The Pan African Parliament (PAP), a legislative organ of the African Union, was established in 2004 to ensure full participation of the peoples of Africa and their grassroots organisations in governance and economic integration of the continent.
The issue with the African Union (AU) is that it lacks democracy. It is an organization that many Africans and people of African descent around the world are not familiar with and do not feel connected to, as it does not serve their interests. The AU does not adequately represent them or provide them with access. It falls short of being democratic and does not live up to its intended purpose.
I agree there are flaws in the system, such as the fact that national leaders have so much sway in the Assembly of the African Union, many of whom were not democratically elected by international standards. The Pan-African Parliament was supposed to be directly elected a long time ago. Organs like ECOSOC are in theory supposed to act as a bridge between the public and the AU, but that process isn't always smooth. There are lots of good things that have come about with the African Union. One of them is the African Court on Human and People's Rights, with over 30 signatories it provides AU member states a method of resolving disputes legally and with mutual respect. The AfCFTA trade agreement signed in 2019 now includes nearly every AU member state and has the long-term potential to drive forward regional integration, helping bring more democracy and prosperity to the involved countries. Many in Europe feel as you do about the EU. Understanding how each of these institutions works and working about it to bring about change could be an effective strategy going forward.

AFRICAN UNION,is a bulldog we thought teeth. Pan African parliament can you point one thing which you can say that you have archived since you have come into existence. While pander on that. Can you please get one thing done for now between one army or one currency. If you can't at least make one police command so that criminals or corrupt people can not be seen. The talking time is over. African is dying and it's happening on your watch.
What issues are holding back the other African countries to ratify the Protocol?. I think you also need to invite other African countries in the Diaspora, especially in the Caribbean and West indies. Wherever there are African people, they need to be invited and represented.

The PAP need to create and sponsor an Annual African Continental Cultural Dance Competition featuring our Tribal Dances across Africa 🌍. Then reward all of them for their expert dance 💃 moves... Sort of a Olympic African Tribal Dance Competition at least every 4 years..... This would definitely help unite all of Africa 🌍......
