I am 67 and had PAE 9 weeks ago. Perfect results. Now I sleep fully and wake up to pee 0-1 times a night. Full stream, no urgency everything perfect. I weaned myself off flomax without problem.
I am a fit, non smoking 80 and did PAE on 5/20/24 by a very experienced Doctor. Use to have to go 3 or 4 times per night. Now I only goes 2 times per night, but sometimes 3 times. Smooth procedure. I may have to elect more invasive procedure, but willing to do PAE a second time hoping for better results.

I had PAE, and on the 7th day I felt the results and it was great. My stream was the strongest in 30 years. Some pain when urinating on days 3 and 4 but it was well worth it. I'm 75. Get it done.

So far everyone who I have met, who has had the surgery where is pads or diapers, Once again it’s really all about having clean blood and letting your kidneys do their job with 100% efficiency -he fully catheter takes the bladder and the prostate completely out of the drain blockage. Scenario allows your kidneys to completely drain. while wearing the full catheter 24 seven I have discovered that as 160 pound male my kidneys are capable of processing 3 L per day of urine! I was retaining urine for probably eight or 10 years and I had become thoroughly toxic to the point where I had renal failure ! It only through wearing a catheter full full-time that I am absolutely certain to be draining completely. I feel like a new man, and yes, the Foley catheter is a little bit of a nuisance at first, but I have to be completely comfortable with it and the health benefits of having clean blood far outweigh any inconvenience!
Re PAE: 8:50 After 9 months my prostate shrank only 18%. Now trying to figure out which procedure to go through to remove the huge middle lobe, causing issues now with voiding. TURP, laser, or aqua ablation? So confusing.. seems to depend mostly on the Doc doing the surgery.
7 16 24 .... colorado where the heat is affecting all our lives for the past 18 months 180-medical has been sending a box of 90 catheters every month. si i can do a diy and self-cath. this is an alternative choice to having an op'n. no UTI in all that time. . and i'm talking 18 x 90 = 1600 times doing this procedure. with each one offering a chance to mess up and stick a contaminated tube into my urethra. the (busy) urologist in pueblo ,CO was lacking in offering any support information for the procedure he was pushing at me. his emotional / sensitivity iq was pretty low. my take is he was out to recruit every patient into the system for one treatment or another. and sensing my reluctance to step forward , did a rectal exam of my prostate and walked out the door w/o a word further. and was also not set up for a new patient to talk to any patients who had already been thru it. and so right now i am open to learning what dr wood has to offer. and may change my mind later. it wont be for the cost savings. as those 90 tubes cost me only $22. and driving over to pueblo is not appealing for the traffic intensity. one good thing came from an office visit is one of his staff of young black ladies showed me how to self cath. this lesson was essential. this self-cath 3x / day could go on the rest of my life. the only stressor / oddities from doing this self-cath are occasional changes in the total urine volume for a day or 2. like doubling from the 30's - 40's of oz to 50-60 oz's. one idea is a reaction to something uncommon in my water or diet that body is trying hard to flush out. sometimes too the total is less than avg esp when on hot days i am drinking lots of water. like only in the 20's of ounces total that day its an ongoing anatomy lesson of learning how your kidneys work other ideas anyone ? i seldom use any alcohol and exercise regularly.. and for being 77 am pretty healthy

@@hankhalbert6542 and all is well with the procedure. It did take a full five months for it to show the full effects of it. So be patient. The first two months may not be the best, but it does get better around the forth month and now at the end of fifth month. I would say it's a success!!!. Of course I'm sure some will have better success or worse then me.
