This is a Maestro violinist with a huge heart, leaving us this most incredible ❤ Valentine for today and always by a romantic Italian. They are playing together in heaven on today, Valentines Day 2023.
Just wonderfully sublime and so beautifully played as the violinist’s homage to his dad’s legacy of dreams. Such a gift to discover all three men today! Thank you.
There was so much interesting, original, brilliant music written in the early part of the 20th century that got shoved aside when the avant-gardists took over after WWII. This is a perfect example. I purchased the score and am studying the colorful, energetic string writing. Thanks for uploading this.
Andre Previn leads an all-star cast of role instruments in one of the better recordings of this timeless piece of music. Rimsky-Korsakov had some of the most beautiful melodic lines and sense of instrumentation I've ever had the pleasure of listening to
Wonderful interpretation...look no further. The work breathes and comes to life with the flow of the lines unlike some mechanical performances hence. 👍
I recently "discovered " this composer and am developing a great affinity to it. The violinist is incredible. Hauntingly beautiful playing, goes straight into the heart.
A lovely piece, but somewhat ruined by the piano pounding away far too loudly in some parts of the recording. It is, after all, a violin solo, not a piano solo with violin obbligato!
The great, inventive, courageous, musically-honest Frank Bridge, who died far too young. Shamefully neglected today by most of the British musical establishment. Thank you for posting this recording.
Not a name I'd come across until this morning when I read his obituary in the Telegraph. It is a name I'm going to have to explore. Rest in Peace, Sir.
Bravo maestro John Georgiadis! I have been searching RU-vid for a good recording of this Czardas - one that presents the merits of the piece, not of the player but could not find any. None of the very famous players is doing it justice. I kept scrolling down. After dozen of recordings I saw yours. Sorry I didn’t know your name but I listened to your playing and for first time I felt delighted - your interpretation is noble, with an excellent taste and refinement, very well balanced and yet bringing forward all the expressiveness of the music in a polished and uplifting way. Thank you!
