Great vid! How good is the upgrade from the Xt4 to the xhs2? I’m doing a lot of doc web series..? Can it be as good as the expensive FF cameras? I have the new 23 and 33 f1.4 and they are great! 🙌
Pretty huge upgrade from the XT4 I make a living for myself and my wife with these cameras. Sensor size is pretty irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. IMO it is one of the least important things
@@itsaaronmiller nah i was gonna mess around with some bike content as a hobby, picked up an insta360 but now with all that AI rage it doesn't even feel worth putting any real effort into. Can't even buy a new tv or phone nowadays if you like tech, best to just wait and save up ):
My stepmother found a 50mm f1.4 fd lens for 5 dollars on a garagesell.. but it's not the ssc version. Havent tested it... waiting for my adapter.. is it a big difference between ssc version and not? Nice video btw. Can't wait to try it on my xt5 🥳
Your content is extremely good, but man, I just couldn’t stop thinking about how gorgeous the footage from the XH2S looked all along regardless of how great the FX3 was. All of that for 1000$ less.
Greetings! I choose a microphone for my phone, for recording a musical instrument, I stopped at the rode videomic go ii and comica vm10 pro. The distance at which the recordings will be made will not always be close. What would you recommend? Is it worth overpaying for Rode?)
So would you say its usable for focus pulling in a pinch? And can it only transmit if im recordng in 1080 or a 4k image woukd just be transmitted at 1080?
In a pinch, yeah! I'd prefer to run a long HDMI. I recently ran 20ft of hdmi to my focus puller and that worked great. But if it's not super fast racks, i think this would do just fine
So, here's my opinion. I, like most people go to RU-vid for information. While I understand your stance, you don't want to go down the rabbit hole that is gear. You have to see It's beneficial not only to you with views but, for the people who are looking to make a purchase. They may need more information on the gear you are showing. So, for an example my recent video was on a mic and mixer combo. I really wanted to see how it would work for my different use cases . I was interested in this gear . I know I'm not the only and maybe someone else is looking for the info like I was. Hope this makes sense. Another thing you don't even have to review the latest and the greatest just what's been useful to you. Someone will always find that useful.
Guessing you’re a lumix fanboy? No other mirrorless system has shutter angle on their non cinema line. I can just not touch the shutter and switch between 7 custom settings that have the correct shutter angle for the framerate. 🤷♂️
I disagree with the colours. I know if you're a professional color grader any camera will be fine. But Sonys always have a milky sony look to them. Fuji just looks gorgeous every time with pretty much no effort.
One of the issues I found was if the camera is paired to your phone, it won't do pairing with the UltraSync Blue, and if it's synced with the UltraSync Blue, it won't sync with your phone. Disabling the phone pairing seemed to make it more reliable with the UltraSync Blue.
As someone who works dedicated audio on shoots I don’t think Bluetooth is something I’ll be using for sync even with my ultrasyncs. The opportunity for it to go wrong with no fail safe just isn’t good enough. My timecode units need to be able to feed direct into the camera via cable otherwise there is just too much margin for error from my experience. Personally I would love to see more camera companies go down the route of black magic with accepting audio down the minijack input or having a full on dedicated port like on the arri, red and Sony high end cameras. Just my 2 cents, I’m sure for some this feature will be great but personally it makes me nervous 😂
When price is brought into the equation I think the X-H2S faults can be fairly forgiven. Absolutely if you need waveforms and all of that the FX3 is a better camera. But the sensor, for the price, on the H2S is incredibly good. Competing with FF cameras at least twice the price in both DR and latitude. It’s kinda insane Fuji did it. Really looking forward to what Fuji does with future cameras in this line!
