Welcome to Living Ironically in Europe. A channel where I give my unwanted opinion about other people's countries as well as of my own. Here you can find cynical travel videos showing the good, the bad, and the ugly of Europe. No fake positivity here! And also videos showing the weirder lesser known things about Europe.
There's a new video every 2 weeks. 1 video will be a travel video, where I actually move my lazy ass and go outside to film. And the other video will be some filler European culture/history. I got uni, I can't travel all willy nilly. I'm not a millionaire... yet...
So yeah, if you think this channel is the place for you, feel free to click that subscribe button! And if not, idk... go watch some my little pony friendship is magic or some Balkan Info or whatever you're into. Weirdo.
Na thing is that the west is weak right now but nato and the usa economy still dominate. This sort of things happen every few years world war 1 and 2, 70s economic crisis etc.
The only true definition of Ballkans is the collection of nations that actively try to steal bits and parts of Greek history - this is what unites Balkaners, their spite for not having been born Greeks. Disagree? OK let's test the theory : ever seen any Balkan nation trying to move north/west? Never. They know only one direction, south. For some reason they hate the Adriatic and Black Sea, Adriatic and Black Sea just doesn't cut it for them.
I love how how he repeated the sentiment "only we can talk shit about our own" which my mom has been teaching me since childhood 😂. Ah the Balkan mindset, you can't not love it and hate it at the same time.
Serbia is living in the past, refusing to let it go, dwelling in its traumas. No future for Serbia unfortunately. I understand that they were treated unfairly, but everybody in the region is happy except for them. They need to get over this toxic nostalgia and just move on - join the EU, and work on their development. It seems that ruling class in Serbia keeps reviving that Yugoslavia evil NATO narrative, which is despite being true to some extent, help absolutely nothing
I've been learning Spanish for 1.5 years. Turns out, having a native speaker girlfriend who barely speaks English provides a lot of motivation. As far as apps go, I really, really like Rosetta Stone. You learn by reading, hearing and speaking the language while looking at pictures that show the meaning of phrases. It doesn't have any dedicated grammar lessons, you just pick it up along the way by repetition. I also absolutely detest memorizing lists of vocabulary and conjugations. Again, Rosetta Stone just does it by repetition, your brain will pickup the rules along the way. It feels very intuitive to me. On the other hand, Babbel was a complete waste of time for me. It's method does nothing for me. So often you get shown some tidbit of grammar and are then expected to have memorized it forever. I'd also recommend immersing yourself in the language as much as possible. Be it speaking to native speakers, watching movies or listening to podcasts/music. Next step: moving to Spain.
