As an undead member of the Horde, it hurt when Varian died, even more so because I never liked Anduin and couldn't see him as a good king for the Alliance. But after Varian's death and as the story continued in the previous expansion until now, I've changed my mind. He is a king.

This is years late, but WHERE did that picture of Varian and Anduin playing in the snow come from?? What a joyful and carefree picture! For two people who were often so troubled, and sometimes had a contentious relationship (even if they loved each other very much) seeing that picture makes me so happy - just looking at the smiles on their faces . . . makes me want to cry. I'd like to know the context, if there is one.
While I like a music and Anduin's story was interesting I can't perceive him as anything other than as Blizzards goody two shoes who kids can find relatable whose aspirations end up at empty platitude "I want peace!" without making any steps to achieve it. He is basically angsty teen forced into Kings role and hating it but at the same time he does nothing to pursue his true dream. Seeing conflict between his efforts at pursuing peace and his duty as a king would be so much interesting.
2 years ago I was listening to this theme when I got the call my Grandma passed away. Now when I hear it I think of her. Today, Oct 27 2019 marks 2 years she's been gone..... it was also her birthdate.
I compare the pace of this thematic song to a flower that is about to fully bloom. Starting with the flute, and ending with a full orchestral theme right at the end. At the start of the song you can feel Anduin's doubt to lead the Alliance, and right at the end when he meets his father that his conviction is restored.
