I tried the Cocoa Butter Cashmere in a candle. I don't know if I didn't get my fragrance load percentage right or not but I can barely smell the candle. It's a pretty scent just not good hot or cold throw in my opinion.
@artfulglowcandle
@artfulglowcandle 3 месяца назад
Thanks for sharing your experience Jacqueline. I made a candle with this fragrance oil using coconut wax at a 9% fragrance load, mixing it into the wax between 185°-190°. After letting it cure for over two weeks I found the cold throw to be pretty good average I'd say and the hot throw was actually above average, pretty good as well. The performance can definitely depend on the type of wax, the temperature at which you add the fragrance oil to the wax and the cure time, which ideally should be a week or two depending on your wax. Hope this info helps for your next batch!

Wish you would give names of foreign suppliers you use. Also names of local suppliers that you use for special blends. Need more detailed information for us new guys
@artfulglowcandle
@artfulglowcandle 3 месяца назад
Thanks for your comment! For foreign supplies we sometimes use Lark Artisan Supply in Canada. Locally in our area we rely on California Candle Supply and Makesy. I suggest trying a Google search to discover smaller suppliers close to you as there are many hidden gems out there. Hope that helps and happy candle making!

Hey Christian!..great video,I'm a local (just over the 405 from you in Santa Ana)...you mentioned maksey is local and you can pick up and not pay shipping....how do I do that?..do they have a storefront..or pick up only?...and are they in Irvine or where are they cause I recently ordered some wood wicks and they were shipped from near Houston Texas..I will be subscribing to your channel to support you...I am a few months away from really launching a proper candle business...wish you succes!..and please let me know about makesy pick up if you can..Thanks

Hey Eliezer, thanks for reaching out! Absolutely, Makesy is based in Irvine where they have their headquarters along with a small showroom. Most of their products, including fragrances and vessels are usually available for local pickup. I'd recommend checking their website to confirm the availability of items you're interested in. I just covered my recent visit to Makesy in my latest video about their new fragrance oils - it might give you a good idea of what to expect! Best of luck with your upcoming candle business launch and if you have any questions or need some tips, feel free to keep the comments coming. Happy candle making! 🙂

I’m glad you found the video helpful! I haven't tried Virginia Candle Supply fragrances yet, but they're on my radar! If you're venturing into coconut apricot blend wax, I really like makesy - they've got free shipping for orders over $149. Plus I can hook you up with a 10% off link as I'm an affiliate. Check out our RU-vid profile for the link and don’t forget to use 'ARTFULGLOW10' at checkout for 10% off. I’m also working on another video about their fragrance oils so stay tuned. What is the optimum storing temperature for hand poured candles. And bulk soy way storing? Starting a tiny side hustle to encase my vintage decor biz.
@artfulglowcandle
@artfulglowcandle 4 месяца назад
Hi @karenschmidtke8129 great question! The optimum storage temperature for hand-poured candles is generally cool and consistent ideally between 60-75°F (15-24°C). For bulk soy wax, it’s similar, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent any quality deterioration. This helps maintain the wax’s integrity and the candles’ fragrance. Your vintage decor biz sounds wonderful and integrating candles will surely add a charming touch to your offerings! Wishing good luck 🍀

I’ve tested most of their spring collection. Morning raindrops performed very well. Loveberry crush did not throw well, at all. I was disappointed because OOB it was a fizzy fruity smell. Laundry day also did great, but was sold out when I went to order a large bottle. Woodland hideaway is also a winner for me. Very berry bliss, winner. Sunkissed paradise and wildflower whispers didn’t wow me oob, so I did not test them.
