Join us on a journey across the map in pursuit of the greatest gamebird God created. This coming season we will be documenting our adventures, as we hope to do a little more traveling than typical and try to add a few more states towards our quest for 49. Of course since we are avid waterfowl hunters in addition to Turkey addicts.. you can expect some of that as well while we wait for spring, as well as any and all of our outdoor lifestyles in this cherished land between the Delaware and Chesapeake bays. Please like, follow and share.. and welcome.. to the Bayside Legion
Nah, it doesn't stink to shoot a jake. While not the goal, I was amped enough from this hunt to make an error in judgement and it is at no fault of this bird. He was celebrated and appreciated no different than if he had 1 1/2" spurs. No apologies. No excuses. And yes, I had an opportunity to position correctly on the flock behind me. All came down to which birds I thought would get there first. I chose wrong!
@@TheBaysideLegion it was an exciting hunt. I have had that happen before as well. I now try to turn to a position where I can shoot one in front of me or turn to the left to get one that comes up from behind.
The many opportunities I had of turkeys being in shooting range just on the other side of the property line, I could of shot, but had to do the honest thing and waited for them to cross over onto our property. Honest hunting ethics is key.
That is cool. I would say lucky???? Maybe not, lol. Dang, after getn over the shock of how that played out, I know that was a hell of a feeln. Congrats.
Love the videos keep them up brother have ever gobblers you call they answer 3 times I close the distance set up and they shut up I’ll sit for 45min soft calling on and off or even sit there quiet in case he slips and zero any tips
I dont understand this " standard " for turkey hunting came from. Its kinda annoying actually. If a person is turkey hunting by the legal means of their state how is that any less of a hunt. Man turkey hunting already hard enough.
May we suggest looking into a book called "The old pro turkey hunter" by Gene Nunnery. It is quite dated, but in today's day and age, now more than ever with the "kill at all costs" mentality, there is a need for a "standard"
@@TheBaysideLegion gotcha. Any thoughts on the best ones. Was thinkn of trying one this next year. Would have had some good footage this year if I had one on my gun.
Most guys give up after day or two of nothing. Appreciate how hard you work to find one. That's what it takes. Persistance is definitely a key to be a successful turkey hunter. Those low days make finding and harvesting one that much better
Perseverance pays, no doubt. Once we realize that with time, birds will go back to being birds, it changes the way you handle a mistake, miss or spooking them. Has definitely helped me! Sure love watching you guys! I'm always learning something! Even if it's how go find clovers lol!
