i have an EVH 5150iii EL34 50 watt and did a shootout against my Marshall DSL 20h that I just picked up and thought i was loosing my mind, I liked the dsl better . was playing to a foo fighters backing track (Somthin From Nothin). I like it better here too, now I want to try the 100 watt
The dsl20 is insanely good! Punches way above its weight. It was my favorite amp of all time that I've owned until I got my soldano astro 20. Still a VERY close 2nd though! Best amp for the money out there
Excellent tones and playing brother! I have been watching all of Ola, Euge And Kyle’s 5150 videos and this is the closest to how I intend to use the amp and it sounds killer! @gokhanersan8561 I don't really feel like it makes you work more. I guess it depends on the amp/boost setup you have though. It's a pretty hot pickup so I never had to do much or dig in harder picking wise
@@shredaintdead9323 I tried it today by turning on all the tubes on my 5150 iconic combo. Boosting both the clean and the dirty channel. It’s a still a bit more work than the axis DiMarzio humbucker but Holy Diver sounds much, much cleaner. I will keep it on the bridge.
Just a quick question Greg, I was looking at voodoo eruption pickup and it seams like the company is not around anymore and also how did you get the pickup to fit because on the Wolfgang you need the pickup to have rounded corners and triangular legs to fit in ????
I just picked one up a few days ago after trying it out at the music store. I immediately loved the sound from it !!! I can't wait to jam at band practice with this on Thurs along with my 4x12 Marshall 1960A cab. Dude - great video and killer chops on those guitars !!! Nice gear you have !!!
A guy sold me this amp out of the trunk of his car for $450 because it was “too dark and brutal” for his ‘80s metal playing style. I almost threw my cash at him.
Marshall for a a clean sweep win for me - its raspy but the mids sound “correct” for the music being played - 5150 is grungier, gainier and well shittier for 80s metal to my ears
These are kickass amp heads...I love mine...my settings are Red Channel...Gain at right at 3 o'clock.. Bass right at 3 o'oclock...Mids 11 o'clock...High at 1 o'clock and the Presence at 1.5...Resonance knob around back at 12 Noon Straight up...Volume is whatever you can handle ! I use either a EVH 1-12" speaker cab with the stock Celestion Anniversary 30 watt speaker in it or a 4-12" speaker cab..either way sounds awesome ! Great job on this video and playing.

@marleighmerchant4264 I mean they're not even remotely the same. This is way easier to play and a lot less stiff. The 2 channels have a shared eq on this too and the tones are very different as well.
What speakers do you have the DSL20 paired with here? Sounds good. I placed an order for this Amp and im wondering which 2x12 vertical cab i should get . Of course for 80's tones lol.
