Welcome to the Kim Hewitt channel. Adventures of a travelling couple. Working to travel.
In 2018 Kathleen said to me, "Let's do a five year financial plan". This was basically a plan to work, save and finally do some travel as I reached retirement age. So I told Kathleen to write down 5 countries on a bit of paper and I wrote 5 countries on the same bit of paper, then I asked her to put a $ sign on the least expensive countries (third world) and $$ on the first world countries. Once completed I asked her to put one $ country and one $$ country together. Finally adding a future year next to each pairing and that is how this channel began. Our five year plan became our travelling the world plan.
thank you so much friends <3 it was a pleasure to have you with me and hearing your kind comments about me means a lot to me. i hope to see you again soon
Enjoyed watching your videos. But the views on the video are not increasing. I analyzed your RU-vid channel and saw that your channel's video seo is not good. So your channel is not growing. Doing SEO will increase views and subscribe
Interesting. I was comparing this with my 1981 train trip from Sydney to Broken Hill: overnight to Parkes, anachronistic breakfast stop in station restaurant and change of trains to the "Silver City Comet", a railcar-pretend-streamliner sort of train repowered by Detroit Diesel truck-type engines (visible to me through open access doors at some point). The train actually had a dining section with table service. At one desolate point the train stopped for a lineman to repair a broken phone wire trackside, they let me out to take photos. Broken Hill had big old abandoned mine buildings (walking distance from station) with 1952 calendar still hanging on an office wall. Return trip to Sydney overnight on the Indian Pacific. Modest speeds and rough track in places. A trip back in time!
Great video. It does show one thing though, and that is how loud the engines are on Xplorer/Endeavour cars. (even over the music) They actually grate after a while. So dated now, but don't expect anything else for a long time.
The new CAF Regional trains are being delivered at the moment that will replace these Xplorer units. They will still feature some noise because just like Explorers on the video, the CAF trains will have underfloor engines.
I'd be a multiple offender. Darlinghurst Goal is all sandstone. Callan Park Lunatic Asylum viz Kirkbride Buildings are wonderful sandstone; I worked ward 8 mainly.
Hey thanks for this upload! How exposed is the climb? I see in some parts there is something like a rail guard and also rope, is that present throughout the whole climb? Did you have to use any actual climbing gear? Sorry to hear about your uncomfortable experience, glad you made it to the top safely!
Oh my god what was that written on the bed At Cinnamon Village ?😂 Hope you brought that to the attention of the management . Otherwise someone there will keep spelling Holiday like that. 🤦🏽
Thanks for sharing. This is one trip that I wish I had done when living in Sydney prior to moving in 1981. I have been as far as Orange on that direct line, but no further. I have also been to Mudgee by train via Lithgow years ago.
@@AustNRail Does the train still go to Kandos? I thought it was cut off at Lithgow. It really doesn't make much sense why they just couldn't keep the Mudgee trains going. yes, extending the line to Dubbo via Mudgee would be a great idea. Unfortunately, governments never seem to know what most of their voters actually want done.
@@RGC198 you are correct, no passenger services beyond Lithgow towards Mudgee. There is however regular freight trains. I looked at all the stations along the route and they are in great condition. I’m certain the train would be popular if the line was reinstated back to Mudgee. I know I would head up there and check out the vineyards.
@@AustNRail Years ago, my wife and I traveled from Sydney to Mudgee by train and it was great. We had to change trains at Lithgow, where a rail motor ran between Lithgow and Mudgee.
Apparently, the fireys score the landings and put the score up on a noticeboard for the pilots to see. We're heading over there next month, looking forward to it.
