This scene honestly speaks volumes about Splinter’s relationship with not only the Turtles, but also Hamato Yoshi. Splinter must’ve been treated very well by Yoshi when he was his pet, like a loving father would treat his son, or he wouldn’t have tried to protect him from Shredder the way he did. And he carried it with him when he raised the Turtles as his children.
Shit man.. I remember when i was just getting on the drugs & just being around my dad really scared me, cuz he knew i was going down this path. He really did care tho, he just did what any sensible man wouldve done. & thats lettin my stupitidy and curiosity run its course. Im happy to be back in my not so normal life again. Love you pops.❤
Big difference between what Splinter is talking about and what you are. There is no similarities between a real father, and a real dirtbag, deadbeats aren't even debatably human. Only a coward runs from a fight and taking care of and bringing up a child is one of the greatest fights in the history of struggles. They do not even deserve the title 'Human Being' A real human being, who cares about people and things more than themselves. Can become a father, but what you're taking about is another stain in the pavements of the world. They are nothing. All fathers care for their sons. It is true
@NoBody-hl1rs you don't know anything about me or what I am but it does you have no job and all the time in the world to type paragraphs of stupidity on youtube. Why don't you fill out a job application instead of replying to 4 month old internet comments.

Man... as a kid I never really understood this scene. Master Splinter being chained up, still open to talk, help, teach and guide a confused boy in trouble he doesn't know and stands with the group of the enemy. If I were Danny I would've cried and hugged master Splinter tightly.
I remember this classic movie teenage mutant ninja turtles master splinter aka hamato yoshi and his friend shredder aka oroku saki was in the foot clan oroku saki was a acr ninja also forgotten the teaching his sensei hamato yoshi taught him
Hamato Yoshi was Master Splinter’s owner in this movie, and in the original comics and the 2003 animated series. They just changed Master Splinter to being a mutated Hamato Yoshi in the 1987 series so they wouldn’t have to reference death in a children’s cartoon.
My two sons were taken from me in a bitter divorce. Haven't seen them in over 2 years. All I ever wanted my whole life was to be a father. I got 20 years raising 4 children, getting my 2 daughters into adulthood but never got to finish raising my 2 sons. They are 13 and soon to be 15. I think of them every single day. This scene makes me cry every time. I never had a dad growing up and promised myself I would never be anything but a committed father. In Montana dads have zero rights. Too bad for my sons, but God has his reasons and I trust there is a purpose in this.
I balled like a kid watching this as an adult. It reminded me of when I was divorcing and my kids would go with their mom and I had no clue if they were safe due to her addiction. No one would listen not even the courts…I watched this movie alone and this part tore me up. They’re safe now with me and all good now 🤗
Such a great character scene from what you might take to be just a silly 90s action movie. "All father's care for their sons" In our fucked up real world, that may not always be true, but it was such an awesome line from Splinter. There he was, held hostage, being mistreated, yet he was still looking to help those around him, give fatherly advice to someone that really needed it.
