It’s weird. It depends on color. I have purple and gray ones that I bought after this video (not shown) that broke apart after about 5 games or less. SUPER disappointing! I have a dozen other sets of sleeves (including the ones shown here) that I’ve played numerous games in the past year, and they still look and feel great. Not sure how to feel, very strange that it’s color dependent.
For anyone looking for review later on. This box still holds up amazing to competitors in this space. It's still my weekly driver for my modern and legacy tournaments. Bringing 2 double sleeved decks and my dice and 12 tokens is absolutely great. Definitely a weekly driver deckbox
I don’t currently own and ultra pro binder, but the pages on these binders are very similar, so it should work. You can see my other videos where I review Ultimate Guard and Dex binders, and these sleeves fit in those easily.
@@befrontcg Probably yes but i haven’t had time yet to look for upgrades. The only upgrade i found so far in my inventory is Sanguine Blood for the vampire deck.
Can I ask the pricing for getting that many cards grated? I am thinking of grading in the near future, but I don´t know the prices at all. Like is it a 100 dollars to get up to 50 cards grated if max price per card doesn´t go over 1499 dollars? is it 50 per card in this case?
These were quite a while ago, so I don't remember the specifics, but I think it was about $10 per card, when you submitted at least about 20 or 25 with the silver membership (not sure if they still do memberships). Now I think it's about $15 per card for similar volumes. However, like you said, the value of the card is the biggest factor. I believe I submitted all of these in the "under $500" (which I think is/was the lowest category at the time). Above that, then you get into the $50+ per card territory. Hope that helps! Sorry, that was a little vague! I submitted these almost 3 years ago, and the rules have changed a lot since then!
@@befrontcg Nono, This is very helpful. At first I read it as send in 1-50 cards for 100 dollars and thought then all would be graded XD Now I know to only choose my most expensive cards and need to save up a little more for the whole process of shipping and graded and sleeves and such.
Still needed an hoped to see Alakazam ex as that card has a really cool attack but Mew ex (especially for competitive players) is a big win! I hope to see some Paradox Rift in the future!
I haven’t used UP’s binder, but they look VERY similar - zipper, 3x3, 360 total cards. I will say, Dex’s cover material *looks* to be tougher. It’s a thick, textured feel, whereas UP’s appears to be a softer, thinner, pleather materials. Also, they are both around $30. But again, please take with a grain of salt, since I haven’t used UP myself.
Yea, definitely had inner sleeves. I double sleeve them all. Don’t rely too much though, might mot have been exactly 60. Posting a video in the next day or two, where I’ll show MULTIPLE double sleeved commander (100 cards exactly) decks. That should give you a better idea 😁
No problem! I always try to go into as much detail as possible in these reviews, so glad it’s helpful! Let me know of any other product reviews you’d like to see!
Yup. I’m sure plenty of people would argue “well you get more rares and mythics per pack”, but it just psychologically feels so bad to only get 4 for $200.
You nailed it in your commentary. There's some really cool cards in this product, but the price makes it a rough gamble. And if Double Masters 2022 taught us anything, singles prices may very well continue to dip and make that gamble even riskier! That said, you got some neat pulls here! The borderless profile-art Mikaeus and Maelstrom Wanderer both look amazing!
Thanks, yea, time will tell, but really don’t know how I feel about this product overall. But regardless, totally agree my Commander decks are definitely going to get blinged out. Right on with DM22. Box and singles prices have crashed. I may or may not have just gotten some boxes WAY below 200 that I may or may not want to open on the channel 😁 stay tuned...
@@befrontcg I am talking about character sleeves with transparent outers to guard the pictured sleeves inside. If this box is a tight fit with dragonshield sleeves as it seems in videos, it likely won't fit sadly.
Great video, I have only tried white matte sleeves from Dragon Shield and have been interested in trying the dual matte sleeves however I have heard many people complain they split along the corners. I was wondering if you have had any similar issues?
Thanks for watching! I have them on a few of my decks at this point, and I haven’t seen that yet. Will keep you posted though! I do have quite a few decks though, and so I’ve only played each of those decks maybe 5-10 times since I’ve changed the sleeves at this point, so could just be that they haven’t split *yet *
I'm glad I'm not alone in the not-knowing-new-Pokémon department! My oldest nephew got me into Pokémon Go some years back, and before that, I hadn't played a Pokémon game since...Gold/Silver! Learning new Mons as I go! Great first half of the box, with some nice-looking pulls! I think the silver borders look much nicer than the older yellow ones.
Thank you! Now just 9 away! Sorry for the delay in responding, and posting pt. 2 of the SV box. Life got a bit crazy for a minute. Regularly scheduled programming coming back soon!
Man your full art tera luck is insane! Hopefully this luck continues into next set with the tera Charizard 😂 Also I also recall the days of farming Hariyamas. Certainly helped that they all belly drummed to make the job twice as easy lol
I found this set to be a lot of fun. Wizards definitely pushed some boundaries here and, with the exception of Companions being a biiiiit too powerful, I think that made for a really unique and interesting set. It's also crazy to think that Ikoria is already three years old! Where the heck did the time go?!
Yea super happy I got to open some before it all disappears. I know where the time has gone: it was all spent trying to keep up with the explosion of releases wotc put out since then!
Despite many of the cards from Ikoria warping the different formats, it feels like Wizards really tried to create a set that was very "outside the box", both in its flavor and mechanics. Because of that I consider it one of my favorite even if competitive players may not have fond memories. Also full art Ketria Triome has got to be my favorite but full art Indatha is definitely a close second 👍
Yea, I wasn’t playing enough at the time to know, but I can see it. Yea definitely a lucky pull, but glad I didn’t use this box in a Ten Triome Challenge 🤣
The multiverse legends are definitely the highlight although I wish they were foil. The battles I think mechanics wise are really cool but flavor wise are not all that interesting. I think there could have been a cooler "thing" than a battle. Also I hope new Capenna is opened with the Ikoria for the classic ten triome challenge haha.
Yea, I think they have a ‘halo foil’ in the collector or something like that. Other than that is the etched foil, like the Keruga I pulled toward the end. Ha yea, well stay tuned you’ll see!
If this box weren't already 🔥 enough, turns out I totally missed a Faerie Mastermind and threw it into my commons/uncommons pile! Crazy! See if you can catch when in the video I pulled it!
@befrontcg I'm really enjoying this set. The multiverse legends reprints are really neat, the team-up cards are flavorful, and the new battle mechanic is actually quite fun. In a visual sense, I also think this set really looks stunning. I'm a big fan of alternate showcase art/frame treatments, so I'm glad we get to see so many in this set. Really helps tie specific cards, and the characters depicted on them, to the planes they're from.
Isn't just me or can I not find the non glare sleeves anywhere? They don't show up on their website anymore and only a few colors still have non glare sleeves right now. Am I missing an obvious seller? Not even my LGS had any.
Yes exactly - not sure how far you watched into my video, but I called that out. I can’t see it on the DS website, and I dug all over the internet and all I can find is like one super overpriced on Amazon for like $25 each box - probably somebody who hoarded them before they were discontinued. A shame, since I generally really like non glare.
The Good: The new foiling is awesome for even the regular rares, and reverse holos and blends well with the silver borders. The Bad: We have stage 2 single prizers with stagnant HP's of 130 while a two prize Stage 2 has over 300 HP. That Gyarados looks amazing though! All the Terastal Cards have that alt art and is the best alt art in my opinion.
Yup awesome loads of fun for collectors still not fixing the OP 2 price issue. A shame since the original EX’s were generally pretty awful actually. And yea, still that’s my favorite even if it’s not the “most valuable” pull I got. Clearly 1000 different art variants for every card is the way of the future.
Very nice box pulls! I've no clue what anything is worth, but the cards look really pretty! Also, I'm so used to standard Pokémon cards having yellow borders, dating back to when I collected them in the 90s. I've gotta say, though: I'm a fan of these new silver borders! I think they give the cards a sleeker look, overall.
Thanks glad you enjoyed! Yea, I don’t really play Pokémon anymore either, so half the time I don’t know what I’m looking at either 😂 but just like you, I appreciate them for the nostalgia of the 90’s and for the far superior innovation they have over other card games in regards to all the crazy textures, art styles, coloring etc. Do you ever pick up a pack here and there just for fun when you see them on store shelves?
@befrontcg I haven't bought a pack for myself in ages (Magic takes up most of my gaming budget lol). However, my oldest nephew is really into Pokémon, so I'll pick up packs for him now and then, or get him a box on special occasions. The art/foiling variants really are wild these days!
@@BlameScott ah yea... magic certainly consumes a lot of money lol. Ah nice, good way to get some family time in while seeing what’s new in the Pokemon world... without getting stuck with a bunch of bulk you won’t use!
