Your question of bikes waving to other bikes. I got myself a proper Mohawk. Yes a 1980s punk rock Mohawk. Yes I wear it up. Now that I have it NO ONE waves. Put that in your waving pipe.

Situational awareness. I try to stay aware of where other vehicles are in front behind and to the sides of me as much as possible so as to know where my escape routes are when I need them. I think you talked about it. Thank you for all these great points. We should never stop learning (and remembering).

I have a 98’ EVO here, my brother’s bike, he owned it since buying it new in 1998. I owned a 2019 Road King Special with 114 and after a few years I didn’t care for all the electronics that Harley’s RD put into the bike…It was ultra finicky when it came to changing and upgrading anything electrical. The charge light would constantly come on and off when I was driving it. I sold it and bought my brother’s Heritage Springer with an EVO. It’s a simple bike, uses 3 quarts of oil and one in the transmission versus my M8 which used 4 quarts and I quart in the other two holes, transfer case and primary. The older bike uses a carburetor with a manual choke, something which I am use to and it operates like my snow blower and yard tractor…Just turn on the peacock vale to get gas, then a couple turns on the throttle, pull out the choke and hit the engine start. Make no mistake the reason my brother had this bike for so long was he took care of it and always warmed up the engine before he drove off… I don’t miss the Milwaukee 8 at all…The EVO is what a Harley is meant to sound like, they aren’t super fast but it’s about the ride not the destination

And do not block driveways. If you are at a stop light and situated on the right side of the lane in front of a driveway, you can get nailed. That person taking a left hand turn into that driveway may not see you in time. This is even worse if you are in the right hand lane and the car to your left leaves an opening for someone to take a left hand turn.

I thoroughly enjoy all of your commentary and life advice. I have been riding since 1966, 73years old and still appreciate reminders. A favorite is from Reg Pridmore on cornering, “ don’t try to be fast, learn to be smooth; when you become smooth, you will become fast.” Stay safe, on the road and in life. Cheers!

63, medically retired from the U.S. Military due to autoimmune diseases. I’ve been riding for 50+ years and I live with serious pain 24/7. Not whining and in fact just the opposite. Riding is the least painful way of traveling and also my favorite means of traveling and getting a little workout without unnecessary shock to my skeletal system for the most part. Less talking, more Riding.

the difference between an old skool hardtail and a modern harley is you won,t need a wheelchair cos of spinal damage by the time your 50 if you ride a new harley. lol oldskool is cool but not practical. for all you young guns.

New to the channel. Not on a HD yet. 64YO, 22 pushups. BMI 28 so technically in that overweight category. Doing exercise physiology twice a week, but need to do more. One thing that has kept me off a Harley is the lack of fitness and strength! So, you’ve given me great motivation Aymen and I’m planning a test ride next week! Thanks.

It can't backfire on the people boycotting. If you're done you're done. You keep your money and there's nothing hd can do. You keep your money. Also it is not a waste of energy to boycott. It actually saves your energy not buying from them. This punk says it's been going on for a long time. So fucking what? People didn't know about it. Now they do. Too bad about the locals but if they had any honor they would quit anyway. This guy sounds like a libtird so I'll be ignoring him too. He's right about Indian. They're owned by Polaris who is just as woke but he's wrong that ALL companies. I have two harleys. I'm in the market for another bike. It's going to be a Triumph Rocket. Made in England by a company owned by a conservative. I sold my stock and dropped HD insurance. I'll keep my Harleys because I enjoy riding them. This doosh thinks everyone has to quit them to have any effect. This shows this simp is ignorant about business. When he talks about politics he displays his submissiveness

Been a H-D guy since I was 15 years old and today at 63 H-D is still my primary Bike. 5’11” 185lbs and I’ve owned and ridden every brand available in the USA and there’s only 2 Bikes that’ve never left me stranded, H-D and Yamaha. I own 1 of each. Ride On.
@cavscout62
@cavscout62 2 дня назад
In my 50+ years of Riding I have found that the Vast Majority of individuals who bitch and “dis” H-D’s have NEVER owned one. So having said that all I can say is STFU. 🤣 I’ve built extremely powerful H-D’s and much like ANY vehicle one modifies one must modify the ENTIRE Bike and not just the engine. Everything is expensive.

I can never remember a time that I felt scared on a Bike. Started riding at about age 6-8 and have been riding for over 50 years now. I guess growing up in a different world that was less populated and stressful is partly responsible . I actually feel far more tense in a car than I am on my Bike. Heavy traffic? Give me a Bike. Highway? Bike. Life? Bike. It’s akin to breathing for those of us who grew up Riding and it is learned by riding off road until one is part of the bike. Riding off road and Really Riding means you will crash and that’s actually a good thing as it teaches one that crashing isn’t the end and also teaches one the limits. Ride On.

Still riding an ‘07 FXLR that I paid $3500 for. It was a 1 owner dealer maintained Bike with 15K on the clock. I’ve replaced the wear items like engine isolater mounts and opened up intake and exhaust. I’ve owned everything in my 50+ years of riding and there’s just nothing like the feeling of perpetual motion that H-D’s impart. I also own a ‘21 Tenere as a SHTF and wheelie Bike.

@OldNotDead-Club I had a highly modified Softail for 27 years, but it was a Softail, handled like a sack of potatoes (compared to my BMW S1000XR). Lots of hp, big cam, heads polished ported and flow benched. But it was always breaking down. I'm 66 now, and I want reliability, power, braking, and handling. Which is why I bought an XR. But I still ride my Electra Glide about 1/3 of the time.

I think that you take for granted that everyone knows you are from the wrong side of the pond. You should have shouted , shouted, shouted that lane splitting is only legal in I think 2 states in the US. In many of the other states drivers will literally squeeze you and you will be in a world of hurt. YOU failed many of you listeners by only giving a short comment about "where legal". I have ridden motorcycles in Europe several times and It is unbelievable how much better the drivers are over there. They have been trained in lane splitting and when they see a motorcycle they will make an effort to give you room to split and filter. EVEN LARGE TRUCKS. Over here there are too many A holes in cars And Motorcycles.

Police now are not respected by most the public, because I think of the lack of discipline that is allowed to be given to kids nowadays compared to the common sense discipline giving out years ago. So kids are allowed to say and do whatever they want and not fear any consequences. So they don’t have respect for any authority being teachers, police or even their own parents half the time. I do agree that the younger police force nowadays have the same attitude, and no respect for society as a whole.
@OldNotDead-Club
@OldNotDead-Club День назад
It's a big problem at the moment as police have been politicised here and we mostly see them as dishing out fines for minor infringements of traffic law, so it would be a pr nightmare for them... however I doubt they care

I have a dyna Fat Bob (modified) and a BMW R1200RT. The beemer is a mile muncher with superb manners, luggage capacity and weather protection. However, if I'm going to France or Spain touring I always go on the dyna. Its more fun, I like the sound of it, the vibration and the looks it gets when its parked up and from people in cars as I fly past them. They let down their windows to listen to the boom of the Harley but barely notice when the beemer slides past them. Its all subjective and for me when I open my garage door I still feel like that little eight year kid seeing a Harley for the first time parked up outside a cafe in France. Its so evocative and makes me feel alive. Viva Harley!
