@TheTravelInsider I am originally from lima Peru. Magdalena del Mar. I moved to USA 35 years ago. I like all your videos thank you for all your videos about my country. I see you like to spend time in my country I was going to request more videos. Actually planning to go back to lima next month after 10 years
Hey, Michael. Great video, thanks. I work as a contract writer for the Federal Government. Are any American companies like Boeing, SAIC, Ratheon and others represented there? I'd like to move to that place and telework full time. Anyway, thanks again.
I honestly have no idea about American companies there. I run two of my own business from my computer and haven’t explored other options. But I will tell you I love it in Lima! Excellent choice..🙏🥳
I have not applied for residency in Bolivia but visit occasionally for a month or two at a time. I have applied for residency in Lima Peru, as I have a very close friend there for the past 25 years.
I have a friend of 25 years in Lima with whom I’m setting up a Peruvian business. This means I’ll be issued a resident alien card which leads to citizenship after a period of time. And thanks so much! 🙏❤️
Michael, extremely good video with useful information, showed the actual places and restaurants and options, Definitely, for $1,000 it is a steal, Beautiful place and environment, A 10 for you. Victo, Miami.
Hi Michael, great video & thanks for sharing. I'm a US citizen who will be inheriting a 4 bedroom home 2.5 miles south of Valle de la Luna & was wanting some advice on how to go about renting it. I'd prefer renting to other US citizens that are living here for work or study purposes. Any suggestions???
How much are you looking to rent it for? And where is Valle de la Luna located? And unless you know someone, I'm not familiar with renting out properties in Peru. And it also depends on the type of renting you're looking to do. Long term or short term. Wish short term you can put it on Airbnb. Long term I suppose you could use an agency but I'm not familiar with that process. Hope this helps...
@@TheTravelInsider Valle de la Luna is located in La Paz, past the zoo. It's south of Calacoto. I'm not sure what kind of renting I'd want to offer. But was thinking about turning it into a sorta communal living space & rent each bedroom out because the 4 bedrooms each have to their own bathroom. The communal living space would be the LR, DR & kitchen, as well as full access to the backyard that has a fire pit. It's all new to me & I appreciate your time & insight.
I believe the cost breakdown is in this video which is my "Early, Cheap Retirement in Lima Peru" video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1DOQYufH4_w.html Hope you like it...
I absolutely loved your footage of La Paz. Thank you for sharing. Question for you, how did you go about finding a place to live while there? Is there an agency you used or did the US Embassy provide assistance?? I'm a US citizen & curious how to get a place to rent through a reliable source. Thanks for your time, insight & guidance.
I got an discounted hotel in San Miguel for 5 nights (I have wholesale hotel connections), and then began asking locals if they knew of any monthly rentals or of anyone wanting to rent an apartment or condo by the month. I found one which I really loved and came to an agreement with the owner. Good luck!
what airline did you fly that treated you that way? I never noticed the age-based boarding you talk about on LATAM, Avianca, Wingo or Copa Airlines. Was it Sky Airlines or JetSmart?
@@TheTravelInsider that makes sense. After I asked my quesrion I flew on JetSmart. Worst airline customer service I ever experienced. As there are only 3 airlines at Arequipa it is good to know there is a better low cost alternative to JetSmart for my next flight
Really nice video! We do have much larger supermarkets in La Paz, but they are not as close to your place as the one you showed. Nevertheless, I agree that they will never compare to the variety of products you find in the US or other countries. If you want to save some additional money, we also have farmers' markets and street markets scattered around the city.
Well I speak a bit of Spanish so for me not so much. Depends on your level of Spanish I would guess, however, there are quite a few people that do speak English also
Yes I completely agree! What a fun and beautiful neighborhood! And the food is pretty tasty in multiple destinations I found in Baranco and outside Baranco! Peru has fantastic food..🙏❤️
Yes, a lot of people come to the US thinking it’s such a great life, but everything in the United States is so expensive you spend all your time working just to pay your living expenses. in La Paz, it was amazingly cheap to live there. I really like it. 🙏❤️
Olive came from Spain 500 years ago. It adapted very well to the deserts in Peru. Now , after those 5 centuries we have a new type of olives. They are very big and juicy. When spaniards see them, do not believe they are olive for its big size and intense flavour. Have you visited Parques de Las Aguas ? they have huge fountains of water , at night it is amazing.
I have not been parque de las Aguas but my friend has and said it was phenomenal! I will be back to Peru in a month or two and I plan to go there and check it out!! 😎🌴🙏
@@TheTravelInsider Great news you are back to Lima. Have you thought about living in Magdalena del Mar ? It has ocean view as Miraflores but cheaper and more family oriented atmosphere.
I’m in Ecuador and interested in visiting La Paz to check out other cities. Do you know any expats who have been able to rent with pets down there? Thank you!
Nice video. I was born, raised and live in Lima and all you said is quite true. But.....about the weather, perhaps when you said it was dry you meant it does not rain, but it is certainly quite humid if you talk about relative humidity (70% in summer and 90% and foggy in winter). In La Molina, where you live is better but in Miraflores and other coastal neighbourhoods you don't see the sun from June to September since it is cloudy, and with a soft mist instead of rain that will make you feel lile beeing in the low fifties (°F) even if you are at the low 60°s. But remeber, you are in Lima, Perú and here the imposible becomes true... And you just have to go a bit up into the foothills of the Andes, at a one hour ride, to Cieneguilla or Chaclacayo, and you will need tons of sunblock, an be at a perfectly dry and warm weather arround 75°F
I was surprised the variety and tasteful fresh fruits you can find in Lima. In the USA is hard to find good fruit. Also, if you are a believer Lima is a catholic megacity where you can literally find a church everywhere. Churches are beautiful and well maintained.

FIFTEEN YEAR RESIDENTT OF SANTA CRUZ. LA PAZ IS A HOLE. LOCAL POLITICS RUN BY INDIAN NAZ9I´S THAT LIVE WITH HATRED OF THE WHITE RACE OF SANTA CRUZ. WHO WOULD EVER LIVE IN THIS CITY. ????? EVERYONE IS MOVING TO SANTA CRUZ
Nice video, looks like a great park. I have a job opportunity that would put me and my wife in Lima for 3 years. Trying to figure out if it’s a place where we can be reasonably safe and comfortable, and certainly I have been interested to know if there are green spaces where we can get outside and exercise our dog.
