I’ve watched all my clients go from negatively talking about their bodies, style and features to speaking more positively, feeling a sense of excitement about their closet and increased overall self-confidence. This is why I do what I do. If I am able to get you from negative to positive in my time with you, I know I’ve done my job. I start by educating and empowering you to look at your body the way it was intended to be, not the way the fashion industry tells you it should be. This way your body never goes out of style, through all the ups/downs and changes in life, you will always have the tools to work with your body, not against it. Are you ready?
Join me and my buddy Chester (🐕) as we discuss the Natural (Kibbe System) body type! They appear moderate and have blunt edges. I will be trying to focus these videos more on the structure/frame and shapes to look out for - not suggestions on overall style. Stay tuned for more videos, especially ones on essences where the real style fun begins! Enjoy 😎
Thank you! Think Im a bright spring, medium to high contrast..and warm hue..with cool undertone. Sooo Im on the warm er side and Im chroma well not muted so Im bright or clear. 🎉🎉🎉🎉 I have done it! The thing is í have no color on my eyebrows and eyelsahes and have dark hair and gray Blue eyes.
Hi! Thanks for watching and I’m so glad it helped! All springs have warm undertones, so if you feel you have a cool undertone, perhaps you’re a summer?? A good test is to see whether warm or cool toned makeup looks best on you ☺️ I too have blonde eyelashes and eyebrows naturally (without makeup) but I still consider myself medium contrast! Low contrast would be if your hair also was light and matched all the lightless in your facial features and high contrast would mean all the hair on your eyebrows/eyelashes and hair on your head are in completely different contrast to your skin colouring ☺️
@@myleneamelie yes this was very confusing for a long time and I thought I was a summer but now I’m 💯 % sure I am a spring and a bright one..with medium to high contrast thanks to this video 😁
A fantastic video, really comprehensive and easy to understand and apply to everyday clothing. Also I like that you included male examples, not many people talk about how kibbe types can present in men so this was really interesting :).
Thank you! So glad you liked it ☺. Yeah I was shocked to see how little information there is about Male kibbe body types, I've had so many male clients and they deserve to look good too!
Height isn't really the determining factor, it's more how you appear! So if you look moderate and you don't look tall, then I'd focus more on the body types that include moderate as a overall height impression. For SD, it isn't really that they're super tall - more that they have larger frames and so they appear taller and larger (not petite or moderate in size). Hope that helps!
This makes the most sense of any SD video I've seen. The way you describe the lusciousness, the draping, the light fabrics, flowy-ness. Everything. I also love that you include men! Pretty sure my husband is the same type. : ) I feel like you're really honoring of the body types in terms of your choice of languaging as well. Super helpful!
I have always been reslly skinny, but have always had a bit of a curve at the waist and bust - can I still be a soft dramatic? I find the pure dramatic doesn’t really fit me
Hi! Great question! People who's dominance is either soft or angular can both appear and be skinny and can both gain weight. Being skinny isn't really the indicator nor is curves (since even pure dramatics can have curves, like Taylor Swift). The question is more what is more prominent on your overall structure, is it your frame (bones & muscles) or your fleshiness (softness and skin)? I'll be doing a whole video on this soon! So hopefully that'll help clear it up ☺
I have also always been very skinny, 5’7 and 115 lbs but have a small waist and curvy (not straight/boyish) hips. I was recently typed as a SD and it resonates! My essence is ethereal though, so a combination of essence and body type helps you find your best looks… ps - thanks for the great video, love that it ventures off the beaten SD path!
@@badpoetry33 ooh ethereal essence and SD body type is such a beautiful combo 🥰. And yes exactly, my best friend is the exact same way and she’s still a SD - what I love about this system is no two people in the same category need to look alike to both have similar structures. I’m glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching ☺️
Well, not all SDs do have big boobs. Remember - they have vertical and curve, mit double curve. Because of the big boob narrative (yes, many SDs have them) i couldnt figure out that I am a SD for 5(!) years.
I am aware not EVERY SD is shaped exactly the same, it’s a general outline. It’s more about an overall impression and if you have a majority of the characteristics. Thanks for watching
Hey! Thank you very much for explaining Kibbe system. I am a bit confused about my body type. Can you perhaps make a video about soft classic? I really think I am a classic. You would help me, thank you.
it's really nice to see current styles instead of super outdated stuff and also appreciate that you didn't rely on endless photos of sohpia vergara. her style is extremely well-trodden ground at this point and personally she's more for the good morning america crowd which is not for me
Thank you! I really do believe that body type ≠ a style. She’s got a very particular glamour style for sure and it works for her, but it definitely won’t work for every single person who has the same body structure ☺️
I absolutely love this video! As a SD, what I love about this video is that it talks strictly about the lines and what cuts and styles tend to look best. I feel like too many Kibbe videos focus so much on the archetypes( which I understand is a big part of his system) that it can get lost on people and sometimes even be a bit off putting. For example, not everyone with a SD body wants to identify as “diva chic”. Some, like myself, honestly just want basic line recommendations and want to use that information to come up their own interpretations for what their style should be while staying in the Kibbe spectrum. This was amazingly accomplished with this video. I look forward to watching more of your content.
Glad you enjoyed it! YES exactly! I really wanted to steer clear from the archetypes for that very reason. When I started learning this years ago, I wasted so much money buying things I thought I needed to wear to fit my flamboyant gamine body type - completely ignoring my personal essences! Kibbe body types should really be more about shape and lines and the rest is where personality and that uniqueness comes in 😉
I think it's fascinating when you spoke of soft autumn's, your profile was right in between your two examples and you fit right in with them as a soft autumn. The image was harmonious, great examples!
She does have a luscious and beautiful figure. And as per the book's colin really loves a woman who looks and feels like a woman in that sense of being softer and more lush and more curvy. I don't know if it makes me rude to say that. But quite frankly being a larger girl myself.I would prefer to look more like penelthen I do look like myself
Doesn’t make you rude at all! Penelope (and Nicola) is quite beautiful, but that does not take away your individual beauty! I know for most (if not all) of us look outward and compare and want what we don’t have - it’s ingrained in us from popular culture to always want more, but I truly believe that freedom is achieved when we stop comparing and look to our own beauty ☺️. I made this video to show that once Penelope really embraced herself and what makes her beautiful, she really blossomed ☺️ and I think we all can do that!
@@ivon8888 So sorry about that! It seems I had that service accidentally set to private. It should be there now for you! You can also email me directly at hello@myleneamelie.com for a full breakdown of my online services & all my prices 😀
She for sure has and yeah variety is fun too! But I definitely chose pictures where her hair is most natural and at her best for her face and body type ☺️ just for the purpose of showing what’s her whole essence/vibe
Just found your channel and it's really helpful! Do you have any recommendations for an fn/dramatic cusp with classic ingenue essence and deep summer coloring?
Thanks! I’m glad you’re finding it helpful ☺️ For your body type keep things slightly oversized but structured. Most important thing would be to honour your tall and long limbs, so that’s with monochromatic looks or maxi cuts. For your essence I’d focus on high end fabrics like wool, cashmere, tweeds and silks (for your classic essence) and small feminine details like lace or little frills, small floral prints (for ingenue). Your best colours will be muted dark berry reds/pinks, muted dark greys & navy (for neutrals) and teal blues
Everyone has a shape, it just presents differently on different body types and all are beautiful ☺️ - if by ‘shape’ you mean ‘curves’ then I would watch my videos on Flamboyant Naturals or Dramatics. Both are tall as their main feature and aren’t overly curvy in nature. Hope that helps!
Thank you for adding men examples! As a wife I want to help my husband look good in his lines, so I think this is super overlooked. I would love more about the men with a lot more male examples in each category! 💯👏👏👏
Yes I 100% agree! I got so frustrated not seeing any male examples (especially clothing suggestions) for men in the Kibbe discussions - I’m more than happy to continue including them in all the kibbe body types ☺️
