I know all of this but you explained it so well that I subscribed anyway, good job. Danzo ofc was never the Sixth Hokage, he was an interim Hokage, Kakashi was the Sixth

People who think gojo is a flat character(i am only up to volume 21, around chapter 188) do not really get all the hints and statements gege wrote for gojo's character and his development or regression

I like how Danzos writing ties in with Madaras. We see Danzo Unable to Sacrifice himself or accept Tobiramas sacrifice, yet he believes that it’s the most honourable thing a shinobi could do. Madara doesn’t have this hypocritical ideology he completely Rejects the will of fire. Madara heals Obito and strengthens him physically and in his dying moments he gave Obito a mission, to groom Nagato, gather the scattered tailed beasts and finally Get Nagato to use rinne rebirth to revive Madara. He gave Obito that mission because he has to be the saviour in his eyes rather than entrusting Obito with the entirety of his goals, instead he rejects the will of fire and the future generation. He even leaves Obito with black Zetsu who he thought was the manifestation of his will further enforcing that theme not knowing that he’s bending to Zetsus will the entire time.

The thing with Danzo is that he's Machiavellian and pragmatic in his dedication to the Leaf. But that's also the problem. He enacts noble intentions with pragmatic but morally unethical and questionable methods. He's that kind of character

I kind of soured on this video over the years because I find it a bit surface level, compared to how much more I could’ve said. After the manga ends i’ll make a better version of it, just because this comment made me smile a lot. Thank you for the support bro.

I know Im probs just projecting and biased since i love psychology but i really hope were going to see gojos character completely change once hes unsealed. we've really never seen gojo completely alone in the series there's always SOMEONE there with him, and i honestly really think that he would be a far more interesting character if we found out that gojo has been SEVERLY effected by all the shit hes been thru. i mean he was literally born with the highest expectations by the ENTIRE jujutsu society, was brutally mauled and almost died, lost what was probs the first and only mission he ever failed, lost his best friend and was then forced to land the final killing blow, tsumiki went into a coma he couldn't break, thought yuji fucking died, almost had megumi/nobura die, and NOW getos corpse is being puppeted around and used to mock him. and thats not even adding in all the shit he was absent for during shibuya. I really feel like hes just been covering up his emotions or just ignoring them and when hes finally released all that pent up trauma is gonna finally make him snap. we already know hes not mentally sound since hes so sadistic when hes in a fight, but we know he does have empathy towards others cause otherwise he wouldn't have ever cared about not hurting people at shibuya and he wouldnt have ever even bothered trying to change the system. like i said im probs just being too hopeful they'll handle a "gifted kid" situation correctly and address the crippling anxiety that comes with failing the expectations of it, i genuinely think gojo is so much more than some selfish asshole and is hiding how much things actually have affected him.

Why geto is the one who fallen instead of gojo who has borderline morality, because geto invested deeper in relationship. that is why geto dissapointed and left. while gojo don't easily emotionally disturbed because he focus on his power development.

Hahahahahahaha hahahahahahaha you ain't afraid to die? then let's go. I'm running in blind to save everyone I can if they're around me. But I would see that jogo might accept the sign of mercy from gojo along with whomever elses eyes might be watching I can *poke* them out at any time. Or do I need to spell it out for you again like a real sorcerer? Haha

Wow this was an excellent analysis. I absolutely agree with you, Gojo is one of the best written OP characters in a story that isn't meant to be satire. I found it incredibly interesting that he had absolute power, and he chose to refrain from exercising it in arbitrary ways. He is a man with a sense of "justice", and that requires his actions to seem just as well. Even though he's tempted to use his powers to simply exterminate a festering jujutsu society, he chooses more constructive ways to achieve his goal and that reflects immense wisdom, restraint and patience on his part. I fell in love with him, when I realized this. There was another video of someone comparing his character to that of the Buddha. Which I also think is a valuable comparison even if that's cherry picking. I think Gege's written a very complex and deep characterization for Gojo, but in the interviews and comments, the author has chosen to reply almost playfully to the superficial questions about Gojo. Maybe because most people cant look beyond his cool, handsome and powerful outlook. I for one, hope to see more of him soon. Gege said that the manga will end by 2023, so I don't think I'll have to wait for long.

Exceptional analysis, as many others have said. Thought I already posted this but I guess I'm doing it very late, I would argue there is exactly one time shown where his power really made a difference where it mattered. The very first chapter, where he fights Sukuna. It is mainly Itadori who actually did something here, who managed to take back his body after a few seconds. But I think that is part of why Gojo latches on to him so hard afterwards, not only that he sees his potential and hope for the future that he represents. But also, he finally succeeded in something with his power in something that mattered to him, even if that was just holding off a, devastating to be sure, threat for a few seconds and telling somebody else what to do even if it were two simple instructions.

I take issue with calling Danzo selfish and power hungry. My reason being in the series everyone who knew Danzo says the opposite. The reality of the character is Danzo stood underground for 50 years to support his best friend hiding every single contribution and his own being from the village he loved seeking NO recognition. All the love and credit for Konoha goes to my best friend I seek NOTHING at all but to continue supporting the great tree in darkness. In fact talking about anything Danzo did will literally kill you. When Hiruzen first steps down as Hokage he still doesn't seek to become Hokage. Its only when Tsunade risks what Danzo calls the 4ths legacy during the Pain fight he is resolute he has to become Hokage for the future of Konoha. Potentially losing the Kyubi that Minato gave his life to keep in the village is too much for Danzo to bear. This is to me is greatly illustrated by 2 characters in the series statements about Danzo. 1. Hiruzen when he is revived reveals that he heavily burdened Danzo. He uses the word burden and its very telling to me. Hiruzen could not stand the darkness of the Shinobi world and placed that immense weight on his best friend to bear. Danzo willingness to bear all of the darkness of the village seeing nothing but the worst of everything and everyone all the time, never able to sit back and enjoy anything about Konoha so his best friend could enjoy the good of the village in my opinion is the opposite of selfishness and power hungry. Danzo HAS to be Yin of the YinYang relationship. Danzo has to see the worst in people and the worst case scenario it is his burden to bear and what he considers it the least he can do. IT'S HIS JOB. His death is seeing himself as Yin to Hiruzen's Yang and the symbol is literally in his head. Another aspect about Danzo I hardly ever see referenced by any fans when analyzing the character. Its easy to see the good of Yang and natural to be attracted to it but Yin is every bit as important. At least Danzo certainly thought so. 2. When Shisui has his eye ripped out by Danzo; he doesnt say Danzo only wants power. Shisui purposefully uses the words "Danzo does not trust me, Danzo intends to protect the village IN HIS OWN WAY" He doesn't say kill Danzo and take revenge because he only wants power. He says the truth Danzo does not trust him and wants to protect the village. In the midnight novel it is revealed Itachi himself shared Danzo's feelings. Itachi believed Shisui's plan to stop the coup would fail and believed like Danzo, Shisui would ultimately side with the clan. Itachi himself was figuring out how he would fight Shisui and was even grateful they got to go out as friends instead of enemies. Danzo is complicated. Its easier to see the negatives right in front of us but there are certain clues into his character that reveals why his generation and ROOT held him in such high regard. Which was the reason I started to look closer into his character rather than just writing off Hiruzen, the Elders and Root's high opinion of Danzo. Even the data books call Danzo Shimura the "model shinobi".

Despite Danzo's initial hesitation what most fans miss is Danzo still DID volunteer to sacrifice himself and told both present and future Hokages not to. I believe you even missed that uploader. Danzo did not do this for his friends...but so that Tobirama would be able to live seeing Tobirama as the most important thing for Konoha's success. Danzo as you say doesn't see the future or even himself as the king but Tobirama himself! He will go on to see himself in this way. Danzo was literally saying he would sacrifice himself for Tobirama. Its not that Danzo doesn't believe in the Will of Fire but has a different interpretation of it that by all means is more logical and calculated rather than emotion. By Hiruzen's own estimation Tobirama was better at being Hokage than he was and had to rely on Danzo for a lot while Tobirama would be able to manage village building himself. Still Danzo's action to volunteer and vehemently protest Tobirama going...will forever leave a mark on the Elder's generation. His peers will NEVER question Danzo's loyalty to Konoha even after his death maintaining everything Danzo did was for the village just in his own way. The fact Danzo STILL feels guilty over his initial hesitation decades later shows just how committed he is. Not one person on that team was sweating bullets over the decision to sacrifice themselves like Danzo was. The 2 Elders were perfectly fine letting Hiruzen or Tobirama go as well as the rest of the team the only one to feel IMMENSE guilt and actually say and protest them dying was...Danzo. So much so he holds onto it for 50 something years. Also Danzo never really had any self realization. He maintains everything he did was for the Leaf. At his moment of death Danzo STILL sees himself as the necessary darkness that fit perfectly with Hiruzen's light literally forming the YinYang symbol in his head before dying.

Gojou's main weakness is any enemy who plans ahead. He doesn't really strategize much, mostly relying on his power and ingenuity (by creating new techniques on the fly, which is just more power) in the moment. Its the reason the Shibuya Incident went so terribly, and thousands of innocent people died.
