Wow, Jack, your practical advice throughout this interview is some of the most helpful I have heard. I am a woman over 60 and awake less than 3 years. I have grown sons who woke up and left the org before me and they struggle because of job dissatisfaction and wishing for a better sense of self. I will share this interview with them for sure. You have a talent for learning and conveying that knowledge to others. I am not nor never of the JW church yet I do see that church and its members in my community, which is a fairly large city and sprawling metro area. In most cases, those folks were born into JW families and their religious mindset becomes their future. I hope they see your video to shake them up. Yet, I wonder if all of us non-JWs carry similar baggage about some other topics. We should all assess our lives regarding racism, genderism, nationalism, wealth or social classism, and any other in-group mentality. Of your 10 messages, my favorite one, (at least, for today,) is: "Do not confuse Conformity with Unity." Thanks for that.
You’re spot about born-in JWs and how that becomes their future mindset. It’s very unfortunate because without realizing it many take a vow to poverty and cannot live their true potential. And I agree with you that we should all assess our lives regarding a lot of social topics. In fact, when I woke up from the cult, I realized that mind control came in different forms.. corporate, social media, politics etc. This was another awakening for me lol . Wow even Catholic’s have old age homes for their priests and nuns . Protestants run old age homes for seniors . JWs just kick you out of Bethel if you’re sick or too old.
Excellent, professional presentation, I think many JW's will relate and find this helpful. I know I do on so many levels. Hopefully you can continue sharing your journey. I am still PIMO working on gradually waking up my wife and it has been a VERY difficult time waking up. I started waking up a few years before COVID and completely woke up just before COVID and went through some VERY dark times. Therapy and practicing mindful thinking has made a huge difference and hopefully I can get to where I have a purpose in life, now that the only purpose I had in life is gone. As a JW you are tought from birth that there is nothing for you in this life except to serve the organization with "paradise" or "the real life" as they like to say, coming in the NEXT life. When all that goes away one can be left with no hope, no purpose especially when being indoctrinated for some 40 years. Its good to hear life experience from others and how they have coped. Thank you

I didn’t realize how much door to door past influenced my poor business senses until I heard you spell it out. How did you change these things?
I love what you've done! I have the same story, only I'm struggling so hard out here, after leaving the JW "worldwide organization" also losing family-friends. So much trial and error and hamster wheel job burn-out. Im realizing can't keep this up alone. Im going to have to try something new and work with successful people.

I could never understand why people would want to live forever and do it with just JW!!! So once you've watched, listened, read, spoken to everyone and done everything you still have eternity. And where is the evidence that it's true anyway? Pure cult tactics, make people frightened and offer a solution, ever lasting life. But the solution would turn into hell on earth logically.

Excellent interview. The WT is a realestate empire a business empire. A pyramid scheme. Do what they do not what they say. Soo true. A few of the elders in my congregation were successful business men who got rich and successful because they did the same. Applied the skills they learnt. We get comfortable being uncomfortable instead of being uncomfortable being uncomfortable and move to growth.
There was a guy working at Bethel that called out Knorr for marrying when it was then against the rules. Well Knorr kicked him out and he died on a bench in a park. They are simply children in men's bodies and if you stop making them money and start costing them, they will cut you loose. I had an elder say to me one time "if you want to be disillusioned just spend some time at Bethel". I never ever wanted an institutional life style so never cared to go to Bethel. I remember a young couple all smiles because they were chosen to go to Bethel. Six months later they came back for a visit, she lost a lot of weight but the thing I noticed, the smiles were gone, replaces with fake smiles.
The disillusion is real. They even had this saying for brother’s going to bethel “went down as a boy, came back as a man” .. Yikes! 😳 little do people know what really happens to a persons growth.

Unhealthy relationship with fear? Check! I spent most of last summer in a blacked out drunk state, doing things I didn’t remember but regretted when I found out. I couldn’t handle life because of the fear.
Wow 😔 sigh so sorry to hear! Fear is so paralyzing especially without a community! And it’s true, we do things to avoid that discomfort. So glad you came out of that my friend 💪 Here’s to our new found freedom !! ♥️
Yes. Young and old alike. I’m 48 and wish I had this last summer when I first woke up. The process messed me up and I completely lost myself for a while. This video would’ve helped tremendously.
@@LostPoMoWoman wow congrats on waking up also. It really seems like there's something big going to happen soon with people waking up. The best thing we can do is be there for them!

That money phobia is a real thing. Thankfully, I had a unique set of experiences that allowed me to change those limiting mindsets and reach my full potential.

Thanks, I enjoyed your video on fear and our zoom meeting today. I know I made the connection between fear and anger a very long time ago. I had been dealing with anger more so recently. However I like your video because of the idea of learning from what is focusing our fear/s. I hadn't thought of fear as a teacher before. :)

I recognize there’s definitely something more to it than just a negative emotion … maybe there’s room to look at anger differently as well 🤔 ♥️ You gave something to think about!
Thank you for sharing your personal tidbit. Termination of a relationship of any kind can leave unseen scars on your soul making it difficult to move on to anything meaningful in your life. And yes, that includes your personal feelings and thought processes.
