MY GOODNESS!!!!! I miss our era of music and the DUB versions!!!! Almost brings tears to my eyes of how good this music sounds and how much i miss it!!!! Thank you LORD for letting me live through this ERA!!!
This song makes me feel as good as a person can possibly feel. It is only one of the MANY songs you two have written that deserves a Grammy!! Thank you for staying together and continuing to share your gifts Fellas!!!!
This song is so different and yet so familiar because of the unique Chemistry. This is an absolute treat to be able to hear an alternative mix of this special song.
You 2 Guys are the absolute best! My biggest inspiration as a duo. Thank you both so much for your incredible talents and Musical contributions to this Earth. I CANNOT wait for the new album How can I order it?
I Love this soo much ❤❤ 🙌🏾, one of my fav songs from them (of course including DDTG). I Love how they remixed records and sold the songs separately....ahh the good ol times lol.
Hi. My name is Joe Evett and I am from Boise, Idaho. I turn 55 in October. Seeing this video and hearing the song for it is seriously fun! The hair, the clothes, the style, the sound, the HUMONGOUS keyboards. Ah, the 1980s: an age of plastic and reverb. The bigger you were the bigger you had to become, in order to stay relevant and popular. I was between 15 and 20 when The System was in The Big Time. At the time I was only vaguely aware of their existence. I didn't discover until recently that "You Are In My System" was their song first and not Robert Palmer's (though I think the late Robert Palmer did a pretty decent cover). When "Don't Disturb This Groove" would come on on MTV I would change the channel. Fast forward to now. I adore The System. I have listened to their first five albums and am hooked, especially 1989's RHYTHM AND ROMANCE and the single "Have Mercy" which I spin regularly these days; when I am listening to "Have Mercy" I think, "Don't disturb this groove. I'm jamming!" Michael Murphy and David Frank did it all themselves, writing and producing great albums chocked full of wonderful songs with intelligent lyrics and excellent music. They were one hell of a team in their hey day and I look forward to listening to the later material. Really amazing musicians, Murphy and Frank. Thank you, gentlemen. I lost both my parents recently and your music has helped me cope with the grief I have at their passing. The System is a balm for my soul. Good stuff. Turn it on and turn it up!
hi Joe, Thank you . I'm so happy that you are enjoying our music. thank you for letting us know. I'm in London on a song writing trip and Mic and I are also coming up with new material. Have Mercy is also one of my favorites. we worked really hard to make great albums and they are made to be listened to over and over. cheers!! David Frank
@@davidfrank5115 Oh, David, thank you, sir. Listened to RHYTHM AND ROMANCE today, on my way to work at my parents' house (which is in probate); my eldest brother and his wife are doing most of the work getting the property ready for sale. Anyway, I have listened to all of the first five albums you and Mic recorded and I am extremely excited and impressed with the depth and dynamics of your work. The System reminds me of Daryl Hall and John Oates both in terms of musicianship and writing skills. Both The System and Daryl Hall and John Oates see the making of albums as a top to bottom endeavor whereby the artist is creating a whole work that is meant to be relished track after track from first note to last. It's the modern album as statement, exploration. My current fix by The System is "Save Me." There is a definite CLASSICAL feel to the song, almost orchestral. Great spaces and pauses for the music and percussion and drums to interweave in. I harmonize with the vocals during the choruses. I love the walk up of the chorus at the end (I don't know the proper music terminology). The pain and pleas of Mic through the song is something I can feel, as well as hear. I'll be riding the bus and doing air guitar, drums and keyboards (none of which I play) as I listen to you guys on my Bluetooth earphones and smartphone. I just bought tapes of DON'T DISTURB THIS GROOVE and X-PERIMENT at the Record Exchange, a Boise institution since 1977. I like having hard copy: it's comforting. I love it when "Promises Can Break" opens side 2 of X-PERIMENT. David, I love your piano playing on "Promises...' Your piano work adds great tone and color, enriches the song so much. At some point I will be reaching beyond 1989 with The System. I'm still so stoked on the first five albums! For another example, I get a huge buzz off the keyboard lead ins to the choruses on "I'm About You." They are rapid flourishes that blow me away! You guys nailed New Jack Swing. "Wicked" is WICKED. And "You Got Me-Where You Want Me" COMMANDS me to report to the dance floor. Sweet segue from "You Got Me..." into "Have Mercy." Pardon me. I'm a bit garrulous. Thank you, David and Mic! The System MAKES ME HAPPY!
This is how I first heard about kadomatsu. A hidden gem indeed. I recommend anyone to listen to his music. If you like the system, you’ll LOVE his music.
