Nice version of this Johnny Mercer/Jimmy Van Huesen classic. The musicians and the vocalist on the date are all terrific. They have good musical chemistry ; I'm not a big fan of scat singing, especially with jazz standards. That part of it I thought diminished the performance. The reprise after she said thank you, when the musicians started playing again was a nice finishing touch.
This is the lady who sang at the Iridium club in NYC nice..I hope we get tickets for her Dec 6 show that's my birthday fingers crossed....hint hint lol

Omg! The most fantastic version of this tune ever. I had been studying the tune Just Friends by various singers when, wham, right to the heart. Poor me is not familiar with this beautiful songstress but will be listening to everything she's got on youtube and then some.

A few mentions of Sarah Vaughan's version here.........'Live in Japan' (1972). There is also a studio recording on 'Feeling Good' (1971). Anyway, there is another version by SV on youtube recorded in 1973 at the Continental Baths,(2nd tune), NYC. The video must have been left in the steam room but as always SV was in fine fettle and hilarious.

Really LOVELY singing, and fine collaboration by the combo. I'm a niece of the composer, Walter Gross. Thank you for doing the song. Do you know his "How Will I Remember You?" Here's Rosemary Clooney. She recorded it twice; this is the later recording. There might be a digital skip near the beginning.
