This show hated Buffy so much, I swear. Watching BtVS now is just watching Whedon gleefully torture every young woman on the show but especially Buffy. She wasn't allowed to have or keep even one good thing, over and over again.
She's insane. How can she have the nerve to say Buffy was lucky to be the slayer, when she saw most of the things Buffy went through ? It was not her choice, but everyone forced it on her, and she made so many sacrifices for it, with no rewards at the end of it, just because she had to do. They just have an inferiority complex because of how powerful, strong and resilient she is, and they took this opportunity to punish her for it. I think we can all agree to say that in this ep, they were all very hateful, I don't understand why they did this, but at least we got the most beautiful declaration ever from Spike thanks to this 🥲 .
1st Buffy never wanted to be a slayer in the first place, no girl would want to be one. 2nd Buffy earned it when she defeated the Master, she earned it when she was 18 and the watchers and Giles took her powers away and forced her to fight a demon without her power's. 3rd she earned it when she saved hee sister and the world by defratinf a fucking god and sacrificing herself. Ripped out of heaven and foeced to fight again.
The only response I could think of as Buffy is "How many times you saved the world, Anya? Any of you coulda done it _without_ me? Hahaha, Lucky? Have you seen my life? How many slayers before me were this successful? None. I've died multiple times and I couldn't _stay_ dead. You all brought _me_ back. This is my show, this is my mission, and my destiny over and over again. Any of you can leave. I can't. I'm not better than you? You've been doing this a couple years Anya, before that you were a problem I would have had to solve (and did, btw). This has been my entire life, will *be* my entire life. You idiots need me so much you had a stupid robot trying to do my job. I may not be right all the time, but I've made more right calls then I haven't, cause we're all still here. You, Anya, are a failed demon, a failed shop owner, and failed to keep Xander...Xander! Willow's a magic addict who killed people and basically doomed Tara, Xander is a basic jerk who never really improved--there are normal people who are incredible at things with no powers at all Xander, you could have been _any_ of those, Dawn is a child, with basically no skills. Faith is psychotic, and has tried to kill most of us. Hanging with my ex for a while and serving time in prison is not enough to balance things out between us. And again, my record speaks for itself. So we lost a couple times, some people died. This is a war. how many wins do I have? Now, you can offer some actual good advice or get the hell out of my house and go get murdered, or get out of town and live a normal life, something _I_ can never do. Also, being chosen means I *am* more qualified, that's why *I* was chosen. Dumbass."
Anya projecting her inferiority without her demonic power, Buffy was a little obsessed with taking down Caleb but she was always right about what needed to be done.
It pissed me off when anya said that... what did you mean she didnt earn it she sacrificed her love, her life her everything for the betterement of the world. Had her heart broken over and over again and still smiled and put on a proud face for her friends so they wouldnt have to go through what she did. Forget you anya
Imagine being told ‘you didn’t earn it, it was handed to you’ in a room full of people that you sacrificed your own life for. Twice. In your own damn house that you let them live rent damn free… The audacity… the gall… the freaking gumption…
Was I the only one who was happy that Anya died? That almost everyone in that room who turned their backs on her, died. I was kinda hoping Giles would go down in the fight too. He should've had Buffy's back. Even Faith tried it interject, but then everyone turned to her for leadership because she was the "fun" one.
She was better than every single one of those losers. She's even better than any of them to have the nerve to save their lives even after this without demanding an apology: she just brushes it under the rug. Fools
Omg this video is so good and almost mad me cry and you deserve so many subscribers and I love your content and hope you post more about Buffy the vampire slayer and more ❤❤❤❤❤
Buffy earned respect. She lost so much, including her life, to save the world and save lives. She didn't ask to be the Slayer, but she worked hard to do the right thing. What she didn't deserve was the way Anya spoke to her or the way her so-called friends and the Potentials treated her. When Sunnydale was destroyed, I wouldn't have blamed Buffy if she walked away from those around her. They betrayed her and kicked her from her own house.
There's a reason it was called Buffy the Vampire Slayer and not Buffy and the Scooby Gang ... None of the Scoobies knew what she experienced and how. And how do you get off tossing someone out of their own house? Talk about legally they coulda got in a lot of trouble, no matter how bad her plan was. Good thing Buffy was the good guy in the group, everyone else could fall and be forgiven ... Of course, I'm probably older than anyone else in here and watched it as a parent, through my eyes and those of my kids, one of whom was only a couple of years younger than the character. It's an interesting POV. Talent may have been born into Buffy, but the hours of practice, and combat, and self sacrifice were a choice, helped by others, but a choice. From an age already filled with turmoil, not quite adult ... her "replacements" failed, Kendra died because she was too straight forward. Faith because she was headstrong and her original Watcher was flawed. Buffy remained. Buffy was the Slayer. So yeah, pretty much leader ... even if it was a bad plan.
