I have fished Bull Trout in the Kootenays and the best is Duncan Lake after ice out and before run off, March and the upper Duncan River late summer . Then you can't beat Upper Arrow lake and the Columbia river south of Revelstoke to were it becomes Upper Arrow lake.
Boys. Great video. But as a Local… I hate it! I fished that river as a kid not ever seeing a soul and now every year it’s more and more fishermen. I don’t blame you I blame social media.
Dude when you are ready to fish Australia let me know. I'm an Albertan who has been over here for 25 years and there are some great fly taking fish that i can put you onto ;-)
Great story. I'm an Alberta resident and have caught my fair share of bulls over the years. It finally happened this past season in June. While playing an 11" brown, had one take 3 runs at it. I usually carry 2 rods with me - one for dries and a heavier one for nymph/streamers. Cut off my nymph rig and tied on a large streamer and proceeded to hook and land a 22" bull. Beautiful fish in a beautiful river system.
You mentioned at one point that the bulls are travelling at 'that time of year'. Assuming you were there at that time of year, what time of year were you talking about?
Love the video! Hey I’m from Montana state university. Me and a buddy of mine are planning a back country trip to Canada to chase these elusive creatures. However we don’t know where to start and are kinda at a stalesmate on planning this trip. Any tips on finding a place to plan a trip around that won’t be a dud? Thanks
