The jig is nifty. Is it shop-made from scratch? I have a spoon mold that I inherited from my grandpa. it came from the old country. We farmed and apparently we made our own spoons for ourselves and neighbors. Something to do in winter. I'd like to try to cast a spoon from my families mold too and was wondering if there is a relative easy way for me to rig such a jig too. Maybe from an existing tool? I don't have a metal shop... but I do have an old Craftsman drill press from the olden days when heat treatment was taken seriously and some hand tools. Would you have any advise to get me started on attempting such a jig?

Hi John: I have a project that I want to spin out of 1/6 copper sheet. It is a tapered tube, 1.100 OD at the large end tapering down at about 1.4 deg per side to .440 OD, 8 inches long. Is this something you can do for me ? lbmason71 at comcast dot net
The antique mold is made from bronze and dates to 1750-70. Originally, each mold half would have had a short wooden handle and one person would have held the mold together while another person ladled in the molten pewter. The jig in the video allows a single person (me) to complete the entire process.
