Tbh I did have an issue with it a few months ago on a camping trip. To be fair, it was around 100°f and I dropped the helmet on the chin mount. It came loose on one side. I removed the other to avoid risking losing the camera. I reached out to the company and they informed me that they redesigned the inside of the unit so out wouldn't pull up as much, and sent me a free replacement. This one is working great so far. Used it on 3 trips so far.
It be better if it had a full soft inner liner rather than just a small patch for the wind shield only. Get one heavy windstorm and your paint will be scuffed up
The inner side is a softer material then the outside. No risk of it scratching. My bike has been through numerous storms over the years here in Florida. No issues at all.
Finally found a use for that dongle that came with my bike. Thanks a million! Its a struggle to gets those clamps on the battery terminals. Especially in the dark
The window units are heavier, bulkier (hard to store) and also not as efficient, and with a stand will take even more valuable space. The portable unit can run off of a battery longer then the window unit (better for off grid use), and I get the benefit of a heater in cooler temps. The smaller unit means I can move it around from inside the camper (with hoses) to outside the camper (in the add a room) and just run one hose into the camper to cool it down at night, or no hose to cool down the add a room. It is more expensive but fits my needs much better, If I was car camping, the window unit might make more sense.
Sometimes I see comments on this subject that the polarity is reversed between the SAE and EC5 - is that a concern? I do know there are SAE polarity switching adapters you can get if needed.
That is correct. On my updated video of the jump starter (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-82G_kGM6-xY.htmlsi=TO7YidSH_km1aCzK), I touch on the subject. Yes, it is a concern as some of the newer unit do have reversed polarity (and also proprietary plugs, not standard EC5) and the switching adapters do work. But make sure you get a quality one, as I have had some heat up and melt under the high current while jump starting.
@TheJamesConrad No, it has expired. But if you use the link in the video, there is currently a $39 coupon you can click to bring the price to $89 (only $10 bucks more) still a great value. I appreciate you subscribing.
I already have a tool roll from Wolfman, very strong and not expensive, also get the one from Odinsberg, very happy with those. This time I was looking for a bag for electronics (chargers, cables, battery packs), and after reviewing some of those designed for electronics I realized those are not designed to travel on motorcycle, review few very expensive staff from Mosko, then found this Klim. 100% fan of Klim also, can’t go wrong except for the suspicious low price. I ordered and waiting for it now. Thanks for the review, very helpful! Regards from Costa Rica
Thanks brother, it was great. We love camping, so we try to make it as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. Small price to pay for getting out there more. Thanks for the comment. Stay safe.
Thanks for tuning in 2wheeler fam! This was a learning experience for us. With each trip, we learn more of what to do and what not to do. But, we are starting to really love the new camper, and are excited to get out there more.
I’m a fan of the st1300 and I’m glad you are still using it even though you’re pulling a trailer. It would have been so easy to upgrade the bike to something more prone to pulling a trailer, like a goldwing. I had an st1300 from 2007 to 2009 then I traded it for a new 2009 goldwing. Long story short the 5 generation wing is top heavy for my short legs. I should never have gotten rid of the st. In 2021 I started looking for a second bike and I wanted it to be another st. After 5 months of having no luck I found a 2007 Yamaha fjr 1300a in burnt cherry matalic. Kind of rambling here sorry about that. Long story short keep your bikes and just add to your collection.
I love my St. It's an amazing bike. Very capable and comfortable. Not really made for towing, so it took a bit of work to equip it. They can be hard to find depending on where you live, but a good source is the st-owners.com forum. My next bike will likely be a goldwing. Not sure yet if I'll give up the St. To many great memories. Enjoy the fjr, and ride safe. Thanks for watching
Hey Mike, yes we're getting back out there ( a little tough with the weather here) I am trying to get the second video out as quickly as possible. But to set the right expectations, it's not a full, detailed video about the camper. If you want to see a full video of just the camper, let me know and I can make a detailed video dedicated to the camper. Thanks for watching. Ride safe. Mike
@user-zc5ip3dg7q I put up a new video yesterday, it has a little more detail about the camper and setup. Next camping video goes more in depth. Currently in the edit process.
I have been waiting for this video. Very informative and well thought out. I enjoyed the details of your setup and I'm looking forward to the next video. Well done!
@jerrycrafton9388 Hey Jerry, thanks for the kind words. We are still perfecting it, and are making mistakes along the way (as you'll see in the next video) I hope to have it up real soon. Thanks for watching, and stay safe.
Great Question. I'll explain. First, NO cover will last forever. I've had covers that only lasted a few months, which tear and leak. These last a few years each, and have protected my bike very well. Always dry after rain. Second, I am in South Florida and my bike lives outdoors. The cover is exposed to brutal sun all year round, torrential storms, and the occasional hurricane & tropical storm (extreme winds) so for a cover to last a few years each under those conditions, is fantastic. For most, I would expect it to last much, MUCH longer. Third, Yes, I have collected several sacks, but remember, I have been using their covers for over 11 years now, and I have 3 different covers. One for my CBR, one travel cover (which I have had for over 11 years, and lastly, the cover you see in the video. That one takes the most abuse being outdoors year round. And fourth, and the best part: in the almost 12 years of owning these covers, I have only bought it once. It is the BEST cover you can buy (only once) I hope that explains it 😉😁
Thank you. If I had the jacket i would review it. I can say, we own 3 Klim jackets, a pair of pants, several gloves, oh and a tool kit. They have all been great. No complaints.
I never heard of a bike tire with 15 psi. What kind of bike is it? What size tire? That seems way too low. For reference, my bike tire is rated 42 psi.
Apparently the Spyder f3 does take 15psi. Still seems low to me. The +2, means plus or minutes 2lbs. That would be determined by weight, temperature outside etc. With that said, 15 is probably the lowest pressure you sould put. I've read that most run at least 22 in front and 25 in rear. Again, it is based on weight. The more weight, the higher you should inflate. (Just a few pounds extra) I would recommend to check with a local dealer to be safe.
I bought a noco jump boost gb40, but doesn’t have sae connector to it. It came with croc plugs. I need the same thing like your connector which can attach to noco to sae connector
The link for the cable to connect to your Noco jump boost is working. amzn.to/3huvb5B just make sure it is a standard EC5 Plug as some companies are now making a proprietary connection.
I just checked the links and the one for the cable you need is working. I did update the link for the booster (thank you for the heads up). If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
I have had a set on my CBR1000RR for the past 6 years and I absolutely love them. They haven’t let me down. My question is; how do you set up the overlay feature you talked about? I tried to look it up but can find the info. Thank you. If I end up being selected for your set of FOBO BIKE 2, I will install them on my CRF300L Rally. Thank you.
Start the app, then click on profile (right bottom corner), then look just under theme color and you'll find overlay services, tap and you're done. Hope this helps, and good luck.
@@MRMRS2wheeler Thanks for the reply. Perhaps it’s because I am using an iPhone instead of an android but I don’t have the overlay feature located where you are saying. Under Theme colour is “Long Alarm” for me. Thanks anyhow. I appreciate your help.
Hey Mike, I traded my ST1300 on a Goldwing and I'm glad I did. It's much better for the type of riding we do and my wife loves it. Thanks for the video. I'm looking forward to your camper videos. Cheers!
@@jerrycrafton9388 Hey Jerry, I know eventually I will end up with a goldwing too. Glad to hear you don't regret the decision. We are trying to get out and camp in the camper real soon. Ride safe buddy
Great review Mike. I added the FOBO Bike 2 TPMS system to my st1300 last year and it works great. So much so that I'm thinking about installing a set of the FOBO Bike 2 tpms sensors for my son on his Suzuki GSX-s750. It's true what you said about the battery life. I got about 3 months from the first set, but the peace of mind is well worth it. Good point about the T valves as well. I have the metal 90 degree valve stems installed on my st1300 during the last tire change, but I think the T valves is the way to go. I would think that it makes it a heck of a lot easier to top up the pressure when needed. Something to be considered for my next tire change. Great review buddy, glad you're back at it. Thanks for posting.
Yeah, the batteries included aren't great. I found using Energizer lithium gave me much more battery life Glad you're enjoying your fobo sensors, and yeah the T valves are definitely worth getting. Thanks for watching, and good luck with the giveaway 🤞
@@MRMRS2wheeler thanks for the lithium battery tip. Another thing I found that helped save battery on the second set was to force shutdown the Fobo app when done riding, if not then I would be getting real time pressure readings while I was in my house when I was close enough to my bike. That’s how good this product is.
I've been there before, is not fun. To be honest, I don't feel as comfortable with gloves as I do without, I have tried about 10 different types and non feel comfortable, some actually hurt. On any long rides I wear gloves. This was a short test ride, just a few miles from home on a local road with speeds around 30-40 mph (except for riding one exit on the highway). That's not to say I can't go down, but I guess I'm more willing to take the risk. I do appreciate the concern and taking the time to voice it 🙏
It's March 18th, 2024 and the price did go up to $33. I recently ordered this for the same reasons you did. BTW, another great option for Motovlogging is the Osmo Action 4 paired with the DJI Mic 2 via Bluetooth. Clean and wireless. The Mic 2 can be held in place in the chin piece with rare earth magnets.
WOW, that is a big jump in price. I'm guessing it's due to the beginning of riding season. I still think it is worth the price. I'm very happy with it, you will be too. Thanks for the tip on Action 4 with the DJI Mic 2, I would love to see (and hear) a video of the quality. Drop a link if you have it. Ride safe and thanks for watching.
@@MRMRS2wheeler I think the inflation factor has more to do with the price rise than anything else but either way, we are paying more for everything. I like the simplicity of this product. There are lots of videos with the Mic 2 paired with the Osmos Action 4. Total cost for both is $400 right now which is a great deal considering the quality of both products. I don't tend to publish videos with me doing the talking.
@@underthedrone2735 im sure inflation plays a big role. I will definitely look into the action 4 as I have had issues with the Gopros, they are not reliable. The only issue I am seeing at the moment is the fact that you can only connect 1 transmitter mic, and we use 2.
@@MRMRS2wheeler It can only bluetooth one TX at a time but if you get the set with the receiver I think it will do two. Of course the Mic 2 alone is only $99 but the full set is around $350 so that's a big jump in price. There may be other ways to skin that fish but I'm not to that level of savy.
@@underthedrone2735 I have done some research, and it only allows one transmitter over bluetooth as you mentioned. In order to use both, I would have to connect the receiver to the camera which defeats the purpose.
@MRMRS2wheeler yes just bought a 2007 ST1300 it has 50k miles , bought it from original owner. Reason I asked on mileage, I was wondering how many miles I'll have left on this bike. I Hear people sometimes have alternator issues.
With proper maintenance, I have seen st1300s with over 200k miles. Maybe people ignore scheduled maintenance and just ride until something breaks. I haven't Heard of many issues with the stator, more of the ECU which is becoming impossible to find. I replaced mine about 2 years ago. Take care of the bike and it will take care of you. The motor is bullet proof and can give you many years of service if you take care of it. You should join the st-owners forum, great folks and lots of useful info on these bikes. Congrats and enjoy your new ride 😁
