Great job as usual. Would be nice to know "price from" for your services on your website. That way when one runs into bargains that could use a full restoration, one can assess whether the bargain makes sense or not. I love getting some old legs and just seeing the finished work when they're restored.
Thankyou, I will suggest it to Antony and we will try to get the price in each video as well, we do try to but sometimes forget. We have a few pairs of Church’s filmed this week that came out nice so look out for those in next few weeks, one of them is going to be longer than usual.
Lovely! About to purchase some tricker bourtons from your online store - amazing channel amd would be happy to help support it in some small way. My foot measures bang on UK12/EU46 - I was going to buy the size 12, as gping a full size down seems a bit much. What would you recommend?
Hi Richard Thank you for your kind words. I can see you have placed an order for the size 12 Bourton, good choice ! Trickers only make half sizes up to a 10 1/2 so I would recommend trying the size 12 , if it’s not a good fit you can return them and I can send you a different size . Thank you again for your support Kind regards Ann
I like my shoes re-cork all the time I send them in for repairs for the following reasons. When it rains water goes into the cork into the footbed and sweat from my foot also. It is better to have fresh cork during repairs in my own opinion. 5:29
Fantastic achievement Anthony, congrats mate. I know how tough it can be living and working together - our lass works for my business too. I want to add a pair of Tan/Almond brogue boots, preferably with grained leather and preferably Chelseas, not a leather sole - Any suggestions apart from the Cheaney Tamar or Tweed for me to look at with 25% off in the shop?
Hi Chris, Thank you so much. Cheaney are really the only company that do the Chelsea in a grained leather. Have you seen our own boot we have had made ? its not grained but its a Chelsea boot with brouging and in a lovely tan with double leather sole. Its called the Endeavour 2. Have a look and see what you think. Ann
Congratulations!! I bought a pair of Tricker's from you last year and love them. For American customers, is the current sale 25% off the non-VAT price?
Congratulations Antony. I was so pleased with the Trickers Stow conversion you done for me last month that I’ve decided to celebrate your businesses birthday with a new pair of C Shade Stows. Congratulations and keep on pushing English Footwear out those doors.
I'd hankered over a pair of graftons for a while when suddenly the price went up from £740 to over £1000. I went and bought a pair of C&J Penbrokes in cordovan which look better and aren't made from corrected leather. Thanks prada you saved me cash and an inferior leather.
I can imagine Paul’s response was chuck em in t’bin, or words to that effect 😂 I think we’ve all been caught out at some point, over the years, buying ‘fashion brands’ thinking they’d be good quality due to the label but just cos a company makes good jackets doesn’t mean they make good boots. All depends what you pay, though - I live near a Barbour outlet and have bought boots from there at a cost that they are ‘throw aways’. I’m about to go into my 4th winter with a pair of Barbour leather walking boots, that I just use for walking the dogs in muddy fields/trails etc.., I paid £60 for knowing that when the sole wore down they’d go in the bin. I, personally, think that’s decent value.
We do quite a few repairs on that type of boot, where the cost of the repair is more than the boots are really worth, but sometimes people just love a boot and don’t want to throw it away. We have a couple of repair videos in the pipeline along those lines that you might enjoy, well one definite, maybe two unless they get sent back without being photographed again 😂
I’ve tried on Tricker’s and like the style but they are rather wide and so I’ve never found a pair that’s fitted me. Cheaney is a personal favourite of mine and always fits true to size as does Crockett & Jones. The latter part of your video resonated with my experiences!
Good question 🤔 I really would think that it's made from the same rubber compound as the others, and we never have complaints about how it wears, but I do wonder if it feels different under foot? Probably not. Great product in my mind.👍
Hey Ant, I guess the only issue with this is that the limit is still the bottom width of the sole if needing to go say from narrow fit to extra wide fit...perhaps there is a way?
No, you're absolutely right. There are limits to how far you can go because we are only stretching the uppers, not the insole. Very good point, I should mention this in the next stretching video.... 👍
@@shoehealer8853 here is a food for thought: First stretch the uppers (of course at the risk and expense of the owner, and if the leather would actually stretch... and then replace the sole with wider sole say go from F fitting to H fitting! This could do the trick? :)
