My pleasure :) I use mini ceramic stones. Usually the 0.9x0.9mm little ones. 400 and 1200 grit are my go to. They also have some larger flat ones I use as well. Best to get a selection and find what suits you best :) You can get these from Gesswein or Artco
@@picturesinmetal9210 Thank you, sir, for your generosity. I've have been an engraver for many years, mostly trial and error taught. I feel like I learned a lot just by watching your process of measuring and marking . Thanks again!
@@mohammedhossain1413 yeah I think so....I don't always cut like that. If it's smaller I'll use a V for everything....I mix it up quite a lot. But give it a go and see how it feels for you :)

Electronics guy here. I love seeing different workbench setups, including the non-electronics ones. Thank you for sharing, this was really cool to see. The vise is particularly neat.
The camera is attached to a magic arm (articulated camera arm) thats clamped to my scope arm. This brand is Manfrotto. Its a heavy duty one to take the weight of camera and macro lens (which is a bit weighty)
@@picturesinmetal9210 Hey Nic, I had one more question. What type of macro are using? I am looking into getting one. Is there any other lenses you recommend as well?
@@mohammedhossain1413 Its a 100mm Canon macro lens. It does the job for my videos and jewellery photography but it's quite old so I'm sure there are better ones out there now. A mirrorless camera cuts down on weight and size. The 100mm lens just means I don't have to get insanely close to get a good shot.
@@picturesinmetal9210 Appreciate the help, my sister has an only Nikon DSLR, I'll go ahead and mess around with it. Look forward to seeing more of your videos.
Amazing talent you have. You have inspired me to pick up some hand engraving tools. I own a bad@$$ laser and hand engraving puts it to shame. Subscribed. Loved the music too!
Thank you for the kind words! Well a laser can be a great supplement to hand engraving. I wish you all the best in your hand engraving journey...its a fun one :)
Do you know where to get a desk like this? I’ve seen only a couple people online with this setup but I’ve never seen this on a website, one which has the center open. Looks optimal for engraving or setting
It’s interesting to me seeing this aspect. In all honesty I have a bit of a graveyard for some of the same reason as you stated here what happens to me now when I go back to them i don’t like My prior work and feel i failed. Your work is all good top notch so imagine you don’t have those issues. Also some of them I hit a road block and can’t decide how to proceed. Luckily and thankfully you helped me recently with those earrings u def similar circumstances. Thanks for sharing
Hey dude. Yeah when I re-visit something I tend to find faults in it like we all do so it's hard to continue, but I feel being a successful artist we need to see past these and get on with it....which is easier said then done LOL :P Yeah the decision of which way to go with a design is hard...especially with significant material and labour costs involved. I'm glad I could help with those earrings dude :)
