Thanks, no I stopped because ten pilots I knew died in 15 years and I didn’t want to add my name on the list. Now I am wingfoiling, it is cool and much less dangerous. Best regards ☀️
@@nicolas_vuille Understandable. Foiling looks fun too! Maybe you could consider single surfaces and gentle conditions, the chance of anything bad happening would be very very low.
@@nicolas_vuille Not at all! I've flown rigids, Moyes RX, and own a T2. Still I have loads of fun with any wing, including a single surface, an Alpha, and a Funfex. I can have fun even in a training hill! And... An intermediate like the S3 or Gecko is basically just as safe a single surface in the hands of a good pilot, while offering good performance. Many senior pilots are now on S3s or Geckos since they dont compete anymore. Some even say they are MORE fun, as the handling is so much easier. Last year one Sport Class comp in europe was won by Manfred Rummer on a Piuma, only added fairings to the cross bar. That's probably the highest level of passive safety possible while still having a performance better than comp paragliders
Thanks man, I was looking for some videos on downhill skating as most videos are made in rather flat terrain. Greetings from a Skating Newbie from Tyrol.
Hi Nicolas, your climbing video amazes me. Thank you for sharing. Could you comment me with your email address? and we want to offer you some exclusive bonus or something.
Thanks for the video!!! I am in CH, too. How will this do with a 94 kilo rider going up the crazy steep mountain hills? Will it truly go up hills quickly at a 30 degree grade? thanks for any feedback :)
It doesn’t climb 30 percent slopes quickly but this skate will definitely surprise you by its power on normal slopes and horizontaly. For sure your 94 kilos will be happy on it ;-)
What makes you think this, Antonios ? It would be stupid to change the speed of the video if the main goal is to show the speed.... I recorded this video just for fun, because this small mountain is famous here where I live for its sloping road and this skateboard was probably the first one to climb to the top. That‘s it :-)
@@nicolas_vuille I apologise if i offended you but the reason of my statement came due to the title "Insane climbing power". I think that when someone wants to show the power, the best way to show it is by regular camera action. Because by watching the real speed can someone judge clearly the power. And it is more enjoyable for us to capture the real speed of the tour. Not all the tour of course because it would take an hour, but at least some good deal of it. But then again it is not of a big deal to debate. It doesnˋt worth it. But of course it is good that you answered my question which i respectfully accept. The most important is that you enjoy your experience with your eboard and thank you that you shared to us the video of yours :)
@@Thereasonable129 Thank you for your nice message. Now I understand why people dislike this video. They think they are going to get info about this skateboard and they expect more than an accelerated video... You are right, the title and the thumbnail are confusing... my bad.
@@nicolas_vuille I also thank you for your respectful consideration and for your time to answer to me. Few people have your maturity and your respect for others these days. I hope the best for you! Sincerely, Antonios from Greece.
Thanks dude. I stopped hanggliding when the seventh people I know died... Since I have a kid I am afraid to be on the black list. Sorry for these news... still in love with HG, I take a break and will start again soon or later. Best regards from Switzerland ;-)
All I can say is "crazy Gumby legs." Discipline your leg and arm movements (conservation of energy), and your landings will be smoother and more consistent. Try stepping back into a lower-perf glider now and then to practice your landing choreography.
nice video nicolas. have watched dozens and dozens more of 'how to' hang gliding videos, and I agree that unless you are clearly stating that yours is an instructional video, (which you are not) then a little bit of reckless individuality is very entertaining. Bravo.
+Zouma Freemontle :-) FLY, THEN... ;-) funny, I saw on your channel you were in Vercorin and my video was made in Vercorin too. Best regards Zouma and thanks for your comment !
Cool video Nicolas! Beautiful mountains , safe landing ! You are a real pilot ! Join us , we fly every day from October to June .ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TRc28TMPmPY.html
I prefer to be in hang at least 50ft from the deck. Else you can run out of time to get into hang and end up with a terrible landing. Emulating advanced competition hangies while you don't have the experience can lead to disasters. Its much more important on RU-vid to show how it should be done safely than how it should be done recklessly. You can see the results in comps where guys have had their jaws severely broken from trying to show off.
Steve RX4 Thanks Steve. I hate to be in hang early as the wing is much harder to pilot, especially with big tubulences. There are 2 schools, I learned to change my hands at the end and I love to swoop now, even if it is more dangerous then a normal landing. Everybody has to set his own limits and they are different for everybody. For me youtube is really not meant to be a place where one should always "show how it should be done safely". There are schools for that. Any normal person understands easily what should be done or not, in any sports. I see people jumping with skis and making 3 loops and it doesn't make me do the same. Besides that, I've been working 7 years for free to gather Hanggliding articles in french for the HG community so I really dont feel bad if one of my videos shows something "not to do". Sorry that it disturbs you, best regards and happy landings Steve !
Nicolas... Your method of staying on the control bar while entering ground effect is right on. The last thing you want to do is get on the downtubes too early, too high, and find a bubble or other turbs and find yourself out of control. The downtubes are NOT for controlling the glider. It's like an airplane pilot trying to move his seat rather than the control stick to control his ship. Too many pilots have been seriously hurt or worse because of their apprehension for coming in low on the control bar. So it is far, far safer to pilot your ship while on the control bar all the way into ground effect! Don't listen to wimpy pilots.... they will get themselves in trouble, or won't fly when conditions are good for fear of botching up a landing that they could otherwise control. Just practice your transition and keep your legs together.... crossing the legs up until just prior to flaring always helps. This will allow you to move your whole body slightly for small roll corrections rather than wildly swinging your legs. It is much easier and a more compact, solid method.
Nice vid. 2:00 was troubling. I'm guessing he flared at too high a speed instead of maybe a small push to get more height instead and coming down slower on the next descent. Doubt he will do the same again though. Cheers.
m00tube Thanks ;-) I had only around 100 hanggliding flights at that time (20 with the T2c). These landings are far from being perfect which is cool in this sport: we always learn. Best regards!
