Nice lap! Nice video! Nice sound! Had a R1100S for 90.000miles/8years and loved it. Took it to track days as well (Assen, Zolder). Loved that bike. Very stable steering. Had a shorter paralever strut to raise the rear for a steeper rake and quicker steering. Great fun! Wouldn’t mind having one of those boxercup replica bikes in the shed
Yeah mate worked well, gopro stuck on fairing above left hand cylinder. Quite cool watching the telelever suspension working very well, such a stable bike to ride!
Not sure was too busy looking where i was going, it might just touch 140mph if you are going downhill, redline in top gear with a strong breeze up your freckle...
@@neilcuthbert4837 yes I bought it after it was brought back to the UK still on its Manx plate and all paperwork from the hire company who had it Isle of Man I had to re-register it with DVLA back onto its original UK plate it still has the camera mount fitted on side of fairing👍
Excellent capture I loved your composition a great agle and view of the road relative to the bike. Thank you for mounting it horizontal and vertical as your lean and angles where superbly captured. The sounds were good i'd remove the wind noise as it steals the sound space, thanks for sharing yay!
Nice job - I know it’s years ago but the ride was fun to watch and hear. Now on my 2000 R11S. Couldn’t take the HD any more as gorgeous as it was. Thanks for sharing!
@@neilcuthbert4837 im experiencing noticeable vibration at 4.5k-5k rpm on the footpegs. I've rebuild and synced TBs, and adjusted the TPS which have significantly smoothed out the engine but I still get footpeg vibration at 5k. Probably out of phase driveshaft?
The God dam pigs are going all out to ruin the iom with sodding cones everywhere,I remember the year I was behind a cop car trying to keep it real,I nearly killed myself getting round him,he chased me for about 5 miles without putting the lights on,what a laff
What a great ride you had ! Been there 3 times. One of the best place to be (but New Zealand is far greater, you are so lucky !). That sound ! I love my 11 S as well. I need to change the stock exhaust one day... Already tune the engine (high compression pistons, high lift camshaft, special eprom, GS like KN airfilter mount...) and Wilbers suspensions. Despite I am a press test rider, I wouldn't change my versatile R1100S for an other bike. Thank for that vid' mate !
Get a van der linde exhaust from south Africa, one of the best bmw exhaust manufacturer, the owner worked on perfecting the pulses from these engines for various bmw racing teams
A video where you can see what's going on and hear the boxer-engine and some, just some, wind noise. Real nice configuration you've got there. Ofc, would like to see the speedo and rpm, but well we r1100s drivers can hear how fast you're going hehe :D
Tidy riding mate, nice lines. Am very familiar with that engine as I ride an 1100R and could feel every gear change you made. Thanks for sharing and ride safe. Steve
Racer? hell no only my second trip to the TT had the Mrs on the back and was just trying to stay leftish incase someone quick was coming through but cheers will have another go in 2018 I live in New Zealand would do it every year if I could!
That was a rental bike she didn't like it much as a pillion not much to hang onto needs a better grab rail. The only time she hangs onto me is back home in NZ when riding the GS BMW sliding around on the gravel roads she's not a great fan of slideways style corners. Try find a boxer cup model R1100s they ride well.
