This channel contains bad humor, cheesy jokes, one geek speaking in bad English about board game related stuff. And video logs. And all other geek related stuff. Of course.
Peaky Board Gamer has a really nice and quick explanation how to setup and play in two players ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-woo_q_mlt-A.html
What I really like about it is that from the start you know what you are scoring and when it is happening. But the game is to react well to what others play and adapt.
What you saw in this video is "A Wayfarer's Tale: The Lonely Isle". Which is a free sample game of "A Wayfarer's Tale: The Journey Begins". It's a lite version so people can get a basic idea of gameplay. Check the link in the description for more details. :)
This is an old video. I uploaded this 7 years ago (man I was young and good looking back then). There was no expansion at that time, only base game. You want to look for 2023 release called 'Complete Edition'. That one has expansion and solo mode in it. Not sure if there is a version with miniatures like mine.
To be honest, not sure. Definitely oversight on my part. It is integral part of the expansion. In short, all of them have persisten and unlockable powers on the board. Peristen ones are usually tied to a specific action (i.e. if you do this you get extra that) and unlockable ones are more like whn you do something in the game like taking a dice of certain color or you get a card from any effect...stuff like that.
Although it is balance along the entire video, The sound is SOooo low. I was hoping that after 5 years this technical issue will get fixed. Thanks anyway.
It actually is resolved. But sometimes I forget to turn o the Blue Yeti that I'm currently using and then you get camera sound. It is not great like Yeti but it is OK so I decided to publish video. You happened to stumble upon one of few that had that mic not being turned on issue. I try to be consistent but only consistency on this channel is that I upload a video every 5 days (sometimes even more as a bonus content). I have not broke a streak since 2022. That got to be worth something, right. :)
@@LifeofaBoardGamer I appreciate the reply and wish you and your channel all the best. My suggestion is... If you are already putting efforts in producing, recording, uploading and editing a video - put some extra effort into polishing it by ensuring that the sound has a good quality. (Shouldn't it be a quite basic principle when messing around with V/A..? Isn't it an uncompromisable anchor..? It's unfair to expect people's appreciation when such a sound quality might feel unrespectful. Uploading a video every 5 days is quite an amazing achievement. Nevertheless, I always believed in "quality over quantity". Good luck!
At this point this is more of a hobby of mine (something I do for fun) than an actual work. So I let myself slip from time to time. I see no harm in that. I think none of my regular viewers would mind occasional (very rarely) bad sound quality. But I respect your point of view and you have some solid advice. Much appreciated and I'll definitely improve on the quality. Sound and picture. :)
The sound doesn't balance. It is very low during the overview, and high from Final Thoughts and on. The overview looks more like an unboxing.. Thanks anyaway.
@@LifeofaBoardGamer Sorry for the confusion. No, I was asking for myself from my own playthrough. Got to this card and lost the fight, and was looking for the option for what to do if I outright lost the fight. It took me a bit, but I finally realized that losing equated to the second option. Thanks for replying.
@@ErickWoodell I'm know to make mistakes in rules in my gameplay videos. So glad it was not that hahaha :) Good luck on your journey finding out what is that shiny thing...
This review felt kind of abstract. It seems like there is quite a lot of text on the cards which makes me think it might be a burden to learn, and this text is also looks very small, I didn't understand the flow of the game as well as the gameplay and dynamics between players.. Thanks anyway..
Not at all. I'm not a good strategist. I always give my best to outsmart opponents but more often than not I end up overlooking something and making some poor decisions. :)
Thank you! I have always loved air combat and have been wondering if this game really does it justice. You answered all my questions, and I have watched a few reviews before yours. Keep up the good work. With space ships being a much more common game setting, I feel for you when you keep saying “ships” instead of planes. Thank you for being a real person doing a review instead of just reading a polished script.
Ships, am I right? Or what? :) I'm glad I answered your questions. Love I could be of service. And thank you for that comment at the end. About being real. Appreciate it. I do.
Me too. We play a lot of Mindbug and I never witnessed something like this. I'm super glad it happened on camera because nobody would believe me if I told them :D And thank you for creating this masterpiece.
