that well.

Rose, we've talked on email due to your newsletter so although I'm sure you don't remember all the people you've spoken to there you might remember me as an elderly woman with 2 adult children, and 15 grandchildren as well as 7 great grands although the 7th won't be born until late Dec or early January. As for learning to crochet I may have told you also that I don't remember who taught me to crochet. No one in my family crocheted except one aunt who I didn't find out crocheted until I was an adult with two children. I think I just bought crochet magazines and followed directions. I always wanted to be creative though and tried sewing. I never ended up being very good at that. I started crocheting and I had a friend that wanted to go to adult ed classes that taught all kinds of needlework so my crocheting got better and I've kept doing it for the last 60 some years.I really was still not good at it until I retired 22 years ago and had plenty of time to crochet.I joined a group called caps for kids where we made hats for people of all ages and donated those hats to any organization that needed them.I still make and donate hats but I'm mostly busy making things that my grandchildren request and that I think they and the greatgrands will like. It was great hearing about your experiences and I do remember you changing the name of your blog and you setting up your youtube channel.When I "met" you on your blog there was just something that made me want to stay with your blog and then youtube channel and enjoy your patterns. Thank you

I started when I was 14. My friend taught me. It wasn't until years later that I started really getting into it. Now I crochet, I loom knit and I just received a knitting machine. I like to make stuff for family and friends. I'm actually in the process of making hats and scarves for the homeless since I live where it snows.with the knitting machine because I can make hats in 20 minutes give or take but crocheting is my number one thing. 😊

Not very beginner friendly as it goes way too fast. What is the need for the rush? Also, where is the flower tutorial? I wasted my time doing this to only get to the end and there's no flower tutorial. How could advertise that as the headband and it's not that at all? This is such a clickbait, rushed video. Dislike!

On the size that I'm working on, it says chain 53 for row 1 then on row 2 to 36, chain HDC 38? I got confused... Since row 2-36 says HDC... Shouldn't it be 51?

Thank you! The ruana is simply stunning! Just finished watching both parts. I'm really hoping I'll be able to use this pattern for a fingering weight yarn. I ordered two 875 yard cakes from Hobbii with the intent to make something for my sister. Of course, she said she wants a ruana. I am certain to be coming back to these videos. Wish me luck that 875 yards per panel will be enough.
