Do you think if you were to pre wash the pattern that’s on the rug you showed, would the print disappear?

Omg the pattern for the yo-yo clown!! My older sister made me one when I was sick, when I was little!! Brings me back! I still have that clown packed away somewhere in the basement. Now I want to go and find it!! I remember thinking it was the cutest thing in the world back then!!

I’m with you. For the price to knit socks it is great. My only complaint with this yarn is it is not very soft. But I am currently working with this and love the stripping in it. Happy knitting and thank you for the review.

Hi Michelle. I like to make a working copy for every design I stitch. I have a printer at home and I will fold the original to fit onto the printers document glass and make as many pages as it takes to get all of the chart copied (which is not always simple and sometimes a very large chart will be difficult to piece together as I stitch the design) . I use highlighters to keep my place on a chart as I stitch and i don't want to take the chance of marking up the original and rendering it illegible in case I may need it for backstitching or future projects. I haven't sold any of my originals in over a decade, I still possess every chart and leftover kit I have purchased and stitched over the last decade that I haven't given away.

@WindyPoplars 5 дней назад
When i stitched my large Dimensions Gold, i worked with the original pattern, but after time, around the fold lines, the paper wore away, and the symbols started to become illegible. I photocopied the pattern and finished from that. Now i always work from a photocopy, unless its a really small piece, for this reason, and also because 'just in case' something happens to the original, i like the security of having a backup.

Even though the maker of that beautiful crochet blanket would probably be mortified at how little her family valued her creation to sell it for what they did, I am sure she would be delighted to know that it came into your loving possession! It's stunning

Wow! I have gone to one craft related estate sale in the 18 years I have lived in British Columbia. They are not common here. Also thrift stores are plenty here but rarely have the wonderful kits and treasure you find.. I must go to Washington State which is right below British Columbia and go thrifting. At least just once . . I live about 10 kilometres from the border crossing. I really enjoy your channel. You always have interesting musings I love to hear. Thank you so much for sharing. Mary Suzanne from British Columbia.

I agree, Michelle, that if it is our patten/kit which we purchased we should use the pattern in the best way for our own stitching style! There are too many beautiful things to stitch for us to waste time trying to “save” a pattern for someone else to use, especially kit patterns. I do try to keep my charts in good shape as I have daughters who stitch, but I do not resell at this point in my stitching life. Thanks for your videos!!🩵💙🩵🪡

I don’t know anyone who cross stitches so it never occurred to me not to mark up a pattern until I started watching tube. I just highlight with a yellow marker and don’t worry about marking the pattern. I don’t think my patterns are too hard to find.

Hi, I am old school, I copy my charts, on multiple pages, fold to focus on one area, then use a Binder clip at the top, I then lay the binder clip onto a needle Minder, it holds perfect, then I use a pencil to mark stitches completed, it works perfect for me, I then resell charts or give to friends. I mainly stitch full coverage designs. I also grid my fabric, as this keeps me on track without mistakes :)

I usually try to make a personal use copy of patterns, but if I don't I go ahead and mark on it if I feel the need. I don't sell my old patterns, so am not worried about the next user. These days I do have a large number of pdf patterns which I print or use on a screen. Patterns purchased in electronic formats are not allowed to be sold or passed on to other users, so I am just of the mindset that if I want to mark on things, even to change the pattern in the pdf, that's my business.

I figure it's my chart and I'll use it however is necessary to make my stitching experience easier. I do make working copies most of the time, but not always. I use colored pencils instead of highlighters, and I do mark on the original chart sometimes. I don't feel one bit bad about it, I don't think anyone else is really going to want to stitch from it anyway. I am the same with my garment sewing patterns. It's my pattern, I bought it, and I'll use it any way I please to get the end product I desire. I saw a vintage pattern channel chastising seamstresses for marking on or using scotch tape on patterns while she was going through old patterns she wanted re-sell. She was making negative comments about the person who used the pattern probably back in the 70s, and cut into it. I was thinking, well sheesh, it was HER pattern, she bought it to create a certain thing for HERSELF, so why should she care about some lady 40 years into the future who might talk crap about her? It's like our grandmothers who had nice things but would never use them because they were "saving" it for company. I say, use your stuff for your own joy and entertainment in the here and now. It'll probably wind up at Goodwill, a yard sale or in the trash once we're gone.

i noticed the 2 metal rings on the back of the violin. Perhaps to either put hooks in a wall or string/wire to hang on a wall. The hole in the violin could then be used to put flowers to be placed into it. Would make a pretty wall art? i enjoy your videos...many thanks!

Got a couple of balls of this in turquoise ombré. I’ve about worn off the knobby stuff because I was unhappy with how it worked up. Currently using c2c, accepting it’ll never look like anything. And never buy this again
