G37, the morning shift, runs Monday-Friday, 7am and works the customers. G33, 2nd shift, runs the same days and takes the outbound to Milan, goes on duty 6pm. Both runs on the weekend but 1 runs Saturday, the other runs Sunday. A.M. runs on the weekends.
As a most recent comment, the "young man" with the NCAT yellow blazer starting at the 14:35 mark was in school when I was in the late 80's/early 90's and to this day he's still talking trash to college kids?! Wow, shame...

So the train with those mini coal cars or whatever is in those cars and small cut of freight/intermodal is a manifest and this train here is still intermodal for the 238? I’m just curious bc I caught ns 242 that had a cut of intermodal in front and freight at the end. Also this my favorite place to railfan at :)
I remember when the Lancaster and Chester railroad only had switch locomotives.. Whenever they have big loads they had to use eight of those switch locomotives. Now they got these big monsters. I live in Chester so I've watched them grow over the years.
I'm impressed how far the L&C has come in recent years in regards to motive power. I've noticed other local shortlines getting in on the six axle action as well. With ACWR being the most notable, and more recently, RJCS. Not so long ago, you kinda knew how successful a shortline was if they had GP38's on the roster(CALA the exception). Now, it's more modern six axle beasts fresh off the class 1 roster. I was a conductor for CALA from '01-'04. We quite possibly had some of the most unique & colorful array of motive power. 5 GP18's, 2 F7A's, 1 F7B, and 1 GP30. The 3 GP38's didn't arrive until later. I do miss seeing those old 1st gen EMD's giving everything they have to pull a 90 car coal drag to Conway. I could always tell which unit was in the lead, just by it's horn.The sounds & smells are unforgettable. To quote Danny Harmon of Distant Signal Productions, "Document what you see, because you never know when it might be gone forever".
I grew up in Chester, SC and have admired and respected the L&C Railroad since I was a child. This rail line has truly been a very important economical lifeline to both Chester and Lancaster counties for over well over a century. This rail line also inspired me to pursue a career in the rail industry. To the hardworking, dedicated and outgoing employees of the L&C, the many companies they service on the line and to the Gulf and Ohio Railway Co: we, the citizens, thank you for all that you do.
